I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay… I thought you’d like to know we have since put a medium size fridge in the downstairs. There used to be one there and my husband removed it. I got a little miffed and he put a new one in there. LOL we do hope you’ll come again

It is almost difficult to know where to begin when charlatan like behavior enters your home. These guests capitalized on staying in a four-bedroom home with three bathrooms, two living rooms, two kitchens, large backyard, and so much more. They booked a home that was beyond their price point and attempted to suggest that they should have it for $100 per night. I can’t find a claim in her review that is not false. The guest put a towel, not a load of laundry into the utility sink that the listing clearly advertises has a French drain. When asked to remove the towel, she refused, saying that she was on vacation. We said we would be willing to drive a half hour there and a half hour home to take the towel out that she put into the utility sink. We did exactly as we said we would do. These people were upset that there was only three people in a home that comfortably sleeps 8 to 10. It’s interesting that she thinks our neighbors complain about us because these were the only guess that our neighbors actually complained about. We are pet, friendly, but these people brought a pet and decided it was OK not to report the pet then lied and said they paid for it, but the site said the pet was neither mentioned nor paid for. The only one that screamed was the guest. I don’t think we’ve ever experienced anything quite like this. They used three of the four bedrooms and then demanded to get 100% of their money back. The guest was repeatedly, caught lying by both the site and messages with us so they were held to their agreement to pay. It’s interesting that she is citing. There is no view when the photos were taken from the back deck. Not only did we choose not to argue with her, we told the site we were not going to engage with her. Then she sent us a building code, cut and paste for industrial buildings with 50 or more employees suggesting that our listing didn’t meet those requirements. She threatened to take us to court and have inspectors in the home. We welcomed her to do these things as all of the inspections were done prior to getting it onto the site. Hopefully homeowners will see this and suggest that she go to places she can afford rather than those that are clearly out of her price point. To rent a home and then suggest not paying for it. It’s like eating the steak and sending it back to the server hopes of getting your money back. The group that came in right after her absolutely loved the home and couldn’t believe they had disrespected it so greatly.

Monica… I find it a shame that because you were caught lying about an additional pet that you were caught being deceitful about that you would write this review. You never said anything about a mouse and I’m quite certain you didn’t see one. Especially based on the fact that you were asked not once, not even twice, but a third time it was mentioned to you that we were aware that there were two dogs on the property. Your response to me was the second one was a puppy so you didn’t think it should count. This demonstrates just the kind of behavior that makes it difficult for homeowners. In case you weren’t aware, puppies cost far more damage than full grown dogs more frequently. Even though I caught you doing that, I didn’t charge you for the additional pet. I asked if everything else was good You said it was great. You said you had to fix the back door, but this wasn’t true either. The back door was fine. We checked it before your stay and we checked it after your stay. It was operator error. Things like this make it difficult for property owners when guests are caught doing the wrong thing. Please use more discretion in the future and please do not revisit this listing since it was just “OK” as you put it.

Thank you for your input. This IS an older home. You are correct. There have, however been numerous upgrades, including a complete bathroom remodel, new floors, artificial turf, repainted entirely, etc. We try to embrace the beach vintage vibe as is mentioned in our listing. I’m sorry it did not resonate with you. A piece of advice when looking for a rental in the future. Read the description of the listing in its entirety and take a close at photos and if none of that seems clear enough, ask questions of your host. This will help tremendously in both host and guest being a good fit. Safe travels and hope you find something more suited to your needs in the future
