Enjoy a peaceful stay in this charming one-bedroom guesthouse with a private entrance, ideal for a relaxing Central Coast getaway. Hummingbird Cottage is a 10-minute walk to historic downtown Arroyo Grande, featuring boutiques, restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, bars, groceries, and antique stores. Just a 10-minute drive to Pismo Beach, Lopez Lake, and award-winning wineries. Unwind in quiet comfort after a day of coastal adventure.
WELCOME to our home! This charming guest home is in the center of Arroyo Grande and less than a 10-minute drive to the best beaches, shopping and wineries that California has to offer. This spacious cottage is a great base to explore all the natural beauty on the Central Coast.
We accept one smaller doggie guest with the understanding that you and your furry loved one will take care of the home like it was your own.
The guest home has a large living space, a separate bedroom and one bathroom. It is approximately 550 sq. feet and will accommodate a max of four guests comfortably. The kitchen is fully stocked and set up for cooking with a full refrigerator, oven and microwave. Dining area set up with a table and chairs for having a great meal or doing some work. The living area has a couch with can be made into a queen bed and a comfortable chair for relaxing. There is also a charming patio for coffee in the morning or to drink wine and relax and unwind after a long day.
The home has its own separate entrance and patio with street parking. We do not have a long list of things to do upon checkout. We just ask that you turn off the heat/AC, turn on the dishwasher, lock the front door and drive safely home!
This home is located in a nice, residential neighborhood so we ask that you be respectful of the area and the neighbors. We have excellent, reliable, unshared Wi-Fi that you can access.
We are happy to give you information about our area and give you some insider tips if you wish or we can give you complete privacy.

ONE BEDROOM:
There is ONE large bedroom with a comfortable queen size bed with a Tempurpedic mattress. There is a dresser, mirrors, and reading lamps. This also has an entrance to the patio so you can walk outside and enjoy your morning coffee. The ottoman and couch also turn into beds for extra guests or kiddos!
ONE BATHROOM:
The bathroom has a great shower and bathtub with good water pressure. We do have a blow dryer and a full set of towels for your use as well as a shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. The medicine cabinet is also fully stocked with incidentals in case you forgot any necessities like a sleeping mask, toothbrush, toothpaste, makeup wipes, etc.
LIVING AREA:
The living area has a comfy couch, an extra chair, and a Smart TV with ROKU, Peacock, Hulu and Netflix. The couch is also a pull out with a comfy mattress and the ottoman also pulls out to a single bed.
KITCHEN
We have a full kitchen with all the items you would require to cook your favorite meal, if you so choose. It is a full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, coffeemaker, stove, microwave, blender, and wine opener to enjoy any bottles you may have purchased on your adventures.
The home has its own separate entrance and patio with street parking. The unit does have a shared wall with the main home and we have taken steps to minimize sounds, however you may occasionally hear us moving around. This home is located in a nice, residential neighborhood so we ask that you be respectful of the area and the neighbors. We have excellent, reliable, unshared Wi-Fi that you can access.

Your children are welcome as guests, please just be aware that this home is NOT baby/child proofed. Also, you will be required to climb stairs to access the unit. This unit also shares one wall with the main home but we have taken a number of measures to provide you complete privacy on your vacation.
Yes, our home is PET FRIENDLY! If you are traveling with one well-trained, socialized smaller to medium sized dog, we'd be happy to host your dog as well. Tell me in advance if you are planning to bring a furry friend. I would like to know a few details about your dog before booking. (such as size, breed) Just be aware that the patio area does NOT have a grass area, but you are within a 15-minute walk to Rancho Grande Park that your dog will be sure to love. There are many dog friendly beaches, hikes and restaurants in our area and we can also direct you to all of those. We also ask that you do not allow your pet on the furniture or beds.
If you would like beach chairs or a beach umbrella for your stay, please let me know and I will have them available. A pack and play crib is also available for use, upon request.
There is a strict NO parties, events or social gatherings rule. Violation of this expectation may result in immediate cancellation by VRBO with no refund. There is a RING Doorbell on the front door of the cottage and is only viewed if needed for security reasons. Thank you for your cooperation.
For extended stays beyond 30-days, we will require a mid-stay cleaning at that time which will be an extra $100. This will be required every month during your stay if beyond 30-days to ensure the home and its items are getting a good deep clean in between your own daily cleanings.
Per the Arroyo Grande Municipal Code, Chapter 3.24 titled “Uniform Transient Occupancy Tax Law” we are required by law to collect a 13.5% Transient Occupancy Tax (based on the total cost of your stay). This fee is included in the price of your stay.

I have lived on the Central Coast for more than 20 years and love it here. My husband and family often hike and visit the local beaches. There is so much to do locally and we have really enjoyed sharing our slice of heaven with others.

Hummingbird Cottage is a great place to enjoy the Central Coast and all its wonders. This one bedroom cottage is located above the historic Arroyo Grande Village and is a short ten-minute walk. The cottage has a full kitchen that is stocked with everything you need to make a meal or just enjoy take out from one of the local fabulous restaurants. We pride ourselves in making our place as comfortable as possible as we have been frequent guests at other homes and know a great home can make or break your vacation. And if there is something missing or needs attention, we will address immediately as to not interfere with your trip. We are licensed with the City of Arroyo Grande as a vacation rental and pay our TOT taxes which helps maintain our beautiful City. Thank you for considering Hummingbird Cottage!
