Located in sunny Calheta, a short walk from the nearest café, restaurant and mini-market, this farmer’s cottage has been completely renovated and refurbished into the beautiful character and tranquil Villa Loreto.
Featuring on the ground floor a lounge, open plan kitchen and dining, the newly built extension opens to the large, covered barbecue room and the back yard with loungers. The master bedroom and two singles beds in the open plan mezzanine are on the first floor, where you will find the front terrace with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside and to the sea.
A pathway next door will take you to the Amanhecer café and bakery, snack-bar/restaurant with takeaway and mini-market. A 10 minute walk will bring you to the centre of Loreto, where you will find additional facilities.
This has to be one of the best refurbishment of all villas in Madeira, and where you will experience a little of Madeira traditional living.

Property Description
Entering the property from the car parking area, you come to the open plan dining and kitchen area located in the ground floor of the original cottage. An extension incorporates a dining counter and contemporary shower room and leads to the large covered barbecue room with built-in Madeira barbecue, dining table and table football. In the back yard, with views of the surrounding countryside, are loungers and a sun umbrella, allowing you to soak up those rays of sunny Calheta.
Leading up from the open plan dining room are stairs to the open-plan landing with two single beds, that opens to the first floor terrace with beautiful countryside and sea views, as well as the separate master bedroom.
Outside a large gate opens to a secure car parking area suitable for 2 cars.

Less than 1 Km away is the centre of Loreto, where you will find a bank, a pizzeria and a café.
Between Loreto and the centre of Arco da Calheta are additional snack-bars and facilities.
The resort of Calheta, 6 Kma away, with its man-made beach and marina, offers a larger selection of restaurants and a large branded supermarket.

Cleaning
Cleaning and linen change is provided every 7 days.
All linen and towels are provided, including towels for the swimming pool.
For health reasons, linen for a baby cot is not provided and you should bring your own.

Booking Notes
The rental value varies with the number of people occupying the property, so please ensure you enter the correct dates, number of adults, children and infants. Please note that supplements apply should additional people join you for any length of time.
To secure your reservation we require a non-refundable deposit, or the full amount if you are arriving within 8 weeks. The balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

A security deposit of 300€ is required by credit card prior to check-in.

Final details for check-in and driving instructions to the property will be sent 7 days prior to arrival. A contact number will be provided, and to be able to access the property, you need to phone this number as you are leaving the airport. It is your responsibility to contact and advise the number provided on the check-in details to advise any delays to the expected check-in time.

This property is a self check-in unit and check-in time is 16:00 or after. A code will be provided for access to the property.
Check-in and check-out flexibility will be applied where possible, but this will depend on housekeeping schedules and the departure and arrival days of other reservations either side of your stay; a definitive answer can only be provided within 24 hours of your arrival for check-in and your departure for check-out. It’s always confirmed on a request basis.

The accommodation in Ville Dilis was very pleasant and you can find everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Beautiful views of the ocean, the pool, the equipment of the house...we were very satisfied. The communication with the landlady Vanda was also great.

Bilder sagen nicht alles aus

Das Objekt liegt sehr weit oben im Ort an einer Sackgasse. Zufahrt (letztes Stück) sehr steil. Unser Mietwagen ist mit 3 Personen und Gepäck kaum den Berg hochgekommen. Der Ausblick ist nicht wirklich super, weil ein Dach vom vorgelagerten Haus die Sicht teilweise versperrt. Der nächste (gute) Supermarkt war ca. 5 bis 6 km ganz unten im Tal am Strand entfernt. Ohne Mietwagen ist man da oben echt verloren. Die Größe war top. Die Ausstattung eher mäßig ... bis auf Kaffeeautomat. Waschmaschine und Trockner sind museumsreif. Backherd und Mikrowelle sind nicht im Küchenschrank befestigt! Die Küche hat ihre besten jahre schon längst hinter sich. Deutsches Fernsehen nur gegen Aufpreis. Warmer Pool auch nur gegen Aufpreis. Wäsche und Handtücher eher zum Abgewöhnen ... kein Wohlfühleffekt. Und dann die vielen Ameisen und schwarzen Tausendfüßler, die einen ständig verfolgten. Wir hoffen, dass wir keine mit nach Hause genommen haben. Es gab nur einen Schlüssel. Das war für uns von Nachteil, weil wir nicht immer gemeinsam etwas unternommen haben. Wir würden das Objekt nicht noch einmal buchen, was ja nichts heißen muss.

We’re sorry to hear that your stay didn’t fully meet your expectations, but we truly appreciate your honesty as it helps us continue to improve. The villa's location is indeed high up in Calheta, and we do make this clear in the listing, along with the need for a car. Driving in Madeira can be quite different from flatter regions, and we understand that the steep roads can be challenging, especially for those not used to them. Regarding the kitchen, the appliances shown are exactly as in the photographs. While some were a bit older, we’re pleased to share that several have recently been replaced with brand new ones. The same goes for the linen and towels — these have also been updated to ensure a more comfortable stay for future guests. We also wanted to mention that more than one set of keys is typically made available, and we’re sorry if that wasn’t clear during your visit. We understand that when traveling in a group, having flexibility is important. As for the local wildlife, occasional sightings of ants or small insects can happen given the natural, green surroundings — but we take all reports seriously and have since carried out further pest control measures. Thank you again for staying with us. While we’re sorry to hear you wouldn’t book the property again, we do appreciate your feedback and wish you all the best for your future travels.
