Lovely spot, lovely owners
Lovely location, well equipped cottage, some beautiful walks in the surrounding area and not far from Symonds Yat and Tintern Abbey. Owners, Cathy and David, couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.
Our golfing stay
Wasn't the last word in luxury or modernity but at a fair price and perfectly comfortable. Owners were charming and helpful and it was set in beautiful surroundings with two very nice restaurants within 15 mins drive. A good stay.
Gorgeous Setting and Lovely Hosts!
We stayed at Ciderhouse Cottage over a lovely Easter Weekend in a group of 6. There was plenty of space for everyone and a really good quality lodge with spacious bedrooms and lovely kitchen/sitting room. Across the farmyard, our hosts (Cathy and family) were fantastically welcoming and helpful and Cathy even alerted my 17 year-old son to a beautiful orange moon one night - perfect for his photography A-Level! The countryside around the cottage is gorgeous - being quiet and surrounded by rolling hills. There is a lovely field right opposite with a tree-seat, perfect for breakfast. We had lovely walks in Skenfrith and Skirrid through some of the loveliest countryside I've seen in the UK (and in touch of good tea-shops) - Monmouth was lovely too. Many thanks for such a wonderful stay - Al Wisden, Bath
A comfortable and attractive property in a superb location
We loved this property from the moment we arrived. It is very practical and comfortable, with ample room to eat, sleep, sit, cook, watch TV or take a bath (or shower). There is also an outdoor seating area, not quite private, but perfectly positioned to catch the sun and big enough for 6 people. The water is hot and the pressure good. The beds ( mostly singles) are comfortable with good quality cotton sheets and duvets and there is ample storage in all the bedrooms.
The location could hardly be bettered. There is a superb panoramic view of the Black Mountains from the field at the top of the farm, and Monmouth, Abergavenny and Ross-on-Wye are all within easy reach. There is a detailed map on the wall in the kitchen making it easy to plan your route for a walk, a bike ride, or a drive out.
Although we rented this property as two couples, we hired the larger three bedroom property to have a spare room in case any of our children decided to sleep over. There are also a one bedroom and a two bedroom property as well as some B&B accommodation.
The owners Dave and Cathy were charming and very accommodating. We would certainly like to return one day.
We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you loved the surrounding area. It was great to have you around, so warm and friendly.
Thankyou for leaving the cottage so very clean and tidy - much appreciated.
I hope you all had a good trip home and hope to see you all again one day.

Everything was perfect.
A beautiful cottage in a stunning location on a working farm. Everything about it was first class and comfortable. The welcome from Cathy and her husband David was warm, genuine and helpful. We shall certainly return.
Thankyou for your comments Peter - we're so glad we were happy with the cottage and enjoyed your stay with us.
It was lovely to meet you and your family and we'll look forward to seeing you again hopefully.
