Typisch für die Häuser am Strand, die Puako so beliebt gemacht haben, ist Hale Aloha ideal für ein Paar, das ein Gefühl für einen Platz in einem perfekt gepflegten Strandhaus im hawaiianischen Stil schätzt. Diese Eigenschaft ist ideal zum Entspannen und Genießen der Sonne und der Meeresluft. Der Zugang zum Meer grenzt an das Hale Aloha, das sich ideal zum Angeln, Schnorcheln, Tauchen, Surfen, Kajakfahren und Stand-up-Paddeln eignet.

Das Hale Aloha wurde in den 1950er Jahren erbaut, aber im Jahr 2014 komplett renoviert, ohne seinen alt-hawaiianischen Charme zu verlieren. Dieses farbenfrohe und außergewöhnlich saubere Cottage wurde fachmännisch renoviert und mit viel Spaß und verspieltem Dekor restauriert. Alles ist neu, Schränke, Plantagentüren, Edelstahlgeräte, Holzlamellenfenster, Bettwäsche, Handtücher, Küchenzubehör und -utensilien, Sanitärarmaturen, Fliesen im Bad- und Küchenbereich, bis hin zu neuer Farbe innen und außen.

Das warme Meer ist Ihr Schwimmbad. Geschützt und nur 2 bis 5 Fuß tief mit einem größtenteils sandigen Boden, beheimatet es grüne Meeresschildkröten und bunte Fische. Gleich hinter der riffgeschützten Lagune kann man auf Hawaii am besten schnorcheln, tauchen und kajak fahren. Bei Ebbe werden die Gezeitenpools begeistern, und von Januar bis Mai können Sie beobachten, wie die 45-Fuß-Buckelwale spielen und brechen. Morgendliche Spaziergänge entlang des zweispurigen Puako Beach Drive führen Sie zu Puakos berühmten alten hawaiianischen Felszeichnungen, dem größten Beispiel für Petroglyphen der Welt. Es gibt auch ein Lebensmittelgeschäft zu Fuß

If you're looking for a classic Hawaiian experience, this is it. Amazing cottage - we loved just about everything about it. So incredible to wake up in the morning to the cool breeze, sounds of the ocean at your door, and a turtle or two lounging on the lava rocks. What we really enjoyed was the location and Puako - awesome for morning and evening walks, friendly people, amazing sunsets, exploring tidepools, and central location to access Big Island activities. Stunning sandy beaches and great snorkeling close by. If you're looking for a low key, non-resort place to put your feet up, this is it. We loved this place and will be back.

For two adventurous septuagenarians, this elevated cottage provided a comfortable place to watch the rock pools below fill and empty with the tides and be visited by birds, turtles and an occasional fisherman. The cottage is well equipped despite its small kitchen; we slept well, and Jay responded "instantly" to all our requests for assistance. We love Puako for its safe walks, nearby amenities and excellent location for exploring Kohala, so we'd love to return.

one week in paradise

Very sweet, rustic space. Studio size for 1-2 people with full bathroom and well stocked tiny kitchen. Good bed but no couch. Lounging chairs for the deck. No cooktop but hotplate, microwave, toaster oven, dishwasher. We used the BBQ most evenings. Gorgeous ocean view to soothe you to sleep at night. Amazing stars with the Milkyway overhead! Excellent snorkeling and diving and close to Beaches 69 and Hapuna. Would stay again.

Can’t beat the view!

The driving directions were flawless. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The first three days the amount of mosquitoes in the bathroom and studio put a damper on our visit. Once we had those under control and always closing the screen doors behind us going to and from the deck it was great. Between the breeze from the ocean and the ceiling fan the house was always comfortable. If the humidity rose we would take a short walk to the ocean and sit in the shallow water of the bay. Puako General Store is 5 minutes away for beer, chip's and homemade chocolate chip cookies. But the best thing about this cottage is the deck over looking the ocean, almost below your feet. First thing in the morning sitting there with a cup of coffee and watching the tide change; it’s the best.

We felt like we were in the Swiss Family Robinson tree house . Great views! Lots of turtles. We even saw angel fish and a reef shark when we explored during low tide. Sunsets were unbelievable!We had everything we needed to make food. The place does get toasty.

I would give this 12 out of 10 if that was possible. So unique. Rustic but in terrific way as all appliances updated, very clean but also you feel like you are living outdoors if you want to and then can close off completely when you don't. Location ideal, close to amazing beach and accessible to entire island on day trips. Stars at night are indescribable. Stay here, stop looking.

Perfect location with stunning views. Bathroom is nice, kitchen well appointed and there are at least 4 places to sit in the studio itself, not simply the comfy bed. We are in our 70s so we had some difficulties getting luggage up and down the 15 entry stairs. We also fought with the sliding doors leading to the lanai. All in all, we had a lovely stay. There's a channel in the water within walking distance that will take you beyond the lava rocks to the reef. Very nice!

Another amazing stay

We’ve stayed at this property multiple times & will continue to because of the location & unique style of the property. This studio unit is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood near the larger resorts. It’s oceanfront which allows for great viewing of turtles, dolphins, whales & those amazing Hawaiian sunsets. The property owners are quick to reply if needed & check-in is easy. If you want to stay in a place where you feel that old time aloha spirit then Hale Aloha is the perfect place. We can’t wait to return … A Hui Huo (until next time)!Mahalo

Peaceful, Beautiful Location and Charming Cottage

Communication with Pam, Frank, Kathy and Jay was prompt and simple. Photos and description of the house we accurate. We thoroughly enjoyed the feeling of peace and quiet after spending a week in Honolulu working. It was easy to relax and enjoy. Short drive to Kamuela, Waikoloa Village and Kona Airport. We had everything we needed here and the house was very comfortable and we look forward to visiting again!

Hale Aloha is AWESOME

This is our third year in a row that we have stayed at Hale Aloha and it is amazing every time. There is nothing fancy about his place but the purity of the experience is so great that we couldn't be happier having been there for another week. Private Paradise in Puako !!

We stayed at the Hale Aloha in late September and had the most magical experience. The beach home was perfect for my son and I, it came stocked with everything we could need and the night breeze was just perfect. My absolute favorite part about our time on the Big Island was the snorkeling literally in the back yard!! The Mauna Kea and Hapuna resort were close for some fancy eats and the grocery store was a short drive and carried whatever we needed for the cabin. It was so hard to leave and I hope we are able to stay there again soon! Thank you for sharing your peice of paradise with us!!

Honeymoon in paradise

When I say this place has a magical charm and is absolute paradise, it doesn’t come close to giving it justice. If you like a lot of amenities, or room service, or maid service… This isn’t for you. But if you love the old school Hawaiian vibe, are looking for a place to immerse yourself in the person you are with, this is the perfect place to get lost in that love. We will be back! Pure magic!
