Das Waldgartenhaus

Das Haus wurde im November 2018 renoviert und verfügt über drei Zimmer mit jeweils einem Queensize-Bett, die sich ein komplettes Badezimmer mit solarbeheiztem (stromgesichertem) Warmwasser teilen. Auch eine geräumige Küche, ein kleiner Essbereich, ein Wohnzimmer mit Kabel-TV und Internet, eine Waschmaschine / Trockner und ein Pavillon.
Die Renovierungsarbeiten umfassen neue Betten und Matratzen, ein neues Warmwassersystem, neue Ess- und Wohnzimmermöbel, einen Pavillon mit Gartenmöbeln und einen Luftentfeuchter.
Es ist umgeben von Wäldern, einem Bananenbeet, Obstbäumen und Grünflächen in einer Gegend, die für ihre Ruhe und Reinheit bekannt ist.
Das Hotel liegt nur zwei Kilometer vom weltberühmten Nebelwaldreservat Monteverde und vier Kilometer von Santa Elena entfernt. Es ist nur wenige Gehminuten von mehreren Restaurants, Cafés, einem kleinen Supermarkt, dem Friends (Quakers) Meeting House und der berühmten Monteverde Cheese Factory entfernt.

We had a great 5-day stay at this house. It’s in a wonderful location. The house has a lot of space, and several amenities (parking, outdoor space, fully equipped kitchen, washer & dryer). The shower was amazing— hot and great water pressure, which can be rare in this area. Daniela was a kind and helpful host. She quickly responded when i accidentally set off the security alarm (twice!). We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent communication from host. This lovely cottage in the forest was quiet and peaceful. Very spacious and clean. Forest animals and lots of nice birds are entertaining. This is a family friendly facility. Very close to Monteverde Reserve & Curi-Cancha Reserve and other excellent places for hiking in the forest and seeing wildlife. It is adjacent to the Friends school and with in walking distance of famous Stella's bakery and cafe and the cheese factory. Everything was in good condition. Interesting use of beautiful tropical woods. A vehicle is recommended / 4x4 not necessary in the dry season. Supermarkets in Santa Elena, 10 minutes away well stocked . Wifi reliable and fast.

Loved the location and Daniella is a fantastic host. We stayed 2 nights so a quick trip. The house is awesome with all the woodwork. Only setbacks is the couch is not comfortable and hard to lounge as the pillows don’t even stay in place. And not having smoke detectors in any bedrooms is concerning. But the house and property is great! Loved Monteverde!

Great private and peaceful location

We enjoyed staying at this quiet, peaceful location in the forest. The kitchen was well stocked and it was so helpful to have a washer and dryer. It’s a quick drive to Monteverde reserve and easy walk to cafe Stellas and other local shopping and coffee shop. I especially enjoyed time in the outside hammocks.

Spacious house on lovely property

This house is located just past town within walking distance to a handful of restaurants. It is very spacious and the property is also large, so it feels very private. The property manager was excellent.

Very private, beautiful location close to beautiful Monteverde!

We loved the cabin and the grounds! The home is cozy and well equipped with beautiful woodworking. It was wonderful to climb under some blankets in the cool weather of the zone and feel like you are right at home. We will be back!

We stayed in January 2026. Communication with Daniela, our hostess was great! She was very responsive both before and during our stay and provided recommendations for local restaurants and grocery. She met us at the property and explained what we needed to know, and gave us a fresh loaf of banana bread! 5/5 for Daniela! The property is as described, very private and surrounded by nature. We saw a few agouti during our 3 days stay, but because Monteverde is cool and usually windy, we didn’t sit outside. The kitchen is very well equipped, even had a blender, and the washer and dryer were very nice amenities to have. We all found the beds warm and comfy. There is a Whole Foods and cafe (Stella’s, highly recommend!) within walking distance which was great. Also of note is that there is a walking path on the left side of the road that takes you all the way into town. The one thing I will mention is that the furniture in the living room, while beautiful, is not at all comfortable. The cushions fall through and we ended up sitting at the table anytime we were inside. Adding a comfortable couch would be a huge plus in my opinion.

We stayed in five places during our trip and this was our favorite. Upon our arrival we were greeted by the kind host and carrot bread. The home itself was beautiful, clean and well stocked. The home is surrounded by beautiful trees and each morning we saw toucans in them.
