This cute little cottage was so wonderful. Our family of four really enjoyed it. It is set up so well and so comfortable we come back and stay there again. Our host Rodney was very responsive wonderful to work. He answered our questions and gave us additional information that helped us with our stay like restaurants and local activities. Cannot say enough good things.

A fun family spring break!!

We loved the location of Rodney’s house! We were able to so easily walk to the beach and go to great reataurants. Plus the other attractiions that interested us like the Zoo and Sea World were a quick drive away. The landscaping was all so beautiful!

Sweet Bungalow

Even cuter than the pictures! We loved staying in this cozy, clean and comfortable cottage in a garden setting just a short walk from amazing food, coffee shops and the beach. We visited briefly for a family wedding, but hope to come back for a longer stay!

This tastefully decorated charming cottage was just as depicted in the listing (minus firepit in backyard). Kitchen is small but well stocked with good quality cookware and appliances. Street parking was usually easy to come by right in front of house. Drive to everything we wanted to see was easy and usually took 15-20 minutes. Walking distance to fun restaurants and ocean views. Front and rear gardens are beautiful. Beds were comfortable and cotton sheets especially nice. Things to be aware of: houses are close together and occasionally there was noise from neighbors (and to be fair they probably heard us talking too!). Like much of San Diego the house is on a flight path. Planes fly overhead all day but you sort of get used to it. House not suitable for anyone handicapped. Steps to get in and small bath and close quarters.

Very comfortable little cottage, perfect for a small family with young kids. Beautifully landscaped, the back yard was a wonderful place to relax and have some wine while kiddos napped :) Rodney rocks as a VRBO host!

Garden cottage was the perfect spot for our short stay in San Diego. It was charming, clean, and had everything we needed to guarantee a relaxing stay. Wonderful place to stay

We stayed as a family of 4 and enjoyed the abundant space inside and outside the Farm House. Rustic charm aplenty. Easy to get to and from, whether you come from SLO or Pismo Beach. We had one request during our stay, and Chris the property manager was very responsive. Definitely would recommend a stay at the Old Edna Farm House!

Beautiful Ocean Beach cottage

The Garden Cottage was perfect for a stay in San Diego with our adult son. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The cottage is comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. The manager of the property responds immediately to questions by text. We loved its proximity to the beach and great restaurants within walking distance. The sights of downtown and Central San Diego are easily accessible by car. We would love to stay here again!

Home away from home

I was impressed from the moment I booked my vacation and it only increased from there. Rodney's communication was very thorough and answered all my questions (some even before I thought of them) so my family was well informed before our arrival. The home is beautifully decorated and so inviting! The beds were luxurious and backyard hammock the perfect relaxation spot daydreaming about our next trip back to this cottage and OB! So many great shops and restaurants on Newport - I suggest taking the short walk to shop and eat and don't miss the Farmers Market on Wednesday evening. Thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven with my family - we will be back!!

Family vacation

Overall the house fit our needs well. Kitchen came in handy and they had a lot of essentials already which made cooking very easy. Being from the east coast we assumed there was AC but there wasn’t. The house would get up to 84 degrees even with fans and all windows open so it made sleeping uncomfortable. My infant and toddler were overly hot and couldn’t nap during the day. The location of the house was great and close by everything. I would also recommend fastening all dressers and tall furniture to the wall since my kids almost got crushed by the dresser that was wobbling and the tall piece of furniture in the living room. My son was in love with the bunk beds and entertained himself going up and down the ladder. Also it was nice to have a high chair and pack n play and set out for us when we got there. Not sure what happened with communication because Rodney said we were going to meet but then we didn’t at check in. I also texted/called a few times when we were trying to figure out the AC situation and he never returned my calls/messages. He did call my husband back after he tried calling too but I don’t think he knew it was us since he didn’t have his contact info and we didn’t leave a message. Overall we did enjoy our stay, but there was just those minor things.

Ocean Beach was a great beach town. Host went above and beyond for us. Amazing hospitality! Very clean House, made us feel at home! We loved the small town businesses all within a short walk from the Cottage. We also had a sweet neighborhood cat that visited us. Took plenty of photos but it wouldn’t let us add them because they exceeded the size limit.

Home at the Beach!

Rodney’s sweet cottage is clean, comfortable, and has all the amenities to feel at home. We stayed 6 days while my son played baseball at Point Loma University. During our stay we enjoyed walks to the beach, cozy evenings at “home” in the back patio, naps in the hammock and breakfast on the front porch surrounded by butterflies and hummingbirds. Cozy Ocean cottage

It was everything described by others. Darling and close to beautiful ocean views and sunsets. We enjoyed coffee and quiet time in the garden in the mornings. The cottage is darling and well equipped with all we needed. We had four adult women all family and were very comfortable.

The cottage is close enough to stay connected to the local scene (walk to the public beach, restaurants, dining and shopping) but far enough away to enjoy quite relaxation, sounds of splashing waves, and the ease of on-street parking - often right in front of the cottage.

The Garden Cottage sits two blocks from the coastline and secluded beaches, and is a short 5-20 min stroll to shops, restaurants, entertainment, and the public beach - offering lifeguard-supervised swimming and surfing areas, restrooms, and showers.

The Garden Cottage is also centrally located and a short 5-15 min drive to most area Universities, Sea World, Downtown/Convention Center, and Balboa Park - the nation's largest urban cultural park. Balboa Park is home to 15 major museums, renowned performing arts venues, beautiful gardens and the world famous San Diego Zoo. The Park has an ever-changing calendar of museum exhibitions, plays, musicals, concerts, and classes—all in the beautiful and timeless setting.
