Suite am Strand - Sehr selten White Sand Beachfront- Herz des Nationalparks

We were disheartened to learn that this guest's experience did not match her expectation of our home. She did not voice her disappointment to us live and we had numerous interactions with her including on her last afternoon when we spoke on the beach. To address some of her concerns: The very first sentence of our listing description states that the house is "Perched on the hill 50 yards above the beach", and there is a photo clearly showing the house on the hill above the beach, so there should not be any confusion as to the proximity to Peter Bay beach. Our property does in fact go all the way down and touch the beach. It is indeed a relatively steep hill with a stone stairway required for access, so we do concede that it could prove challenging to some. It's about a 2 minute walk down to the beach and a 3 or 4 minute walk back up. This is incredible beach proximity on St John which is 3/4 National Park with virtually no accommodation/development on any NPS beaches except camping, We do not own/control the beach itself, all shoreline in the USVI is public. The beach is subject to the forces of nature and as such the condition of the beach does change from day to day, week to week etc so sometimes it is sandy, sometimes rocky, sometimes there is seaweed, sometimes the water is clear, sometimes cloudy - all of this change is normal. It is a national park, not a theme park nor resort, so sometimes people's expectations are not set correctly to experience nature in its untouched state. We submit that Peter Bay is absolutely gorgeous at any/every particular time. Her assertion that the beach photos in our listing are of a different beach are simply untrue, as a simple google search of Peter Bay Beach will reveal. It is true that the view is looking through coconut, mango and banana trees out over the ocean. In our humble opinion this vegetation does not obstruct the view, it enhances it - and it is indeed spectacular. Even this reviewer's awkwardly angled review photo captures some of the view's beauty. Lastly, with respect to price point, there is simply nothing else like our location - not even at double the price. The unit has no TV and no frills but is located right in the heart of the National Park, with the closest proximity possible on St John to beaches, trails and all that the Park has to offer. Please book your stay early as the suite is very popular and always sells out early. We look forward to hopefully hosting you soon on beautiful St John!
