I always love staying in Katamon when visiting Israel. It has a special feel to it, and it's close to everything.
The apartment was great but it can use some updating; it just feels old and outdated. Also, the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms are very very small. Once you take out the trundle, there's barely any room to move. Need to live out of the suitcase in those rooms, as no closets either.
1. There were ants in the kitchen and bathroom. I noticed a few bottles of ant spray under the kitchen sink, so it seems it's a known issue.
2. The water pressure is atrocious. There are 2 showers, but don't try using both at once, or there will be zero pressure in either. Even flushing a toilet while in the shower will severely cut down the water pressure. That was a big issue that I'm not sure if it was known, but was unpleasant.
Even with the above issues, overall, we had a great time. If I was to stay there again, I would prefer to see the apartment updated as well as the issues I mentioned to be addressed.
