This beautiful villa newly restored with private pool offers an ideal solution for people who want to visit Rome, Florence, Perugia, Assisi and leave at the same time in the countryside, out of traffic and pollution. The casale (Italian typical farmhouse) is located 2 km from the Umbrian hilltop village of Otricoli, less that 1 hour drive from Florence, Rome, Perugia. It was built on the ruins of a small Roman villa and all the area around is dotted of roman ruins. The farmhouse has an private swimming pool all for you a volley court, ping pong table, and a nearby horse riding club.

The living room has a large working fire-place, the dining room beautiful windows facing the valley, and the 3 bedrooms are all charming and cozy and each has its own bathroom. Terra cotta on the floor, wooden roof, elegant and country style fabrics and old furniture. The guardian leaves 300 m. from the villa and takes care of the garden and the swimming pool, his wife cleans it before and after your arrival and could help you during your stay too.

Holiday stay

Lovely house with fabulous views. It was a perfect location to spend the week. Alex was fantastic and a brilliant host. Well equipped with loads of space both inside and out and something for all the family. We loved it.

Had a wonderful time

The house was comfortable and spacious. The kids loved the pool and table tennis. Our aim was to have a quiet holiday and we certainly did. We saw so many beautiful towns ate fantastic food so on the whole it was great. Thank you Alessandra!

A week of full relaxation

We fully enjoyed our visit to the Casa Rosso. The house was just excellent for 2x adult couples. Well equipped and furnished with taste. When needed the air-con units in all areas functioned perfectly and silently.The hostess, Alexandra, spoke fluent English and was always when needed quick to answer any Qs we had.

A piece of Paradise one hour from Rome

It was a beautiful time we had in Otricoli. The house is stunning with so much privacy. The rooms are all well equipped and the green space outside is huge. The Kids enjoyed the pool and the barbecue as well as all the nature around. Alessandra, the host, was always available and the communication was fast and prompt! A true dream, we want to go back!

A beautiful house in a beautiful location. Perfect for a family. We spent a lot of time in the stunning swimming pool, cooling down and taking in the spectacular views. Lots of table tennis and then football when the temperature allowed. Incredible Roman ruins on the doorstep. Idyllic village of Otricoli a stones throw away.

Wonderful

The Red House was an excellent place to stay. Otricoli and the surrounding area are just a short walk away, which means you can leave the car at home. The house was very clean and tidy, but remember to buy and place some ant traps if having insects around the place bothers you :) All in all, a top 5 star house and an excellent host

Marvellous view, extra charges

Really nice house with marvellous view and good equipment in and outside. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Were however after checking out unpleasantly charged with extra costs without any alignment. This was in contrast to the warm welcome we received.

Bonsoir Inge, je suis triste de voir que vous m'avez donnée seulement 3 étoiles, c'est la premiere fois, je reçois toujours 5 étoiles par mes hotes, mais sour tout je suis triste de constater que la mauvaise appreciation était du au fait que je vous ai demandé 150 euro de dédommagement pour une chaise que vous avez cassée pendant votre sejour (sans meme m'en informer). La chaise a une grande valeur mais avec 150 euro un menusier sera capable de la remettre en ordre. Breathtaking views, great location and beautiful home.

Perfect place to end our Italian tour. After three weeks of touring Italy we spent a wonderful 6 days at the Red house in Otricoli. The House is located close to the town of Otricoli in a historic Roman archeological zone. The whole area is like an outdoor museum and only a short walk away from the house. The views from the house and grounds are quite stunning with a great vista over the West side of the valley. Otricoli is also a very historical walled town (typical of the Umbria), Lots of narrow, cobbled streets and great views from the top of the walls. It has a few small supermarkets and some good restaurants, but if you are planning to stay a week or so an extra 15 to 20 minute drive will get you to larger towns and larger supermarkets. The Red House was well equipped and Alexandra said to contact her if we needed anything. Nassur (the gardener) came and cleaned up the yards and pool. The place was well cared for and in perfect condition, a great place from which to explore Umbria. It was a pleasure to meet Alexandra and she went out of her way to ensure we had all the information we needed for her home and surrounding area. We loved our time at the Red House and hope to return someday.

Nice villa in beautiful Umbrian landscape. All key facilities well functioning. Easy to reach (A1)

Casa Rossa is a beautiful country house with real history (built on ancient roman ruins). The house itself is spacy (we were 7 people there) and equipped with all necessary functionalities like dishwasher in the kitchen, washing maschine, three bathrooms etc. and importantly all the rooms are equipped with AC. Surroundings are pretty quiet near archelogical site and views from the villa to fields and hills is beatiful and relaxing. Swimming pool is not huge but nicely placed, clean and refreshing. Other activities are outdoor pingpong and football (yes, there is a little football field). The Otricoli village nearby is really small, a liitle supermarket, couple of restaurants, a bar and a pharmacy. That's it. You mat get all you need from there but we drove few kilometers to Magliano Sabina to a bigger supermarket and nice bakery and coffee shop. Casa Rossa is very conveniently located, easy to reach from Rome airport and within 2 hours drive from some of the Tuscanian destinations like Siena, Arezzo or Florence.

Beautiful home in a spectacular setting!

Alessandra's home is even more beautiful in person than in the photos! The comfort and beauty was in every detail of the home and gardens, and the beautifully sited pool was a wonderful gathering spot in the mid- day August heat. The town of Otricoli was just delightful. The biggest surprise was to see the Roman era walls on which this renovated home was erected, and to walk a few yards to a historical Roman era archeological site,Ocriculum, which we visited several times, almost undisturbed by other visitors.

Magnifique maison

La maison est magnifique. Les extérieurs sur différents niveaux sont un enchantement. Nous sommes restés 2 semaines et avons largement profité de la région. Rome à 45 minutes en voiture est un vrai plus. Le village est agréable, le restaurant Delizie et le bar/gélatéria sont incontournables. Petit budget et accueil adorable. Nous remercions Alessandra pour son accueil, sa confiance et son bon goût.

Otricoli, bella scoperta!

Otricoli e l'Umbria sono state una bellissima scoperta. Posti meravigliosi, gente accogliente, buon cibo e ottimo vino. La casa è di grande fascino: è costruita su un antico muro romano e la vicinissima zona archeologica di Ocriculum è stata la meta delle nostre passeggiate serali. Un unico appunto: in tutte le stanze l'arredamento è bianco e rosso e...io non amo il rosso! Ma mio marito era entusiasta! Alessandra

La vraie Dolce Vita !

Merci vraiment Alessandra, pour ces 15 jours que nous avons passé dans votre magnifique maison ! Ce ne fut que pur bonheur ! La maison est magnifique, divinement décorée et équipée (manque peut être un four micro-ondes), la vue de la piscine est splendide. De plus, Otricoli est très bien situé pour visiter les villages d'Ombrie ( Perouze, Assise, Orvieto, Spolète etc .... ) et évidement Rome ! Otricoli propose des commerces idéales avec d'excellents produits régionaux (pâtes, charcuterie, viandes, glaces excellentes au petit café du coin avec super vue sur la campagne etc...) Bref, nous avons passé, petits et grands, des vacances de rêve ! Un grand merci et j'espère à très bientôt car la maison rouge va terriblement nous manquer !

Maison de charme en Ombrie - Italie

Le charme à l’état pur ! La maison rouge nous a enchantée. Les nombreuses fenêtres avec chaque fois une très belle vue apportent une luminosité et une ambiance chaleureuse. Les chambres sont une décorées de couleurs douces mais colorées et sont reposantes. Une salle de bain dans chaque chambre, tout est étudié de façon a ce que chacun aie son propre espace, c'est parfait et en plus l’ensemble est très cosy! La cuisine est gaie et est très fonctionnelle! Vraiment une très jolie maison de charme! Tout était agréablement et calme, piscine impeccable, pour le bonheur de tous. Un grand merci a la propriétaire qui est très sympathique, disponible et pleins de bons conseils pour rendre notre séjour le plus agréable et pour découvrir la région. Toutes les personnes du village Otricoli que nous avons rencontrés (gelletaria, restaurant...) on été adorables avec nous. Vraiment une adresse à recommander!" Vivement notre prochain séjour!

Séjour au calme au milieu d'un site archéologique

La villa est conforme au descriptif, au calme. Literie de très bonne qualité. Climatisation et moustiquaires très utiles en juillet. Beau jardin et entretien régulier de la piscine. Ménage et changement du linge de maison réguliers. La propriétaire est très avenante, polyglotte et très réactive en cas de problème technique. Un excellent souvenir !

"L''environnement de cette maison est exceptionnel. La vue champêtre, le calme, la proximité (balade du matin ou du soir ) de l''aire archéologique, le jardin,la piscine, c''est vraiment très agréable. La maison est grande et possède tout ce qu''il faut pour une famille. La situation géographique d''Otricoli permet de visiter la région avec des sites à 1/2h - 1h de voiture, et il y a le train à Orte (15min) pour Rome. Entretien tous les 2/3 jours du jardin et de la maison. La propriétaire parle le français et c''est un vrai + si vous ne parlez pas italien..."

"Une maison sur des ruines romaines, c''est tres rare ! La vue sur la campagne est magnifique, la piscine est tres agreable, nous en avons bien profite avec toute la famille. La maison est bien equipee, avec air conditionne, Wifi, et tout ce qu''il faut pour passer un agreable sejour. La maison est aussi tres bien situee, entre l''Ombrie et la Lazio, avec de superbes excursions a faire dans les nombreux villages et villes pittoresques avoisinants. La gastronomie locale est delicieuse. La proprietaire nous a reserve un accueil chaleureux et le gardien et sa femme sont tres sympas aussi. Somme toute, un sejour reussi !"
