Oh dear about the ants. I think you let Vera know and she dealt with it pretty immediately? We haven’t heard anything else about them since your stay a few weeks ago so thank you for letting us know there was an issue so that we could fix it.

I am sorry you found the house so unsatisfactory. I am currently staying here and have seen 3 flies. In regards to the screens, I have done an audit, and of the 33 I did find 2 with holes (< 1-2”) and will be patching those this week. Those flies are Houdinis indeed to have found the holes. And, yes, we do not provide linens, which is a DE thing, and ensure full disclosure before booking. To clarify, the house is a 4 square beach cottage from 1908 and is a very standard floor plan for the era. We have painted every inch of the cedar walls in light colors and have redone the bathrooms, windows, flooring, and the kitchen is 2024. Any more renovating would require a teardown. The majority of the furniture is less than 7 years old and we find it enough to accommodate the 12 guests who can be staying here at any given time. We do have some pieces that are older, but we don’t toss them because we find people often fall asleep on them and why ruin a good thing! And the throw pillows are on the furniture to help add comfort and options for long periods of sitting/socializing. Aaaah,the signs. The signs are to help guests figure out the logistics of the house and to provide guidance to help make their stay easier. We have attempted a little whimsy and humour to make people smile whilst on their vacation.
