At the last minute, I needed to travel to Tallahassee for a night, but had some unique housing needs and some "wish lists" (mini refriderator, coffee pot, larger hotel room etc). My mother, who is in her mid 80's and I were coming to town to visit a relative, but much to our dismay I could not find any available hotel rooms or even a Bed and Breakfast? Unbeknowest to us, that weekend was student orientation for all incoming freshman students for FSU & FAMU! That means thousands of parents and teenagers had already booked accomodations months ahead. I took a chance on contacting the owner of this property and I am so glad I did. He responded immediately and was so understanding of what my last minute needs were. Also, his wife, Robin was so gracious when we arrived the next day and even had a basket of goodies for us to enjoy. The "chalet" is nestled in the corner of their beautiful piece of property and is a 2 bed/2 bath/full kitchen/living room/dining area. It was like a dream come true and more than anything we could have "wished for." It is almost brand new, impeccably clean, fully stocked with melt away comfortable beds. Thank you Mr/Mrs Reece for hosting us and we will be back!
A sunny and pleasing place to spend time; bedrooms, dining area and living room all have southern exposure. Much privacy, outdoor eating area. Very convenient location to downtown, yet on a quiet street.
This is the best secret in Tallahassee, a real find. My wife and I are retired in Montana but try to get out every winter for a month or so. We have used vacation rentals in New Mexico and California, but this is one of the best.
We chose Tallahassee this year in order to visit our son (an FSU student) and his family. The 2-BR chalet is a separate small house located on a private compound behind the owner’s house. The compound also includes a swimming pool, a private drive entrance, and a second vacation rental (1-BR). The chalet is protected by tall fences and vegetation, and has a beautiful redwood deck and patio with outdoor table and chairs for our exclusive use. If the weather permits, you can have private lunches or breakfasts beneath a canopy of large oak and smaller Florida fruit trees and lots of plants. The house is stylish, modern and sophisticated in its decor, and has lots of windows, making it nice and sunny. The beds are very comfortable.
Set in an older neighborhood in the desirable Mid Town section of Tallahassee, we were near the city center and university, but still a few blocks off the beaten track, secluded and quiet. The owners couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful, checking in with us to ensure we had everything we needed, and even providing a chalet cleaning service for only 50 dollars, which was excellent. We would rate the chalet A plus. We would love to stay here again, and plan to recommend it to our friends. We have found it to be the best short-term living opportunity in town. Our Siamese cat enjoyed it, too!
This was a perfect place to stay while visiting our son at FSU! Stuart personally welcomed us and gave us a tour of our rental. A nice patio area to enjoy the pool and sit around and talk, a goodie basket with some snacks and drinks to get us started, and comfortable couches and beds to relax in. I wanted a place where we could hang out and visit with our freshman son and his new friends...we could not of asked for more! We were able to walk to downtown Tallahassee and enjoy the farmers market and restaurants, explore Lake Ella and do some shopping. We loved the space, location and our host! We will be back to enjoy more visits during his college years!
Nicely decorated, lovely garden pool area shared with owners' home and additional rental bungalow. A welcoming goodie basket in the kitchen and toiletries in the bathrooms were a nice touch. We were disappointed that money was deducted from our "pet deposit" to vacuum up the dog hair left by our short hair terrier mix when it could not have required any more than what I would consider routine cleaning between renters.
My husband and I are currently staying in this gorgeous chalet as we wait to move into our permanent home. I don't want to leave!! The property is gorgeous and private, like a tropical oasis. The chalet is open, bright and airy with all the amenities. The pool is clean and relaxing. We love the location, so easy to get anywhere in Tallahassee. The owners- EXCEPTIONAL!! When we arrived, we had a basket of goodies, soap and the necessities. They keep the property so nice and are there to answer any questions. They are friendly and allow you to have privacy. For anyone who want a wonderful stay in Tallahassee, my husband and I highly recommend this Guest Quarters!!
