David, It was great having you and your guests stay in our home. I would say you left the home cleaner than any quest I've had in it. My cleaning people basically twiddled their thumbs after your stay. Thanks! Regarding the use of the fireplaces, I am not sure what you are referring to. The only fireplace we ask not to be used is the one in the basement. The one in the master bedroom, the living room and the outdoor fireplace as well as the fire pit are all OK to use. Our house rules spell that out. There was also wood there for your use. I hope you can make it back again in the future and take advantage of that. Regarding heating of the pool, it is a 36,000 gallon pool and would take an enormous number of solar panels to heat it effectively. I do intend to add that in the future, but for now, the pool does start cooling down this time of the year. My kids and I can still handle the temp this time of year, but some people can't. I really don't start winterizing for another month or so. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks!

There is plenty of outdoor furniture at the property. However, on occasion, guests will move all the furniture from the deck area down to the pool if they have very large gatherings. My guess is the prior guests moved the furniture and my cleaning crew failed to move some of it back onto the deck area. The house is always swept and vacuumed inside and out before every guest arrives. The home is 8600 square feet, so perhaps there was an area that may not have been caught by the cleaners. But I know the majority of it had to have been cleaned. My wife and I typically follow up after our cleaners finish, and occasionally we have to do final touches that they have missed, but we were on a trip out of town during this time for 6 weeks and I imagine that the cleaners may have missed some area. But I know that the majority of the home was swept and vacuumed, because we have never had that problem in the past with them. There are MANY MANY decorations throughout this 8600 square foot home. To make a blanket application that all decorations were dusty is not accurate. After receiving this review I went through the house and the only thing that may have been considered to have a lot of dust was two artificial trees. Those leaves had a lot of dust, but definitely nothing else could be considered "very thick" in dust. Regarding supplies, we always leave enough supplies for most guests. There is never a need for guests to bring their own supplies. This was a large group and, as the guest herself stated, Billy was able to help any time they needed it and that includes providing supplies. We have closets that we keep locked that are full of supplies, and someone is always less than 5 minutes away from providing them, should they run out. As you can see from our past reviews, the vast majority are 5 star and that is because we pride ourselves in providing a wonderful experience for our guests. Additionally, we have large groups that make this their destination every year because we do make this home a very awesome experience.

Shannon and her group were great to have as guests. Unfortunately there was an issue with 2 of the 5 air conditioners in the home, but not for 3 days. I had informed Shannon prior to their arrival that I would be at a camp for foster kids during the first few days of their stay and would only have access to my phone at limited times during those days. On the first day of their stay they tried to contact me over the vrbo site about the AC. I called the number that they had listed on vrbo twice during that day and left messages, but never had a return call or text so I assumed it was just a thermostat setting issue and that they must have resolved it. The next day I saw that they had messaged that they still had an issue. I finally found out that they had tried to contact my daughter from a different number and so I called that number and attempted to step them through settings on the thermostat and determined that the issue would require a technician. I called a tech and they were able to come out that evening and repair the AC in the master bedroom and said he'd return the following day to fix the final unit. The tech did not come the next day as he had promised. By that time I had come back from camp and went out and reset the unit myself and it started working. However, the next morning they called and it was not working once again so I had a tech come out and he replaced a capacitor and all units were up and running. Every time I spoke with them they verbalized to me that, with the fans running, things were acceptable. I have never had a problem with offering compensation in a case where I may have failed to provide something or by my own negligence a guest had problems. In this situation, had they asked for compensation, I would have been willing to work with them. However, the AC was working the day prior to their arrival and there was no indication of an issue and I've never had an issue with these two units. Additionally, when I was contacted about the issue and again contacted regarding the recurrence of the 2nd unit, I immediately responded and each time they related to me that they were thankful for everything and that the fans were helping in the mean time. I assumed that since 3 other AC units were working, and because they had fans positioned to pull air from the bedroom area where the AC was working, that things were fine since they didn't indicate otherwise. Had they given any indication they wanted compensation I would have given it.
