DAS COTTAGE AM MEER AUF DER DAUFUSKIE-INSEL

Dieses schöne Cottage mit zwei Schlafzimmern hat alles! Direkt am Strand mit atemberaubendem Blick auf das Meer gelegen, verfügt Ihr Ferienhaus über eine unschlagbare Lage. Sie werden innerhalb einer Minute zu Fuß zum Strand sein.

Alle modernen Annehmlichkeiten sind vorhanden, darunter Flachbildfernseher in jedem Zimmer, Premium-Direkt-TV-Kabelkanäle, kostenloses WLAN und eine voll ausgestattete Küche.

2019 erhalten die Gäste außerdem einen kostenlosen Golfwagen für 4 Personen.

Bis zu 6 Mieter können den nahe gelegenen Melrose-Pool (zu Fuß erreichbar) dank Ihres Eigentümers kostenlos nutzen.

Das Ferienhaus selbst ist perfekt für einen Familienurlaub, für einen Golfurlaub oder einfach für ein altmodisches Beisammensein von Freunden. Die zwei geräumigen Schlafzimmer mit einer Gesamtfläche von 1.500 Quadratmetern (ohne Veranda mit Sichtschutz auf den Ozean) verfügen jeweils über zwei Queensize-Betten und ein eigenes Bad. Dieses helle und gut beleuchtete Cottage verfügt über einen frei fließenden und offenen Grundriss, der zu jeder Zeit einen Blick auf das Meer bietet. Die Dekoration ist geschmackvoll und erholsam, und die abgeschirmte Veranda ist perfekt, um einen Sonnenaufgang über dem Meer zu genießen, während Sie Ihren Morgenkaffee trinken oder einen Cocktail am Ende des Tages genießen.

Viele Besucher genießen es, die Insel mit dem Fahrrad zu erkunden, das sie mieten können, oder einfach schöne lange Spaziergänge zu unternehmen.

Die Tierwelt ist reich und atemberaubend. Sie befinden sich in der Nähe einer Kolonie von Weißen Reihern und Waldstörchen, in der sich Hunderte dieser anmutigen Vögel für die Nacht niederlassen. Diejenigen, die es schnell merken, dass sie ein verstecktes Inseljuwel entdeckt haben, nur eine kurze Bootsfahrt vom Festland entfernt. Ruhiges, entspanntes und einzigartiges, wunderschönes Daufuskie wird von Oldtimern als Hilton Head ähnlich beschrieben, bevor eine Brücke diese Insel mit dem Festland verband. Perfect house in perfect location

Doggie and me!

This was the nicest little vaca. We enjoyed the beach and the island. The folks are so friendly and dog friendly! The cottage was so cute and the location was great! Very comfy and cozy! Everyone made arrangements easy from the ferry over to the island to the golf cart rental. Transport from cottage to dock was not up to par.

Post Hurricane Matthew Trip

Although we were reluctant to visit Daufuskie Island post Hurricane Matthew, we decided to go anyways. It was a wonderful visit, the restaurants were back open and business was about as close to normal as I could have ever imagined. Deborah, the property manager, was super accommodating and very helpful providing us all the information about the rental and services available on the island. We definitely will be returning and hope to get the same unit on our next visit.

A wonderful week

The cottage was very clean and well taken of. Two very spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. The view from the front bedroom was just wonderful, you woke up to the sunrise! We used the grill, it also was clean and well maintained. We cooked virtually every meal in the house and the kitchen was great. Deborah provided extensive information on everything have to with the island, both before arrival and at the house in a notebook. For a first time Daufuskie Island visitor, this was crucial, you need a boat to get here, a ride from the boat to your house and a golf cart, she had good recommendations for it all. This island is a different sort of getaway and I feel we got a very realistic idea of what we were getting into (no grocery store, etc) We had a wonderful week and would highly recommend renting from Deborah!

Very clean home. Deborah, property manager, made sure all our needs were met. Great communication!

Had a great time on Daufuskie Island. What a unique place to go to unwind. The house was very clean, well furnished, and had all the things we needed. Ocean view with great sunrises right out the front door. Even when our son had some trouble one day with WiFi to finish a school assignment, Deborah even offered for him to go to her house (right across the street) to use her own WiFi. Furthermore, when I had an issue with a credit card charge from a local establishment that I discovered AFTER the trip, she very willingly helped me to get it resolved. The only thing we had to worry about during the trip was getting up, hopping in the golf cart and heading over to the School Grounds coffee shop for morning espresso 😁. Now my only objective is to find a way to start a business on Daufuskie and leave the ‘world’ behind! Fun times, super nice people there!

Perfect cottage and ocean view!

We chose this cottage after reviewing online and discussing with Deborah Smith. We were so happy with this choice. It is VERY spacious. The layout of the cottage is perfect. Lots of room for everyone. We had 4 adults and 5 kids aged 12 to 6 and there was never an issue of feeling cramped. It is beautifully updated and decorated and very comfortable. Having the golf cart included was an added plus. We spent most of our time on the beach or discovering sites on the island, but when we were at the cottage, we were mainly on the screened-in porch. The information packet that Deborah sends prior to your visit is full of fantastic & necessary information. We had never been to Daufuskie, but felt very prepared. I was so glad I made dinner reservations in advance. People that hadn't made reservations were turned away in some instances. We would love to return and would rent the Seaside Cottage again. Next time, we will stay longer!

Very nice home. But Island is in need of investment.

We really enjoyed our stay and want to come back. The Island is a wonderful, unique place. We really fell in love with it! It is so sad however that the Melrose resort where the cottage is located is standing abandoned and deteriorating. I understand that the main resort building has been empty since 2006 and after hurricane Mathew the golf club is also closed and unattended. The cleanup from hurricane Mathew is not finished yet, and we were pretty shocked when we arrived to see a multitude of trees down and lining the streets six feet high. Apparently the state of the island is much much better than it was, but for someone not prepared it is a little disturbing. There is evidence of the destruction all over the island but seems the worst at Melrose. Dispite all that it was a truly magical time. The cottage is well appointed and very comfortable and spacious. We had a terrible first night because our golf cart died extremely quickly and we were stranded. Had to pay out the nose for taxi transit. Which btw seems like highway robbery. The next day Deborah gave us a new cart that lasted "100 times" longer. After that we were able to explore the entire island on one charge and had a great time. The people on Daufuski are incredibly friendly. We were invited in to a beautiful home after stopping to ask questions about the neighborhood. I was astounded by how friendly and open the island is . There seemed to be a little disorganization or confusion with our arrangements but all in all a wonderful stay. I think they have been through a lot.

Exceptional Vacation Home - Fabulous Island - Great Staff - Couldn't Have Loved It More!!

If you are wondering whether or not to go to Daufuskie, and are concerned that it's too much hassle...JUST GO! YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY!!! The Seaside Cottage is perfect!! Squeaky clean, beachy colors and lovely decor! And the view! Mornings start by sitting on the screened porch sipping my coffee, enjoying the ocean. Comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen; Flat screen TVs with premium cable; weber grill for grilling steaks. And I loved my little golf cart provided by the owner to get around the island! It's just plain fun! Deborah and Karen with the rental agency could not have been more helpful or friendly. Wow... It's funny...I've spent a lot more money traveling to other countries to have a unique travel experience...and all along here's little Daufuskie just off the coast of South Carolina! It's hard to describe the effect this quirky, charming, friendly, historic little island has on you. From the moment you step off the boat you know you are in a different and very special world. Half the fun of Daufuskie is discovering it yourself.. But here's a short version: A rookery chock full of endangered or threatened birds, including wood storks, herons and egrets...The funky Iron Fish Art Gallery run by the charismatic Chase Allen...Walking on the beach at sunrise...AND I'M THE ONLY ONE THERE...The historic African Union Baptist church found on a dirt road covered by a massive canopy of trees...watching horseback riders heading for the beach, followed by little Nemo, cutest pony in the world...Enjoying sunset with a Scrap Iron (a drink!) and near a brass bull (why? beats me) at the Old Daufuskie Crab Company...Lancy Burn at the Silver Dew Pottery talking about his trips across the Atlantic in a sail boat (which is parked next to his studio!)...Sacred cemeteries and tabby ruins...Fresh shrimp and Daufuskie Devil Crab on Saturday afternoons...Dips in the beautiful Melrose pool...The General Store at Freeport Marina packed full of fun stuff, and also beautiful Spartina purses made by a former Daufuskie resident...half price!...driving past the state's smallest public school (15 kids!)...A community farm with goats, chickens, and a cow named Muffin...and the whole time gliding through the island on my own little golf cart, waving back at everyone I pass. At night, the sounds of silence...no traffic...moonlight over the ocean. Honestly, in my view it just doesn't get better than Daufuskie. As I said....JUST GO! I promise you won't be sorry.

Wonderful Adventure!

This was our first time on Daufuskie Island and it did not disappoint! There were a lot of pieces to put together in order to ensure we had a successful vacation but every step of the way someone was available and willing to help us with any questions we had or suggestions for us! Pay attention to all the information you receive. There are a lot of instructions to follow, times to take note of, schedules to adhere to, and packing to be done but trust me they told me everything to consider along the way, and had I not done so our vacation would not have been nice as it was! We fell in love with this island, the beach, the trees, the quietness, the people everything about it. Our home was very comfortable and in a great location! Even after exploring the entire island, I think I would still choose to come back to these rentals. I loved being steps away from the beach. I loved the outdoor shower to rinse off sand too! There are a few properties still being worked on but I'm excited to see the progress next time we visit. I hope the pool and restaurant will have new owners by then and be available. I can see that being a major advantage to staying on Daufuskie! I contacted the property manager and his group many times during my stay with everything from a medical issue to where could I buy a flashlight and received a very kind prompt response every time. This is a wonderful team to work with and a great location to stay. We cannot wait to visit again!

Relaxing and calm

Our cottage was just as presented, very clean and appealing. Set up w several spices and lots of good quality utensils in the kitchen. The yard and beach area we perfect for walks and sunbathing. My daughter and daughter-in-law and myself thoroughly enjoyed our time together at the cottage and our travels about the island on our golf cart. The arrangements to and from the island were seem less. Captain Dan was wonderful to work with. Communication with the management was timely and efficient.

Daufuskie delight

The cottage was perfect and as described in pictures on vrbo. We had no issues with the Seaside Cottage. Perfect for two couples. Beach just steps away! Lovely place to unwind and relax with friends. Sad the pool and restaurant was closed but understand it was due to the resort being recently purchased . We are hoping the transition with the resort will go well for the Island and her resident. Everyone was very kind and hospitable…:). Thank you, Daufuskie.💕

We have been going to Daufuskie since the 80's. My parents used to live there half the year. The cottage was great but the fact that the people I was supposed to contact had "stepped back" or were no longer with the company, was a problem. I contacted DRG not vice versa. I know daufuskie well but to advertise a pool and add a disclaimer is not acceptable. Price adjustments should be made and stop advertising a pool.

Beach cottage on spring break

This cottage is GORGEOUS! It was very clean and had every amenity you could think of! The property manager was very responsive and helped out with check in and questions in a timely manner. Seaside Heaven

Cathie is the most gracious helpful host any visitor can ask for! We had a personal issue and had to get something on the island and Cathie went out of her way and was beyond helpful in making it happen. The house is so welcoming, warm and immaculate. It met all our needs and more. Having a cup of coffee in the screened in porch watching the sunrise was one of my favorite parts of the day! Thank you, Cathie and Seaside, see you real soon! Wonderful

We had a wonderful stay in Daufuskie. The cottage has a beautiful view of and direct access to the beach. This is the spot to watch the amazing sunrises on Daufuskie. The cottage was clean and well-stocked . Would definitely return!

Relaxing and pleasant!!

Such a wonderful holiday weekend. The home had all the amenities needed for our Thanksgiving. Very comfortable and relaxing. Deborah and her team were very accommodating and pleasant.
