Mila Postira Brac - App for 6. Close to the beach, ideal for families.

Apartment Mila, as we call it, a house in Postira, was built in 1960. Frano Baće – a Croatian graphic artist (1911 - 1993), imagined the house as a painting studio with a library. It was built by masters of the time, one of whom was master Mikulica from the island of Brač. So the entire house is a certain historical landmark that reflects the indigenous architecture adapted to the weather conditions. The vacation that guests can imagine in this house is the vacation that people had in the second half of the 20th century – the emphasis is on rustic. So guests do not expect the splendor that is offered in hotels. There are two bedrooms, a master bedroom and a bunk bed room, while 2 people can sleep in the living room, so it is an accommodation for 6 people.

The rocky and pebble beaches are within 100 m range. In the bottom of the bay there is sand beach and on the other side of the bay there are rocky and fkk beaches.

Postira have a market, pharmacy, post office, caffe bars, pizzeria, fast food, butchery, green market during the summer season, fish restaurants. There is a beach Lovrecina, sandy beach 7 km eastbound. Island Brac offers bicycle routes, and they are popular in April, May, September and October, since it is too hot in the summer for such activities.

The largest front terrace of the apartment is shared with the neighboring part of the house, because apartment Mila is the left part of the house of 59 square meters with an accompanying barbecue terrace and a covered terrace with a stone table. Due to the pine forest surrounding the house, pine needles and the smell of pine have crept everywhere in the last 65 years, along with the “dirt” that accompanies that pine. Pinewood is great for lung patients who can refresh themselves here. So guests who come to this facility should prepare for a certain dose of rusticity. The sheets that will greet you on the beds may not be ironed according to the criteria you imagined, but they have been washed at 90 degrees in a washing machine (the photos from the bathroom show an old machine, while a new one was purchased afterwards) and dried in the sun and wind in the yard. The same is the case with towels. Fabric softener is not used in the washing, since there were guests who were allergic to it and the management decided against it.

The photos you see may show you what you want to see, keep that in mind. The actual situation may not match the romance you imagined, but it can easily create another romance that you cannot imagine until you have stayed here for a few days. The internet works, but keep in mind that during the season it can easily lag due to the amount of tourism and the lack of island infrastructure. Due to strong gusts of wind, all doors and windows in the apartment should be closed, or left open, and blocked so that the wind does not slam them and brake the glass.

It is very likely that you will find radiators in the corner of the living room, because they move to the bedrooms during the cold season, which is good news because it means that you can stay in the house even during the cold season and you will not be cold. There is also a tiled wood stove. There are no radiators in the photos. The lamps that you see in the night photos of the terrace are located in the house, because there is a lot of wind and the lamps would easily break if they were left outside all the time. So guests are offered the choice to place the lamps on the terrace themselves. Also, there are cushions for the outdoor terrace in the house that are stored on the same radiators and there are plenty of them, so guests are given the opportunity to create their own stay on the terrace. Guests are asked to bring pillows into the apartment, because cats could sleep on them, and birds and pine resin could stain them. There are many cats in Postira that roam freely and are not owned by anyone. It is not recommended to provoke the animals because they will defend themselves by scratching or biting.
Since the apartment is located in a pine forest, there is a high probability that pine needles will be everywhere. The terraces are cleaned of needles before the guests arrive, but they are not cleaned while the guests are staying in the apartment. The current living room used to be a library, as can be seen in the photos, there are still books on the shelves. There could very well be a little dust on those books, as is common in libraries.
The garden surrounding the house is full of Mediterranean plants. The left part of the garden, which slopes towards the apartment, is at the guests' disposal. Guests are allowed to place garden chairs, deck chairs or hammocks as they wish in the garden and on the terraces, as long as they do not destroy the plants. Some of the plants, such as pomegranates, raspberries, prickly pears and citrus fruits, have thorns, so guests are advised to be careful. Also, poisonous oleanders grow in the garden and should be avoided.
Barbecue is possible. Guests are provided with wood for the barbecue. A rubber water hose has been installed on the terrace for safety. Considering the island and its resources, guests are asked to be environmentally conscious and not to use more wood than necessary, and to recycle cardboard, plastic, glass and metal. Guests do not need to worry about the collection of sorted waste. Nor do they need to worry about the collection of mixed waste. The wood is stored in a shed to keep it dry, for better grilling, so that guests are served ready-made and high-quality wood.
