Wunderbare Idylle in Frankreich

Als wir am 4. Juni 2011 in Loco's Lodge ankamen, waren wir sofort begeistert. Das Haus und seine Lage sind noch schöner, als die Website es bereits erahnen lässt. Unsere spontane Meinung war: So ein schönes Haus hatten wir noch nie gemietet. Diese Meinung hat sich bis zum Ende unseres Urlaubes am 18.6. nicht geändert. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen und die Gast- und Tierfreundlichkeit von Mitch erneut in Anspruch nehmen. Unser beiden Hunde haben sich sofort an die Größe des Grundstückes und auch an die ausgiebigen Spaziergänge durch die Weiten Frankreichs gewöhnt. Sicher ebenso schnell wie wir an den vorzüglichen Wein der Region, von dem uns Mitch eine Auswahl als Willkommensgruß bereit stellte. Wir können nur sagen, dass der Rotwein aus Bio-Anbau (Les Hauts des Riquets - Mignon) vorzüglich ist. Natürlich haben wir uns auch für zu Hause in Mitchs Weingeschäft mit diesem tollen Wein eingedeckt. Wer Erholung braucht und trotzdem auf nichts, was man zu Hause hat, verzichten will, der ist bei Mitch in Loco's Lodge gut aufgehoben. Wir werden wieder kommen und das sagt ja wohl alles..... Herzliche Grüße aus Bergisch Gladbach....

Erholung pur

Vom 04.09. bis 18.09.2010 haben wir zwei traumhaft schöne Wochen in diesem Ferienhaus verbracht. Locos Lodge besticht durch seine wunderschöne, idyllische Lage. Die Begrüßung durch Mitch war sehr freundlich und für den größten Hunger war der Kühlschrank schon gefüllt. Hier genießt man absolute Ruhe und vermisst doch keinen Luxus. Das Haus ist liebevoll und umfassend ausgestattet. Rund um das Haus gibt es wundervolle Sitzmöglichkeiten, so kann man Sonne oder Schatten genießen, wie man es gerade braucht. Der sehr schön angelegte Pool wird von Mitch jeden Morgen gesäubert. Ein besonderes Highlight war der unvergleichbare Sonnenuntergang, den wir uns keinen Abend entgehen ließen. In der näheren Umgebung befinden sich sehr gute Restaurants, schöne Ausflugsziele und landestypische Märkte. Mitch hat in Eymet einen sehr guten Weinhandel und ihre Weine schmecken auch hier in Deutschland wunderbar. Wir kommen ganz sicher wieder!

An excellent well equipped home with stunning views. We spent some evenings sitting in the sun lounge watching the wildlife on the land. The pool was fantastic and very welcome especially in our first week when the temperature hit over 40c. Mitch cleaned the pool daily and topped up when necessary. Mitch was a great host but was very discreet.

Second visit to this beautiful gite hosted by the lovely Mitch & Charlie her gorgeous dog. Fabulous pool and beautiful scenery makes for a super relaxing holiday . Very comfortable gite with lots of space both inside & out . A fabulous conservatory overlooking fields for days when weather is not so good. We will definitely be coming back ! Mitch is so helpful replaced a microwave that died on us , so we could do our dogs vegetables , within a day .. thank you Mitch So many things to see around here and well within reach of some beautiful towns & villages . A perfect holiday and we’re sad to be leaving ! See you next year Mitch & Charlie

A little piece of heaven! Friendly, helpful but not intrusive host, excellent communications, well equipped property in peaceful surroundings with beautiful views and all sorts of wildlife - the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine. Excellent base to explore the local area (Eymet/Monflanquinr/Chateau de Bridoire etc) or just to enjoy the pool and completely unwind.

Loco’s Lodge where time stands still

We stayed for a week in July and could have stayed forever. The gite is rustic and perfectly appointed with Mitch on hand for any issues that may arise if you need her, but very discrete so you wouldn’t know she was there at all other times. The pool was kept sparkling clean by Mitch every morning. The location is so peaceful and quiet and we loved the visiting chicken! Lazun very close for daily bread and Eymet only 15-20 mins away for supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and the twice weekly markets (night market with lots of dinner options on a Tuesday and day market with groceries and craft stalls on Thursday). Absolutely fabulous stay, we will definitely be back!

A little slice of heaven

Our second year here. If you want to unwind among rolling countryside with glorious sunflower fields, casual strolls through picture perfect villages, taste sumptuous food and sup divine local wines, laze in the heat and float in the cool pool then this is the place to be. The property is artistically and immaculately dressed. The photos don't do it justice. The property manager is lovely, helpful and discreet, giving you the space you need. We'll definitely be going back for a third time.

Lovely “ Loco’s Lodge “

A deceptively spacious Gite which sits in beautiful quiet surroundings , only a short drive from Eymet and other pretty towns & villages. Super facilities for ourselves and our two Goldies ! This was a comfortable , well equipped Gite and the lovely Mitch …..the owner, was around to ensure if we needed anything we only had to ask. Lovely pool which Mitch cleaned daily . Plenty of room for our dogs to play and explore too. We have enjoyed 2 weeks of fabulous weather , just relaxing by the pool and enjoying eating our meals watching the sunset over the fields of sunflowers 🌻 No need to venture out as all you need is here , plenty of places to visit & activities if you do . This holiday has been one of our favourites and we would highly recommend “ Loco’s Lodge “ See you soon Mitch 😊🐾🐾

Wonderful stay at loco’s lodge

We had a wonderful 6 weeks at Loco’s Lodge this summer. The pictures on line don’t do it justice. It’s so very peaceful and quiet. Hardly any traffic, so very pleasant to walk or cycle. The villages of Lauzun, 10 mins drive, and Eymet, around 15 mins are really nice and have weekly markets and restaurants. Mitch, the landlady lives next door, but she is very discreet, hardly know she’s there unless you need her to be. She left us a lovely welcome pack with all the essentials, as well as several bottles of wine! We swam in the pool every day, which is spotlessly clean. Our dogs were also made very welcome. We will be back! Thanks again Mitch!

Vacances tranquilles

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour. Mitch la propriétaire est très gentille. Je pense que la maison aurait besoin d’un « rafraîchissement » car la peinture dans la chambre adulte est toute écaillée.il y a énormément de toiles d’araignées au plafond, peu rassurant pour mon épouse et ma fille qui ont une phobie de ces bêtes. A l’extérieur, les margelles de la piscine auraient aussi besoin d’être nettoyées. Cette location est idéale pour un couple avec adolescents, il y a une chambre avec lits doubles mais dans la deuxième chambre Les lits sont limites pour des adultes, mon fils fait 1m75 et il y était à l’étroit. Je recommande cette location sans problème car il ne manque rien pour passer de bonnes vacances.

Everything we had hoped for....

We spent two wonderful weeks at Loco's Lodge this September. We felt at home the moment we walked in - enhanced by Mitch's welcome package complete with flowers. food essentials and local wine! The gite is well laid out with everything on one floor, and the three terrace options were perfect for different times of the day - usually ending up with an evening glass of wine, enjoying the fabulous view of the valley. Mitch is the perfect host - always there when you need something, but otherwise leaving you to enjoy the peace and quiet. We couldn't have imagined a better choice.

Fabulous Holiday in a Wonderful Gite at a Beautiful Location

Having spent a tremendous week at Loco’s Lodge in 2017, we quickly concluded that the location and facilities perfectly suited our requirements, and we accordingly booked the property for three weeks in June this year. The gite was exactly how we remembered it – clean, tidy, roomy and well-appointed, with the crystal blue pool beckoning us for a dip before unpacking. The hospitality shown by the owner Mitch both upon arrival, and throughout our stay was much appreciated, as was the complimentary wine and fridge provisions left for our consumption. Mitch clearly strives to keep the grounds of the gite in a well-groomed state, and she is particularly diligent in the ensuring the impressive tiled pool is maintained in a perfect condition – servicing it each morning after a previous day’s hard swimming by both two- and four-legged guests! Mitch has two very friendly dogs of her own – Brandy (who is now getting on a little in years), and Charlie the pup. It was a pleasure to be greeted by these two each morning, and at different times throughout the day. Our own dog Max struck up quite a friendship with Brandy & Charlie and was quite happy to share his regular barbeque leftovers with them! The nearest boulangerie is about four miles away in Lauzun and is open six days per week. Lauzun also has a lovely little park with a lake in the middle – which we had a spin around each morning with Max before or after collecting our daily bread. We spent a couple of days sightseeing, but other than going out to buy provisions when required, we were just happy to chill out in this tremendous gite in the quiet French countryside – not least because the sun shone on twenty of the twenty-one days of our holiday! We would have no hesitation in recommending Loco’s Lodge to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday (with or without a pet) in a very well-equipped gite located in wonderful surroundings.

Two weeks aren't long enough!

The five of us, two adults, two children (12 and 8) and our dog, had the most relaxing two week summer holiday. Loco's Lodge is set on the edge of a very quiet hamlet not far from the village of Lauzun. The property is very private and has plenty of safe outdoor space for the kids and the dog to play. The pool, that we all spent hours in everyday, is cleaned every morning by the lovely owner, Mitch. The kitchen and indoor space is comfortable and well equipped; there's everything you'll need. The local roads are very quiet, safe for cycling and running. We had plans to visit some of the local sites but after a couple of days de-stressing we felt no urge to go anywhere so we just enjoyed the time together as a family and the tranquility. We only took the car out a handful of times to go to supermarket for supplies and to visit Eymet market on a couple of occasions. We'd highly recommend this place. The photo is of Charlie, my best pal, she is the boss! I bought the property in 1994
whilst living in Germany involved in the golf business. Moved down to France in 2001 and in 2003, I decided to go back to school - to study all about wine. 7 years of studies, and 18 years of running my wine shop in the buzzing village of Eymet, I am still working 7/7, aided and abetted by Charlie. My favourite time of the day is 'sundowner' time, watching the spectacular sunsets at Loco's Lodge.

Loco's Lodge is part of Le Tuquet, nearly 2 hectares. The Lodge has been totally rejuvenated this year with a South facing sun lounge with views of rolling countryside, trees and more trees, providing a home to the local deer, the red squirrels, the occasional pheasant and many rabbits.
This year, I also added a 'sundowner' terrace where you can sit and enjoy the evening sunsets, or watch our amazing night sky. There is also a covered terrace, should it rain.
A paradise for dogs, with plenty of quiet roads for walking.

The property is in the middle of an enormous field, with either sunflowers, winter rye or barley being grown. Neighbours are nowhere to be seen. It is an oasis of tranquillity, somewhere to relax and unwind, either in the hammocks, by the pool, in the sun lounge, or on the terraces. Books are also provided.
The décor inside is warm and cosy, with a lot of personal touches to make you feel truly at home. You will receive a generous welcome package on arrival, with all of the bare essentials - and more. And, needless to say, a couple of bottles of local wine!
