|Mindestaufenthalt||3 - 7 Nächte|
Wir, (Familie 51J., 39J., 14J., 9,J, 6J,) haben eine wunderschöne Zeit in der Villa Gelsomina verbracht; Schöne Wohnung, schönes Haus, toller Pool, fantastischer Panoramablick;
Aufmerksamer und stets hilfsbereiter Vermieter; Der Wettergott hat auch mitgespielt :-)
So muss ein Urlaub sein! Wir kommen gerne wieder....
A little bit of an exaggeration, but the views from the terrace of Villa Gelsomina are truly stunning.
We have now stayed in the Dolce Vita apartment, which is on the top floor of the villa, three times and are returning for a fourth time in the Spring of 2010. The apartment is lovely - clean, well maintained and equipped with everything you will need. William, the owner, is exceptionally friendly and helpful - the information pack that he provides is excellent.
Lake Orta is beautiful and the little town of Orta San Gulio is charming. There is plenty to do and see in the area and there is a wide choice of restaurants to suit every taste and pocket.
What more recommendation can we give than 4 visits in consecutive years - who knows, we might even go twice in 2010!
I booked Panorama and Paradiso apartments in Villa Gelsomina for one week for a family holiday and to attend a wedding.
From my first contact with William he responded very quickly and efficiently and the booking process was really easy. The information pack we received prior to arrival was excellent and when I got in touch with William to ask for advice he was most helpful each time.
We arrived on an evening just as the sun was setting and were really happy when we saw the well kept garden. We knew the view was going to be good but we were delighted when we walked around the villa to collect the keys and saw the view across the lake, it was absolutely beautiful! Our apartments were lovely, clean and stocked with everything we needed and more. They were next door to each other so we could share the whole balcony around the villa.
We enjoyed spending time in the pool and there was plenty of room for us and the other families staying there. We were really grateful to have all the information about the surrounding areas, restaurants, walks and local taxis (Rita was a very entertaining lady!) We visited Orta San Guilio for food several times and spent a couple of hours exploring the Island which was really interesting with some beautiful buildings and views. We drove up to Mount Mottarone and had great fun on the bobsled run down the mountain.
The wedding we attended was held in the town hall and after a boat ride around the lake the reception was in Palazzo Gemelli in the town. It was beautiful there and the food was amazing.
At Villa Gelsomina we particularly enjoyed sitting out on the balcony together having long leisurely meals and just enjoying the view which I don't think you would ever tire of!
I would definitely recommend this villa to friends and family.
We had a lovely stay at The Dolce Vita apartment at Villa Gelsomina. The apartment is well equipped for a comfortable stay but the real star of the show is the view over lovely Lake Orta. William was very helpful, providing lots of information ahead of the holiday so you can already start making plans! Unfortunately as the weather was somewhat cloudy for much of our stay, it was March after-all, we didn't do as many walks as we would have liked to. However the local walks we did were good and I would particularly recommend exploring around the the Orta San Giulio peninsular walking up the Sacro Monte, interesting with lots of lovely views, even in the cloud! The little cafe in Vacciago is lovely, run by a sweet lady. We enjoyed several carefully made brunches there. Also lunch at locanda del buon Riso was superb. All in all the whole experience was highly recommendable.
The third stay by ourselves but the fourth by members of our family. A modern Villa carefully designed and constructed with top quality materials and divided to provide generous sized apartments of different sizes depending upon the size of the group occupying. Each apartment (we have stayed in three different ones) are best described as similar to a generously large suite (but with a modern kitchen) in a modern 4 *or 5 * hotel although with rather greater attention to detail than one finds in most good hotels and of course with a very much greater sense of privacy and peace than in a hotel and with views that most hotels could only wish for. Apart from great design and construction the Villa has nice grounds and both grounds and apartments are constantly maintained (under the direct supervision of the English owner who appears to fly out for that purpose most week ends) as they would be if one was staying in a top quality hotel that was staffed and managed as one might hope.Gardeners were on duty even though it was late Autumn when we last visited and the Villa only partly occupied because of the season Its worth reading the description of this villa carefully to give you some preliminary idea of quite how good it will be but realise that your stay is likely to be very much better than you think from the description given.
This was our ninth stay in Apt Dolce Vita in Villa Gelsomina - doesn't that say it all? As usual, the apartment was as described and William, the owner, as helpful as ever. This is a superb apartment in a fantastic location - that's why we keep going back year after year.
