Edgewater Lodge: Riverfront Family Fun in Grayling

Relax and revel in nature with family and friends! Located right on the Manistee River (seriously, it almost feels like a houseboat!) this peaceful authentic log lodge has everything your group needs to chill on the river.

Enjoy two family suites with their own luxe bathrooms and one private king bedroom retreat with its own en-suite bathroom and soaker tub.

The Manistee River is famous for its fly fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and tubing. This is Michigan “Up North” at its finest! Surrounded by pine trees and abundant wildlife and only a few miles from Grayling’s vibrant downtown, the location has something for everyone.

Each bedroom and family suite has its own full bathroom.

You’ll get one family suite on the main level, with its own private entrance (ideal for night time dog potty trips). This suite offers a king-sized bed, twin bunks in a secluded nook, and a twin daybed and trundle bed. A bathroom with huge soaker tub and shower connects each sleeping area.

A separate bedroom on the main floor offers a king-sized bed, log cabin charm, and its own bathroom with its own soaker tub and shower.

Upstairs is an open loft that’s great for cozying up with a book on the twin-sized daybed lounge.

Beyond the loft is another full family suite, with a king-sized bed and another private cozy sleeping nook with two twin XL beds and a kid’s art and hangout space. This family suite has its own private full bathroom with a massive tiled shower. There’s also a walk-in closet to store gear.

Outside, you’ll have a serene firepit with seating for 13. Just off the main living space, you can access the huge deck overlooking the river. Picnic tables and a propane grill allow for outdoor meals while you wave at people paddling through.

There are also areas to relax on the deck with a seating area and hammock to grab a nap with the birds singing around you.

A side covered porch gives you a break from the sun and more seating and eating areas.

The dock gives you access to drop your boats into the river or fish right from it. Note: while we don’t provide kayaks, canoes, or tubes, Shel-Haven rentals are less than a mile away and they’re wonderful people.

Centrally-located, Edgewater Lodge is about an hour from Traverse City, Torch Lake, Petoskey, and Boyne Mountain so you can extend your vacation to explore beyond Grayling! All-Sports Lake Margrethe is only a few miles away, with a large public boat launch and recreation area and beach.

NOTE FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS:
Edgewater Lodge is located right on the Manistee River, but there's a steep dropoff down to the river. Safety fencing is not allowed, so you'll need to make sure kids are attended to and supervised outside at all times!

Other things to note
Note for parents/guardians: this riverfront property has a steep slope down to the river. You’ll need to supervise children at all times for their safety.

Additionally: The wood and propane stoves in the living room and family suite will not be operable during the summer months.

The second cabin on the property is locked and unoccupied and will be turned into a game room and bunk house for additional sleeping next season.
