DRIVE TO YOUR DOORSTEP
All our cabins are accessed via a well-signed, level, flat gravel laneway through our wooded 134 acre wilderness farm just outside Algonquin Park. Signs are reflective for day or night-time self check ins. Everything is signed very well so you don't have to worry, even at night. Our main sign says 'Highland Wilderness Tours' and is lit up with sparkly lights at night, as are the main gates.
There are some trees along the path but I drive my Chrysler Town and Country to every cabin without issue and it has a spoiler. You may want to leave the Maserati at home, although someone did bring one last year and had no issues.
OFF SEASON ACCESS
All cabins are fully accessible by vehicle from mid-May until late November. Meadowlark #5 has easy, year-round access.
Deer Meadow #1 and Cozy Cabin #2 are bookable in March, April and May, but between March and mid-May, the trails may not yet be open. In those cases, guests park at the barn (secure location) and walk nine minutes along a snowy trail to the cabin. For NO additional fee, we provide a sleigh, and/or a tracked vehicle to bring gear in and out if you have a lot.
Early season is actually one of the nicest times to visit, because the animals are waking up and you can see their tracks in the snow. Bring boots and take a nice walk along snowy trails with your morning coffee.
Please contact Penny for further details about off-season rentals.
