The entire back of the home features large open windows with uninterrupted lake views from the living room, dining area, and kitchen. Step outside onto the newly built oversized deck overlooking the water, where mornings begin with coffee and peaceful lake views and evenings end with golden sunsets reflecting across the lake. Stairs lead down to a lower viewing platform closer to lake level, offering another scenic place to relax and enjoy the water views. The rocky shoreline below remains accessible, and three cascading terraces create multiple outdoor spaces to relax, gather, and take in the scenery.

The main home offers approximately 1,450 square feet with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Additionally, there is a detached 150-square-foot bunkroom with two bunkbeds. There is sleeping space for up to eight guests with two additional guests allowed if utilizing the trundles under each bunkbed. Sleeping arrangements include one queen bed in the primary bedroom, two twin beds in the guest bedroom, and two bunk beds in the detached bunkroom for a total of four twin beds. The bunkroom creates a true family-friendly layout where adults can enjoy the main house while kids or teens have their own hangout space. The bunkroom also includes a Smart TV, making it perfect for movie nights or gaming after a day on the lake.

Inside the home, vaulted ceilings, paneled walls, and stone accent features highlight the property’s original 1970s architecture. The colorful vintage tile bathrooms and original oven remain as part of the home’s character, while new flooring, fresh bedroom carpeting, modern furnishings, a new refrigerator, and a new dishwasher provide comfort where it matters most. While there is a beautiful stone fireplace it is decorative only and not for guest use.

The kitchen and dining area are designed for easy gathering and entertaining. The dining table seats six guests, with two barstools at the kitchen counter, and a TV tray set provides additional flexible seating for casual meals or movie nights. The kitchen includes a Keurig coffee maker with a refillable K-cup, and we provide coffee, filters, creamer, and sweeteners so mornings start simple and stress-free. A spirits cabinet adds a fun entertaining element, while a telescope for lake watching and stargazing helps guests take in the natural beauty surrounding the home. The primary bedroom includes blackout curtains, and the guest bedroom features a dedicated desk workspace for those blending work with lake life.

Outdoors is where The Escape Hatch truly shines. The property features a large lakeview deck, multiple terraced seating areas, a propane firepit, propane grill, and several outdoor lounge spaces overlooking the water. Guests can also enjoy true lakefront recreation directly from the property with a stand-up paddleboard and a large floating water pad, perfect for relaxing or playing in the lake.

One of the most memorable elements of the home is its Star Wars theme woven throughout the space. Rather than a single themed room, the entire house features fun and subtle nods to the iconic universe, creating moments of discovery throughout your stay. Guests will find Star Wars artwork, posters, themed bedding, collectible décor, and playful design touches across the home. Unique items such as a Death Star air popper, Star Wars cookbook, R2-D2 French press for coffee, starfighter pillows, themed coasters, and framed character prints bring personality to the space. Original trilogy movie posters hang in the primary bedroom, while additional themed accents appear throughout the home. Dogs under 50 pounds are welcome, with a maximum of two dogs unless otherwise approved, so your four-legged companions can join the adventure.

The Escape Hatch is conveniently located near Canyon Lake Gorge, Overlook Park, Canyon Park, and several access points for kayaking, paddle boarding, and floating the Horseshoe on the Guadalupe River. Day trips to Wimberley, New Braunfels, Gruene, and Fredericksburg offer wineries, shopping, dining, and live music throughout the Texas Hill Country. After booking, guests receive access to a curated local guide with QR code access, making it easy to explore like a local.
