The Space:
Welcome to Adama House – an idyllic, family-friendly cottage that you’ll use as a homebase for year-round Poconos adventures! A newly-reimagined house that guests have described as 'much more than a vacation home, it feels like a true resort.' Uniquely featuring a fantasy playhouse for kids and a wooded path to our private stream! This perfect mountain escape is located in Locust Lake Village and has access to three swimmable lakes, sandy beaches, great fishing, tennis courts, playgrounds, plus an ice-skating pond & sledding hill… there’s something for everyone to enjoy, no matter the season. Come for the scenery, stay for the stories you’ll create!

A note from Adama House owners, Rachel & Michael:
🌿 When we bought this house, our vision was to create a family getaway rooted in nature and togetherness. Adama House holds deep meaning for our family, and the name comes from two places close to our hearts: Adama is inspired by our son, Adam, and in Hebrew, ”Adama” (אדמה) means earth or ground. Coming from Israel and having lived in cities our entire lives (Tel Aviv, San Francisco and New York), this home represents something we deeply craved, a place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and feel truly grounded.
We designed Adama House with our children, Adam and Lia, in mind, turning the outdoors into a place of imagination and joy! Our favorite project was transforming the old shed into a magical playhouse, a special space for creativity, adventure, and childhood memories.
We love to share Adama House with guests with the hope that others will feel the same sense of calm, connection, and grounding that this place gives our family. More than a vacation home, Adama House is a space to unplug, connect with nature, and create meaningful memories that are playful and full of heart. ♥️

Guest Access:
You'll have access to the entire home and secluded wooded yard, plus Locust Lake Village's three lakes (Pines, Locust & East), beaches, playgrounds, tennis courts, fishing areas, sledding hill, archery range, bird-watching blind... there's a lot to explore right outside your front door!
Getting Around:
We recommend exploring Locust Lake Village and the Poconos by car so you can really take advantage of everything the area has to offer! Pines Lake is within walking distance, and it's easiest to drive 2 mins to one of the 3 community lakes so you don't have to carry all your gear, and there are parking spots at all of our beaches.
It is possible to reach Adama House by Greyhound bus to nearby Mount Pocono or Blakeslee then taxi/Uber to the house, if you plan on having a quiet reclusive weekend.
Other Things to Note:
The primary renter on all reservations must be 25 years of age or older, in accordance with local short term rental laws. Please respect the neighborhood and keep outside noise to a minimum after 11pm. No more than 8 guests are permitted to stay overnight. Additional overnight guests will be charged a penalty of $100 per person.
PETS: No pets are allowed at Adama House, sorry. We have allergies!
SMOKING: Please no smoking in the house at any time, thanks!
PARTIES: UNFORTUNATELY, THIS IS NOT A PARTY HOUSE. Low-key getaways, birthday gatherings and family reunion type-things are totally okay and encouraged! Please do not use confetti or glitter at the house. Any confetti or glitter found will result in an additional cleaning charge of $100/hr as needed.
Please note: Host will send a hold harmless waiver for the primary renter to sign, per insurance requirements.
DISCLAIMER: The owner is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illnesses that occur while on the premises or its facilities, including use of the hot tub and fire pit. The homeowner is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premises.
PRE-REGISTRATION: Our community requires all guests to pre-register online prior to their arrival at Adama House and display a parking pass during their stay. Community wristbands will be provided to guests during your stay. Any lost or missing wristbands will incur a $50 fee per wristband.
You are not permitted to bring any of your own boats, kayaks, paddleboards, or canoes to launch in the Locust Lake Village lakes because of risk of contamination. This measure has been implemented to protect our waters and prevent the introduction of harmful contaminants that could negatively impact the ecosystem.

Interaction with Guests:
Guests have the house all to themselves. However, I am available by phone or text anytime to answer questions or provide information. There is a coded door lock (plus a back up lock box) for 24-hour access.
