Terrible management company experience

Almost every interaction with management company was terrible Completely unresponsive … pool wasn’t turned on for 2 nights and we were charged. Nice enough place … no guide book at place. We were lost half of the time on how to use stuff. Heater was programmed… woke up again in the middle of the night with heating blaring… couldn’t change it without code that owner withheld. Would never rent again here. Vacasa are really bad

Nice house

Nicely furnished, modern house which matches the pictures. Minor area of improvement could be the living room TV is significantly too small for the intended viewing distance and has bad speakers. Generally quiet neighbourhood. Limited privacy in the yard/pool area due to some gaps in the fence. While the house itself was great, everything around rental management wasn't - the maintenance staff was entering the property unannounced, which was quite surprising to suddenly have some stranger walking around the property, which is unacceptable. The house was also not ready to enter when we arrived as the cleaning from the previous renters was still ongoing, we then had to kill another two hours until they were actually finished. When pointing out these issues, I did not get any response from Vacasa which just ignored my emails.

A few tweaks would make all the difference !

The property in and of itself was excellent. We are however a discerning couple who select a property with select criteria. This one fell short in a few areas that we had higher expectations for. If the owner made a few minor improvements, our stay would have been more enjoyable. Those would include:- the BBQ / Grill is a safety hazard and needs to be changed out- the over / range is a safety hazard and needs to be changed out as the control panel is broken and can burn someone- both flame starters were dry so I replaced them with a working starter- the linens were fine although the face and hand towels need replacing- 3 of the 8 pool towels have holes in them- 2 of the 6 votive lights do not work- Only 1 bath robe albeit a cozy one, you should have none or two- the martini shaker is missing its top for measuring and the lid is stuck on so could not be used- the check in process was confusing with mixed messages of needing to visit VACASA's office then a last minute change to being able to remotely check in.

The barbecue igniter was out and is being repaired and a new martini shaker was added to the home. Great house, great location

Overall, we had a great time at Vista Norte. Well-kept, clean home and property, very well suited for our group of 4 (would have very comfortably slept another 2). The renovations were done very tastefully to allow for modern conveniences, while keeping the mid-century modern charm that people come to expect in Palm Springs. The stay would have been a 5 star, however, the management company failed to communicate before our arrival that the pool pump/filter system was broken by previous tenants, which was discovered upon my arrival when said pool equipment was sitting in the garage (not allowing me to fit my vehicle in). The presence of a pool was a large determining factor in choosing the home, as is the case for many traveling to the desert oasis, and to not communicate that it was out of order, maybe provide alternative solution, was not received well by myself and the rest of my party. The burden was put on us to reach out to the management company, and it took multiple phone calls to get an individual with knowledge of the situation. It is only fair to note that the pool was fixed about halfway through our 5-night stay.

Amazing Home

We had the opportunity to do stay at Freestone Modern and the home exceeded all our expectations. The home was extremely clean and well taken care of! The only feedback we have is the outside property lights never did come on and would have been nice to have the backyard lit for dinner. The book stated they would come on automatically, but never did... Overall, we will be back and look forward to staying in this home again!
