We had an amazing time at The Cottage! The hosts, Michelle and Bob, made sure we had everything we needed for our stay and provided a lovely welcome snack basket for our arrival. The house was well appointed with comfortable beds and a well stocked kitchen. The view of the water was peaceful and relaxing as we enjoyed our wine and cheese while the sun set. The nearby bike path was another wonderful amenity which we took advantage of for morning walks and bike rides. We can’t wait to return.

The property and the setting were pristine. We loved the views of the bay from inside and out. It's rare to find a coastal area still with a 'local feel' which is exactly what this proved to be.Bristol is charming and the people were wonderful. It's the perfect location for exploring Rhode Island in every direction. Newport, Providence, Westerly, Narragansett, Watch Hill and more were great day trips for us,Our hosts could not have made us feel more welcome and 'at home'. Spectacular!! Michelle & Bob were wonderful hosts - both accessible and accommodating. The view was stunning, I could have lived on the deck :) It was so comfortable with a well-stocked kitchen and the house was immaculate when we arrived. There are so many fantastic restaurants in the area and a picturesque state park right up the road. I look forward to our next visit.

If only all vacation rentals were like this one ! The cottage is beautiful, clean and well appointed without being cluttered. The location is fantastic, of course, as it’s on the water. But the proximity to lovely Bristol, Colt Park, and so many other locations makes it even better. We used the bike and walking path almost daily. Michelle and Bob are lovely and conscientious, they truly want their guests to enjoy the cottage. We can’t wait to return.

What a piece of paradise! The Cottage was remarkably clean and had everything we wanted including beach towels, bikes, a well stocked kitchen, and a basket of welcome snacks! You won’t be disappointed sitting on the deck with your morning coffee or sitting by the water for a gorgeous sunset. The host was very responsive with a minor issue and easy to contact. The bike path is so close and a path into Colt State Park is even closer. We definitely would return to this gorgeous cottage on the water! Thank you!!

This VRBO was the best listing I have ever stayed in. The waterfront views were breathtaking and the design of the entire cottage was perfect. It was spotlessly clean. From the luxury bath robes to the abundance of kitchen tools and gadgets, no detail was missed. The home is right next to a bike trail which leads to a local park. I hope to stay here again soon-definitely worth every penny!

Our stay was fabulous! The location right on the water was magnificent. We enjoyed every minute on the deck looking out to the water. The cottage was immaculate and well appointed with everything you could possibly need. The host even asked what type of coffee creamer we would like. The host was above and beyond providing coffee, seltzer, bottled water and snacks! The host also had lovely suggestions for local activities and restaurants. The attention to detail was much appreciated and made for an amazing stay! The beds were 100% comfortable and the linens and towels provided were top notch! I will definitely be returning to this property.

Outstanding! There were no reviews and this place turned out to be an absolute gem. The bay views are stunning, and the spacious back deck is just perfect. We had a wonderful stay at the “Waterfront Cottage on the Bay.” The cottage was exactly as described: clean, well-lit, spacious and beautifully decorated. The beds were comfortable, and the towels, sheets and robes were a very nice quality. Hosts Michelle and Bob created a warm and welcoming environment in the home from thoughtful amenities, to helpful information about the local history and recommendations for dining and activities in the extended area. There is an amazing view from the deck, and it is only a short stroll down to the water’s edge. The neighborhood is quiet and easily walkable, with scenic biking/walking trails nearby. This was a 5-Star experience for us!

Our stay at The Cottage was nothing short of amazing. It was our first time in Rhode Island and we couldn’t have picked a better place. We were hesitant at first having not seen prior reviews but Michelle is prompt, detailed and kind in her responses. The neighborhood is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The view of the water behind the house is stunning! The home itself is just as nice as the photos, well maintained, and clean. We really appreciated the little touches around the house that provided convenience and made our stay easy and even the suggestions about places to visit in town. My visit to The Cottage was exceptional. The waterfront views were stunning, capped off by unforgettable sunsets from the spacious deck while enjoying a glass of wine. I was impressed from the moment I arrived, before I had even unpacked. The house is welcoming, the location is ideal — between Providence and Newport — and the salt air brings a great sense of calm. I traveled to Bristol to visit Blithewold Gardens, where I was married many years ago, and The Cottage proved to be the perfect place to reconnect with those memories. It’s a true 10 out of 10! I will return again!

From the moment we arrived at The Cottage, it exceeded every expectation. We got a surreal view of the sunset on the water as soon as we checked in! The space itself was stunning — tastefully designed, spotlessly clean, and stocked with every amenity we could have asked for. Plenty of high-quality linens (even some cozy spa robes!), a fully equipped kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, and comfortable furniture. Waking up each morning to the soothing and relaxing view felt like a genuine treat.The location was perfect, Bristol was a quick and scenic drive to Newport where we spent some time checking out historic attractions. Everything we needed was within easy reach — great dining and local coffee shops. What truly set this experience apart, though, was the hosts. Michelle was incredibly responsive — answering every question promptly and going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Before we even arrived, she shared a curated list of local restaurant recommendations, which we ended up checking out and really enjoying! (We had brunch at The Beehive, which was lovely.) The thought Michelle and Bob put into setting up The Cottage made it clear they genuinely care about their guests' experience. Every detail was taken care of. Check-in was seamless, the property was exactly as described (if not better!), and we left feeling completely refreshed and well taken care of. We will absolutely be returning the next time we are in the area. If you're considering this rental, don't hesitate.

WOW-what a great experience. You never know what you are going to get when you book online.... but this place was above and beyond our expectations! The owners Michelle & Bob are the nicest people! So warm and friendly and welcoming upon walking in we felt like we walked into a magazine. The attention to detail far exceeded our expectations. There is nothing you need to bring with you other than your clothes. The kitchen had everything you could think of needing or wanting. They had the most luxurious towels, body lotions and soaps, and wait until to you see the upstairs shower...gorgeous!! Our stay at The Cottage was incredible. When we arrived we were greeted by a thoughtful note and gift basket from our hosts. We loved sitting on the deck and Adirondack chairs admiring the water. The house was so clean and nicely decorated and every detail was thought of. We highly recommend this property and we definitely plan to come back!

This cottage is easily one of the best rental experiences we've ever had. From the communication with the owner, to the top notch amenities, to the thoughtful little touches - it felt like a stay at a 5-star hotel.It was a pleasure to stay here and looking forward to it again next year!

The photos don’t do this cottage justice! Everything in every room is perfect. The view from the house and deck is everything one wants for a peaceful, beautiful get away!The kitchen is very well appointed making cooking meals with a sunset view spectacular. The owners are great! Beds are really comfortable too. Best house we’ve rented in VRBO!

The Cottage has been in our family for nearly 60 years. Three generations have grown within its warm embrace, learning life’s lessons along the shoreline. Over the decades, we’ve shared milestone celebrations, quiet awakenings, breathtaking encounters with nature, historic storms, new loves, heartfelt losses and countless moments in between.

Life on the bay offers gifts and “ah-ha” moments that seem to shift with every tide. What never changes is the draw of being here. It is restorative, grounding, and truly special.

Many years ago, we purchased the property next door to The Cottage so we could remain close to the home that means so much to us. Today, we live in one house and share the other.

With the third generation of our family now living far from Rhode Island, it brings us joy to open The Cottage to VRBO guests. We hope you’ll experience your own moments of discovery, the beauty of the bay, and the quiet comfort that comes from being close to the sea.

Beyond The Cottage’s seaside tranquility, the town of Bristol offers history, charm, and a community of warm, welcoming locals. We invite you to come, relax, and create memories that will stay with you long after your visit.
