Retreat on the Haw includes both the main Cabin on the Haw and a nearby bright, modern Luna Studio on the same property, offering a peaceful stay with plenty of room to relax. Surrounded by nature and filled with natural light, the spaces feel comfortable, open, and easy to settle into. Just 10 minutes from Elon University, this secluded retreat invites slow mornings by the river, cozy evenings by the fire, and a stay where calm comes naturally and time gently slows down.

Fire up Kamado Joe charcoal grill—or head just a few hundred feet to the private river access, where you’ll find four kayaks, a picnic table, and a fire pit for memorable days and starry evenings by the water.

Luna Studio:

The open living space is bright and welcoming with large windows that bring in plenty of natural light. A smart TV is available for cozy evenings in, and the comfortable layout makes it easy to enjoy a slow morning indoors or to unwind after a day of exploring.

➤ Kitchen Area 2

The kitchen is set up to make your stay easy and convenient, featuring birch cabinetry, soft-close drawers, quartz countertops, open shelving with soft LED lighting, and a Keurig/drip combo coffee machine to start your mornings off right. It’s perfect for preparing breakfast, light meals, or a relaxed dinner during your stay. Everything you need for cooking on the induction stove top is provided, along with a microwave and a small multi-function oven.

NOTE: There is no dishwasher.

The dining area for two is ideal for enjoying meals, sipping morning coffee, or planning the day ahead. It can also double as a comfortable workspace if you need to check emails or get a bit of work done.

Step outside and enjoy direct access to the Haw River (about 150 steps from the unit), along with peaceful river views with a Solo Stove, Gas BBQ Grill, nearby trails, a cozy outdoor fire pit, a hammock for ultimate relaxation, and a disc golf basket for some fun outdoor activity. Whether you’re unwinding by the river, lounging in the hammock, relaxing by the fire, playing a round of disc golf, or taking in the scenery from the comfortable outdoor furniture, the space adds a calm and refreshing touch to your stay.

Guests have full access to the entire cabin and the nearby studio, along with exclusive access to the open field with the fire pit and private river access just steps away. Kayaks are provided, so you can head straight from your door to the water whenever the mood strikes.

Most cars can easily access the home and nearby areas. There is no public transportation, so bringing your own vehicle or renting one is preferred. While Uber and Lyft are available, getting a ride may not always be easy.

➤The 2 units are approximately 350 feet apart. During winter, when the leaves are down, there is limited visibility between them; once the foliage returns, they will not be visible from each other.
➤ Please only flush the provided septic-safe toilet paper (no sanitary products, wipes, etc.) as other products will clog and ruin the septic system.
➤ There are no dishwasher and laundry units in the studio.
➤ Exceeding maximum occupancy is not permitted.
➤ No third-party bookings (must book under your own account).
➤ No parties, events, smoking, vaping, marijuana use, or open flames (candles, incense, sage).
➤ Quiet hours begin at 10:00 pm. Please keep noise to a minimum.
➤ONLY the Cabin on the Haw is a pet-friendly property! We’re glad if you were able to bring your pet along, but please note we have a few additional rules:

• No pets allowed in The Luna Studio.
• Please note that a $100 Pet fee will be applied per pet.
• We are unable to host cats and breeds of dogs deemed aggressive, per our insurance policy.
