Welcome to Backgammon, a beautifully designed five-bedroom, five-bathroom home in the heart of Bermuda’s peaceful Paget parish. Surrounded by an expansive lush tropical gardens and towering palm trees, this private retreat is ideal for families, friend groups, or anyone looking to unwind in style. The stylish house blends modern comfort with artistic charm, creating an inspiring and tranquil setting for your island stay.

Layout & Living Spaces

As you enter the home, you’re welcomed by a warm and elegant foyer that opens into the main living area. This inviting space features a baby grand piano—yes, it plays itself!—a perfect spot to enjoy background music while relaxing, reading a book from the built-in shelves, or entertaining guests. The living room flows out to a spacious balcony overlooking the pool, with steps leading down to the main garden level. The layout is designed to encourage both relaxation and family connections!

Chef’s Kitchen & Dining

The heart of the home is the newly remodeled designer kitchen, completed in 2025 by a top local architect. It’s a dream for those who love to cook or gather around food. Outfitted with top-of-the-line appliances, ample counter space, and a central island, this space opens into a cozy lounge with a fireplace and large-screen TV. French doors lead from here to the outdoor covered patio with cozy dining area perfect for cocktails, casual meals, or simply soaking in the island breeze. You’ll find everything you need here to enjoy long dinners with friends or family. (If a chef is needed we can help you source for a small fee).

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

Backgammon comfortably sleeps up to 9 adults across five thoughtfully laid-out bedrooms:
• The primary suite features a king bed, ensuite bathroom, and direct access to the garden and pool—perfect for a late-night dip.
• A second garden-level bedroom also has a king bed, ensuite bathroom, and French doors leading to the tropical garden.
• A third king bedroom is on the main floor with its own ensuite bath.
• The final two bedrooms each have queen beds and share a spacious Jack and Jill bathroom, ideal for siblings or friends.

In addition, there’s a full bathroom near the kitchen and patio—convenient for showering off after the pool or beach. Each bathroom is stocked with plush towels, hotel-style soaps, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion.

Outdoor Areas

Step outside and you’ll find yourself in your own private paradise. The large pool is surrounded by comfortable loungers and swaying palm trees, offering shade and serenity. A lower-level garden area adds to the sense of space and peace. This area can also be reserved for small events or special gatherings for an additional fee (just let us know and we can help).

For the curious explorers in your group, there’s even a “secret garden” tucked away on the property. It’s perfect for reading, meditating, or just escaping for a quiet moment.

Amenities & Practical Details

Guests have full, private use of the home during their stay. Liz, the owner and host, lives in a separate apartment on the side of the property with her small dog, but she values guest privacy and will only interact when needed or requested.

Location

Backgammon is in a prime central location with easy access to transportation and amenities. You’re just a short walk from Lindo’s grocery store, Darrell’s Wharf ferry stop (only 4 minutes on foot), and bus routes that make exploring the island easy and convenient.

The Four Ways Inn and restaurant—a local favorite for fine dining is a five minute walk at the end of the road. Whether you’re heading into Hamilton for shopping and nightlife or exploring Bermuda’s stunning beaches and walking trails, you’ll find Backgammon to be the perfect launch point.

Guest Experience

Whether you’re planning a laid-back vacation or an active island adventure, Backgammon makes it easy to tailor your trip. The home’s open-plan design, luxurious finishes, and natural beauty create a comfortable and stylish backdrop for everything from family dinners to sunset cocktails by the pool. We are here and willing to help you with any vacation needs.

Liz, the host, is a talented artist. Her unique touch is found throughout the home, with curated artwork and accents that reflect the vibrancy and charm of island life. Her co-host, Susan, is also available to provide local tips, help with bookings, or arrange extra services, including pre-stocking groceries, in-home chefs, or private boat tours. I live in a separate unit on the property with my small dog, but you will have full privacy.

A detailed digital and printed guidebook is provided, featuring information on the home, local dining options, ferry schedules, shops, beaches, and recommendations from your host.

Guest access
Guests have exclusive access to the entire main house, including all 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, the fully equipped kitchen, dining and living areas, pool, and patio deck with a fire pit. The garden is also available and can be reserved for small events upon request (additional fee applies). There’s a separate guest bathroom by the pool for convenience. I live in a private unit on the property, but you’ll have full privacy throughout your stay.

Other things to note
Please note that the home is situated in a quiet residential area, ideal for relaxation. However, parties are not permitted, and there is no loud noise after midnight. The garden may be used for small events with prior approval and a fee. A guidebook is provided, detailing the property and offering local recommendations. Some bedrooms are accessed via stairs. I live in a separate unit with my tiny dog. The baby grand piano plays itself, enjoy the music, no lessons required!
