La Casa Manzanita— A Sequoia National Forest Escape

Flat paved driveway, near stores/restaurants. Deer visit frequently. You can hike to the Tule River directly from the backyard (at your own risk). Your host, Andrew, hiked down to the river in the summer. It's definitely a challenge and jeans and bear spray are recommended just in case a mountain lion or bear are present on the hike down.
Family: Kid-friendly—baby gate and pack-n-play available upon request. Children's plates, cups, bowls, and utensils are available in the kitchen.

Location, Safety, and Family-Friendly
Access: Flat, paved driveway provides significantly easier access than typical mountain properties. General stores and restaurants are within a couple of miles.
Adventure: Hike down to the river directly from the backyard (at your own risk) or enjoy local nature walks.
Family: Kid-friendly amenities are available upon request (pack-n-play, highchair, gate).
Safety: Two fire extinguishers and an upstairs emergency rope escape ladder (under the bed) are provided.

GUEST ACCESS
Starting in October or November, be sure to check the forecast and if necessary, have snow chains in your vehicle just in case, though the road is plowed all the way up to the cabin.
The entire cabin, with the exception of 2 locked supply closets, is available for your use.
The wood burning stove in the sunroom is temporarily unavailable.
To use the outdoor propane fire pits, turn on the propane tank valves under the fire pits. Please remember to tighten the propane valve when done.
