Comfortable and relaxing cottage vacation

We enjoyed staying here. All the comforts of home in a beautifully appointed vacation property located at the new Minas basin where we could watch the tides come and go. Lots of space inside with a beautiful outside patio and lawn as well.

Location, location, location

The house and view spectacular, location was the perfect area to be local for touring as no farther than an hour drive and or a bit to south shore, Halifax and areas along the Bay of Fundy. Linda was always a message away and would answer any questions we had. Thank you Linda!

Nice home in a really great location to discover the Annapolis Valley. Linda was very helpful in keeping us updated when a power outage occurred, even offering that we spend time at her place if the power didn’t resume at the expected time. The view of the water was lovely from the yard but it should be noted that it’s not a beach combing type beach if that’s what you are looking for. The deck wasn’t functional but you could still make your way to the beach during low tide if you really wanted to. The place was clean and the beds were comfortable. All in all, we had a very nice stay.

Relaxing stay at Lake House

We stayed here with our three kids, 18, 14 and 11. There was plenty of space for everyone to have their privacy plus lots of family space too. Very quiet road but still close to all the amenities that Wolfville and Port Williams have to offer, not to mention wineries, cideries, antique stores and fun adventures to be had. Will definitely be looking to stay here again when we are next in the area.

Tranquility on the Bay of Fundy

Tide House was perfect for our friends gathering with four bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an open style main space. Comfy beds, oodles of privacy, and access to amazing landscapes/food/wine in Annapolis Valley. Short trips to restaurants and markets in the area, and easy day trips to Lunenburg, Mahone Bay or Halifax (1 hr away). Highly recommend this for 4-8 adults or 2 families with littles. Tide House is a great place to relax

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tide House. The cottage was comfortable, clean and the kitchen well equipped. The property was equally inviting. We enjoyed morning coffees on the spacious deck and the gorgeous view of the Bay. Our children enjoyed beachcombing at low tide and the bonfire at night. We loved the view, the kitchen was excellent

The only complaint would be we came when it was hot and the air conditioner couldn’t keep up. A second couch or chairs in the tv room would be nice. That being said it was very nice.

Thanks Glenn! It's been a hot, dry summer for sure! The air conditioner does a great job of cooling down the main floor, you can adjust the fan speed and temperature to suit. There are also ceiling fans in the bedrooms and living room. The TV room is naturally cooler as it is on the lower level. Great suggestion for a few more chairs in the TV room! We do have a number of comfy chairs that can be moved around depending on number of guests and where you want to spend your time. We welcome you back in the future!

Well equipped and beautiful!

Lovely location and house was very clean and as advertised. Access to the water front was via a ladder so those with mobility issues may not be able to handle. The garden was lovely and the bird song a delight! The house was well stocked with all the basics, much more so than many other places! Highly recommend!

It was great!

We spent a week here in July. The house was extremely clean and it was very quiet. The kitchen was well equipped with quality cookware and utensils. We enjoyed seeing eagles fly over the backyard as well as a hummingbird that showed up most evenings. Watching the tide in the Bay of Fundy was most interesting. After a brief, but heavy, shower one afternoon we were happy to see one of the most beautiful rainbows ever! I have a photo of it stretching all the way across the backyard over the Bay. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely location, some things not as described though

This house was in a lovely secluded location, with great access to Wolfville and the Valley. There were some things missing from the listing - the hot tub, toys for the younger kids and a pack and play. Linda arranged for a pack and play to be dropped off along with some toys suitable for our 2 yr old. Some bedding and towels were torn, the dock was no longer accessible; the house is obviously well loved but starting to show its age in places. We notice some areas had not been cleaned when we arrived.

Nova Scotia vacation

The property was ideal for our stay. Away from touristy areas but close enough for day trips there. The property is very clean, comfortable and well decorated. Beautiful views. There are several wineries, breweries an good restaurants in the area without having a lineup to get in. To clear up one of the reviews about the waterfront and if one could fish or swim at the property, the high tides increase or decrease as days go by. For the first few days we got to the property, the high tide had the water edge about 30' from the dock and swimming or fishing would not be suitable although at the end of the road local residents fish every day at high tide for striped bass. Latter in the week I was surprised that high tide brought the water right to the dock and 2 properties away kids were swimming and the father was fishing. There are beaches within 10 minutes which is where we decided to swim. Thanks Anne and Rachel for the nice stay on our vacation.

fabulous location but too close to neighbours

The house is well appointed with amazing views. It wasn't very clean but passable. Four of us stayed in the house and we were visiting relatives who live nearby. We had a bbq in the garden with the family and apparently this upset the neighbours. The host told us she left a note telling us no fires but we didn't find it. We had a fire I the firepit the first night as this was within local regulations - our family know the regs. The neighbours complained about this. On the last day we left very early but my son and stepson stayed on to clean the house and leave everything in good order. The host turned all the power off a little before the check out time which wasn't helpful at all. Overall a good place to stay if you are not planning a get together!

Sorry the house was very clean. When I arrived to clean on the Saturday the water was running in the sink full of dirty dishes and the house smelled like dope despite no smoking rules. The sink was full of dirty dishes, chips all over the floor. Garbage left on floor of downstairs bathroom. The recycling and compost rules were not followed. The neighbours were woken at 3 two mornings. The doors were left open and many flies got in. There were also two dogs not allowed. I did NOT turn off the power but there was an outage late morning. The fine for an open fire when not permitted is $25,000. I had written this in both the house book and the note I had left with their welcome package.

We had a great time at the Tide House!

We loved our stay at the Tide House. We arrived at the house very late on our arrival day, so waking up in the morning was such a surprise to see right out the windows such a remarkable view of water. The house was great, everything we could have asked for and more. The kitchen was well stocked with all the pots, pans, dishes, etc that we needed. The beds and pillows were very comfortable (we had the best sleep at this house due to those beds/pillows), and the rooms were decorated so well. We didn’t use the TV, but I’m sure younger kids would have liked it. My older kids would have loved having internet. We were greeted by Anne (not the owner) who gave us a great history lesson of the area, as well as wonderful suggestions of what to do and see. She truly made herself available to us for anything we needed. Unfortunately, we were only at the house for 3 full days. I’d love to stay here a full week and see more of the area. We were able to see Hall’s Harbor, where we took pictures at 3 different times during the day as the tide was completely out to the last picture of the boats (who were on dry land in the first picture) were floating even with the docks. What an amazing experience to see such movement and power from the sea. The "Look Off" on Scotts Bay Road in Canning gives you a wonderful view of the Annapolis Valley, very beautiful. Right across the street from the Look Off is a little hole in the wall ice cream shop, a must! They don’t skimp on the ice cream that’s for sure! The Chowder at the Port restaurant, was very yummy as were the scallops! We had a fun time wine tasting at Planters Ridge, very friendly people and the deck there gave a very nice view. We brought home a couple of bottles of wine from there. Fun times playing cards at night around the kitchen table with the family, making lot of memories together! Gut: Sauberkeit, Check-in, Kommunikation, Lage und Genauigkeit des Onlineauftritts

Schön gelegenes Ferienhaus mit Tidenhub

Wir haben eine Woche in diesem gemütlichen und sehr gut ausgestatteten Ferienhaus verbracht und uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Bei über 30 Grad haben wir auch die Klimaanlage und den großen Kühlschrank mit Gefrierschrank sehr geschätzt. Es war alles da, was man braucht: Duschbad, Haarwäsche, viele kuschelige Handtücher, Toilettenpapier und Küchenrolle, Kaffee, Gewürze und vieles mehr! Das Wasser kann man aus dem Hahn trinken und mit den großen Karaffen im Kühlschrank gut kühlen. Auch die Betten waren sehr bequem und dank Moskitonetzen an den Fenstern haben wir gut geschlafen. Für ein Lagerfeuer auf dem Grundstück stand Holz zur Verfügung. Wir haben Ebbe und Flut erlebt, Weißkopfseeadler gesehen und die leckeren einheimischen Biere und Weine bei einem grandiosen Sternenhimmel am eigenen Strand genossen! Wir können dieses schöne Haus sehr empfehlen und kommen bestimmt nochmal wieder! Vielen Dank an Anne für die super Ausstattung in ihrem schönen Sommerhaus! Annett und Familie

Bitte Annette! Here is the English translation: Beautifully situated holiday home with tidal view. We spent a week in this cozy and very well equipped holiday home and felt very comfortable. With over 30 degrees, we also really appreciated the air conditioning and the large fridge freezer. Everything was there that you need: shower wash, shampoo, lots of fluffy towels, toilet paper and kitchen roll, coffee, spices and much more! You can drink the water from the tap and cool it well with the large Brita in the fridge. The beds were also very comfortable and we slept well thanks to the screens on the windows. Wood was available for a campfire on the property. We experienced high and low tide, saw bald eagles and enjoyed the delicious local beers and wines under a magnificent starry sky on our own beach! We highly recommend this beautiful house and will definitely be back again! Many thanks to Anne for the great facilities in her beautiful summer house! Annett and family
