Today, remnants of the original fort—earthworks, ramparts, and magazines—can still be seen in Fort Totten Park, which sits atop a hill and offers green space and walking paths.
Fort Totten is known for its excellent transit access:
Fort Totten Metro Station serves the Red, Green, and Yellow Lines. Fort Totten also has numerous Metrobus routes. Excellent public transit options and decent walkability make it easy to explore without a car.
Easy access to the Washington Metropolitan Branch Trail, an 8-mile bike path connecting Silver Spring to Union Station.
Fort Totten is close to Catholic University of America, providing access to cultural and athletic events
One parking spot is available in the driveway of the property. There is also additional free street parking in front of the property for which you need no permit for.
We are a quick 20 minute (1 mile) walk to the Fort Totten Metro or a 2-minute walk to numerous MetroBus stops. Fort Totten Metro has a parking lot where you can pay using a SmarTrip card or credit card. No special permit is needed.
Fort Totten is a major transfer station for the Red, Green, and Yellow lines—making it easy to reach downtown DC, Capitol Hill, or Columbia Heights.
Trains run frequently, and travel times to central DC are typically under 20 minutes.

inside or around the property will result in an immediate cancellation with no refund.
🔹 Respect the Community – This neighborhood values peace and quiet. Please be
mindful of noise, especially in the early mornings and late nights.
🔹 Maximum Occupancy & Age Requirement – Renters must be 25+ years old unless
pre-approved. Families with children under 25 are welcome. The maximum occupancy
must be respected, and any additional guests require prior approval.
🔹 Security Cameras – Exterior cameras may be in use for security. There are no indoor
cameras.
🔹 Property Inspection – The home is inspected before your arrival. If anything is not
working upon check-in, please notify us immediately.
🔹 Security Deposit – For larger groups or extended stays, an additional security
deposit may be required.
🔹 Late Check-Out Fees – Due to our cleaning schedule, unannounced late check-outs
will incur charges.
🔹 Large Items Prohibited – Without prior approval, large items like bicycles and gym
equipment cannot be brought inside.
🔹 Long-Term Stays – For bookings of 2 weeks or more, we may require a deep
cleaning after check-out.
🔹 HVAC Use – Please keep all doors and windows closed when the heating or AC is
running.
🔹 Toilets – Only flush toilet paper—no other materials, please.
🔹 Identity Verification – We may request proof of identity (passport, driver’s license)
