The unsanitary condition of this property was unacceptable. While we understand that this is a pet-friendly home, that should not come at the expense of basic cleanliness. We did not travel with any pets ourselves.When we arrived, the couch was heavily soiled with urine stains (1 was still damp), an old rug was found in a closet with pet urine all over it, and the carpets in 2 of the bedrooms had lots of urine stains. Because we were traveling with small children who spend time playing on the floor and sitting on furniture, we had to request extra sheets and blankets simply to cover these areas.We were willing to overlook cosmetic and maintenance issues, such as broken lamps, a hole in the wall, and 3 TVs that were not functioning. We also found the beds to be extremely firm and uncomfortable for our preferences. However, the cleanliness concerns were much more significant and could not be ignored.The host did offer an additional cleaning, which we appreciated. However, the issues went beyond what a standard cleaning could reasonably address. In our opinion, the condition of the furniture and carpets required professional deep cleaning or replacement to adequately resolve the issue. Considering how much we paid for the property, we felt that a partial refund should have been offered, but it was not. Unfortunately, due to all of this, we would not recommend this house unless these changes have been made.
