We are pleased that you enjoyed the spectacular ocean views, found the resort staff to be nice, and appreciated the partial refund provided when you chose to leave early. We do want to clarify several points for future guests. Our condo is professionally cleaned and prepared before every arrival, and we take cleanliness concerns very seriously. Had we been notified during your stay about any specific cleaning issue, we would have promptly addressed it rather than having you clean anything yourselves. Regarding the balcony, Lahaina Shores is an oceanfront property in a tropical environment, and occasional birds are unfortunately part of that environment. We do our best to address these issues when they are brought to our attention. Several of the other concerns mentioned—including the building’s elevator-area flooring, artwork, signage, resort-wide air conditioning, water interruption, and electrical outage—are building/HOA or utility matters outside the control of an individual condo owner. The temporary loss of electricity and water and the extended resort-wide AC outage were unexpected infrastructure issues, and we are sorry that they negatively affected your stay. We also want to clarify that the hurricane did not directly impact Maui, although the resulting weather conditions did affect some excursions.
