HOUSE DETAILS
This 3,800-sq-ft home spans three levels and sits on a peaceful half-acre lot. With plenty of indoor and outdoor areas, itâs perfect for families and friends to gather for meals, share stories of the dayâs adventures, or spread out for a little quiet time to relax and reflect on the memories being made.
TOP LEVEL: This floor has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a quaint kidâs reading nook (kids love the bear chair).
+ Primary Bedroom: Very large room with one king bed. (Sleeps 2)
+ Bedroom 2: Small room with one queen bed. (Sleeps 2)
+ Bedroom 3: Medium room with two full beds. (Sleeps 2-4)
+ Bedroom 4: Large room with one queen bed. (Sleeps 2)
+ Primary Bathroom: An ensuite bathroom with shower and deep bathtub
combination.
+ Bathroom 2: The shared bathroom accessed from common hallway. It has
shower with sliding glass doors.
MIDDLE LEVEL: This floor has the kitchen, breakfast nook, formal dining area, half bath, laundry room, and a sunken living room with Entry Door #2. The large deck is also accessed from this level.
+ Kitchen: All new cabinets, countertops, sink, and appliances. Well stocked and
ready to create some special family meals and memories.
+ Breakfast Nook: Round table with banquette bench and antique ice cream parlor
chairs. A charming space for casual meals, snacks, drinks and storytelling.
+ Dining Area: The table normally seats 8 people. It is extendable with two end
leaves which then seats 12 people.
+ Living Room: This comfortable room is perfect for family gatherings, offering
plenty of seating on sofas, chairs, the fireplace hearth, and even the plush new
carpeted floor. A large picture window showcases a lovely view of Mount Sopris,
creating a cozy and welcoming space to relax and spend time together.
BOTTOM LEVEL: This level has a family room, full bathroom, and Entry Door #1.
(There are also two bedrooms, #5 & #6, but they are not currently available for use.)
+ Family Room: This is the place to hangout and watch movies, Netflix series,
sports, and more. The room has a 65-inch TV and a very large sectional sofa with
pull-out ottoman. With ottoman fully extended, the sofa transforms into a
movie-time lounger or night-time sleeper. Sleeps 2
(for slumber party, 3-4 small kids).
+ Bathroom 4: This is a small bathroom with shower and bathtub combination.
OUTDOOR AREAS:
+ Deck: The large deck provides panoramic views of Storm King Mountain, Oasis
Creek Canyon, Flat Tops Wilderness Area, Iron Mountain, Glenwood Canyon,
Lookout Mountain, Red Mountain, and Mount Sopris (leaves permitting). It also
has a table and chairs for outdoor dining and a gas grill. The deck is also good for
stargazing after dark.
+ Buckhorn Bar: The backyard is mostly natural and open, but its main feature is the
one-of-a-kind, barn-style hangout known as the Buckhorn Bar. This rustic spot
has been the backdrop for countless family picnics, parties, and celebrations over
the years. With eight Adirondack chairs and plenty of big, flat rocks for extra
seating, itâs the perfect place for everyone to gather, relax, and share laughs
under the open sky.
+ Parking Spaces: The property has space for six cars. Two by Entry Door #1 and
four by Entry Door #2.
PROXIMITY TO ATTRACTIONS
Hiking & Mountain Biking: The Red Mountain Trail is about 300 ft. from the house. This road/trail provides outlook points with incredible views of the Roaring Fork and Colorado rivers, Mount Sopris and the Elk Mountain Range.
Relaxation & Wellness: Glenwood Hot Springs Pool, Iron Mountain Hot Springs, Spa of the Rockies, Yampah Spa & Vapor Caves, Splendor Mountain Spa, and more are all located within 1-2 miles of the house.
Dining & Shopping: There are many restaurants, bars, coffee shops, ice cream stores, and boutique shops located in the downtown area. Most are within 0.7 miles and can be reached with a scenic walk or short drive.
Outdoor Adventures (easy walks): Roaring Fork River park (Veltus Park) is 0.36 miles from the front door (7 minute walk). This is a great place to see, hear, and touch the river water. Colorado River park (Two Rivers Park) is 0.5 miles from the house (10 minute walk). Get on the Rio Grande Trail, follow it along the Roaring Fork River, and see where this river merges into the Colorado River. Cross the pedestrian bridge to explore the park.
The many other attractions and activities (e.g. Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, rafting, kayaking, fishing, skiing, snowboarding, cycling, more hiking and mountain biking, golf, and more) are all easy to access from this home base.
