Das Lava Family Inn liegt nur wenige Minuten von den heißen Quellen in der Innenstadt von Lava entfernt. Wenn Sie ein Skifahrer sind, ist Pebble Creek Ski Resort auch nur wenige Minuten entfernt.

Unser Eigentum ist ein voll möbliertes Ferienhaus mit 7 Schlafzimmern und 5 ½ Bädern. Ideal für große oder mehrere Familientreffen, Exerzitien, Hochzeiten und Empfänge. Perfekte Kulisse für Familienfotos. Das Haus ist sehr abgelegen, mit umgebender Vegetation, grasbewachsenem Hof, kleinem Teich und einem Bach, durch den man fast täglich wild lebende Tiere beobachten kann, besonders morgens und abends.

Das Hotel liegt im Südosten Idahos, eine Stunde und 45 Minuten Fahrt nördlich von Salt Lake City. Umgeben von Bergen von öffentlichem Land mit Wegen, die sich perfekt für Wanderungen, Spaziergänge, Radtouren, Dirtbiking, Vierradtouren und Reiten eignen. Der Fluss Portnuef befindet sich direkt unterhalb der Unterkunft und bietet Sportlern Zugang zum exzellenten Forellenangeln. Der Fluss verfügt über mehrere Wasserstellen zum Schwimmen in der Nähe oder zum Beobachten der vielen Wasserfälle. Es ist unterhaltsam und entspannend, auf dem Portnuef bei Lava Hot Springs zu schwimmen - besonders in den heißen Sommermonaten.

Lava Hot Springs ist nicht die einzige heiße Quelle in Idaho. 46 Meilen östlich von unserem Familienheim sollten Sie Soda Springs, Idaho, einen der weltweit einzigen gefangenen Geysire, besuchen! Der Geysir ist jetzt mit einer Kappe versehen und wird von einem Timer gesteuert. Er explodiert zu jeder vollen Stunde und erreicht das ganze Jahr über Höhen von 30 Metern.

This property was amazing. Very clean. Host was amazing to communicate with me on anything I needed. We loved the wild turkeys and ducks. They greeted us every morning. The property's kitchen facilities were so wonderful. I would recommend this property to anyone and my family wants to come stay again. I think I will try in the warmer months to take full advantage of all this property has to offer. Thank you.

Great place for a large group!

We had a great weekend at the Lava Family Inn and definitely would recommend it! We had 16 in our group in total and there was more than enough space. The kitchen and living areas are great for spending time together and playing games. Kitchen was well equipped with everything you need. The host was great with communication and ensured we had a lovely stay. There are ducks and wild turkeys at the property which were very entertaining and fun to watch. Only downside of that is the ducks are pretty messy and despite our efforts to keep them away from the front entrance, they really like to hang out there and leave their messes where everyone has to walk to enter the home. We also visited the Sanctuary down the road and it is quite beautiful and peaceful. I can imagine in summer it would be so much fun. All in all, I wound highly recommend this property for any group retreat or family reunion. Thank you!

Fun Stay

We loved our time here. The house was perfect for our needs and the size of our family! We especially loved the yard with the wild animals coming in to visit each day. The house was clean, the yard is immaculate. It was a little ways from Lava Hot Springs, but not too far. We liked being by ourselves up on the hillside! I would highly recommend a stay here

Private river property is amazing!

We absolutely loved being at the beautiful, peaceful, private river sanctuary. The family loved playing and swimming in and around the rock waterfalls. Kids rode tubes down the falls. We had paddle boards and kayaks too. The house was fantastic and accommodated 38 of us. My only complaint is the basement is outdated and needs a good facelift. The yard is shady and private. Great place to host a reunion. The house is better than the pictures show it to be (except the basement rooms) and there are bigger beds and extra mattresses than what is listed. Joel was super helpful through texts and calls to help me know what was available so I could assign families the right size rooms. He is friendly and great to work with. The master bed is unbelievably huge!

Young Women’s Camp

This was the perfect property for our youth camp! We spent most of the time outside on the beautiful shaded, property. There were so many beds and places to sleep for everyone. The pantry was large to keep all of our food. It was perfect, and I want to come back for a family reunion!

Great family reunion location

This was an ideal set-up for our family reunion of 34 people. We loved the large kitchen and large group gathering areas. The upstairs was a little warm (it was the middle of July), but the rest of the house was very comfortable. The outdoor area was lovely with plenty of grassy areas and shade. Communication with the owner was easy, immediate, and clear.

Great place with plenty to do

Had 36 family members staying for a reunion. Lots of room and Kids enjoyed the size of the kitchen. Enough places available so if someone needed some alone time they could get away for a few min. the 10 x 10 bed in the master bedroom was a little silly but thats ok. You could tell you were in a basement when you were down there. over all it was good. The host texted me a couple of times a day to see how things were going, a little bit invasive for me.

Great family reunion property.

So many good things about this home. The main floor and upstairs were gorgeous and clean and spacious. Felt very secluded and comfortable to let the little ones play inside or out. We had an extended family gathering with 29 people including children ages 3-17. There was plenty of space for sleeping and meals. The basement rooms were not the favorites- definitely needs some updating, (mildew smell, poorly lit, ac room was creepy as anything, and the basement shower head has multiple leaks and sprays everywhere). but we were comfortable enough and can’t complain because the price was great compared to similar properties. 20-30 minutes to lava hot springs which has great activities for all ages. Lots of wildlife including ducks, turkeys, red tailed hawks (nest on the property with babies in spring of 2024), and lots of other birds first thing in the morning. Also domestic bunnies were fun for the kids.

Quiet, peaceful, & relaxing

We had a staff retreat. Beautiful ranch house with plenty of space, quiet and relaxing property. Great kitchen, numerous decks, and a great big room for relaxing and meeting. Within thirty minutes of places to eat in Pocatello or close by Lava Hot Springs.

Family Ski Trip

There was plenty of room for family to eat, sleep and play games. We are a skiing family and it was so close to the resort.and not to far to take little's home when they were done with half day. It wasn't to far to enjoy a night soaking at Lava. Great trip!!

Started out rough but overall a good experience

Thing’s happened when we first arrived. The situation was bad from the beginning but after we found out the owner was in an accident the day before then we switched our minds from frustration to understanding. This was a good home and a big enough home for a large group. Turkeys and ducks were fun for the kids. Lots of pros. The only negative this was no WiFi and that the dish for tv didn’t work upstairs for the wind down times. Overall a good experience.

Great place for large family gatherings!

We started here too celebrate my dad's 60th birthday and it was great! Everyone had their own rooms and there was plenty of space to spread out and not feel like everyone was on top of each other. The master bed was a surprise! We've never seen a bed that big! The theme song was "why don't you just meet me in the middle" 😂 The owner was great to work with and very responsive when we realized we were missing some sheets for one of the extra beds. When he's told us there were turkeys on the property we could feed, we didn't realize there were that many! So fun to see them running around the yard! A few little quirks about the house, the hot water had a sulphur smell to it, but overall a great place to stay and enjoy some really good family time! No Internet, but we were there to hang out anyway so it was great!

I am the oldest boy of 12 children and have 4 children and 1 grand baby. I grew up in West Bountiful, Utah, where I learned to milk at the age of 5, and milked alone at the age of 7. Growing up as a family we made several trips, to Idaho to visit the Crossleys with the Potato harvest, and went fishing afterwards. The trips to Idaho as a young boy, is when I fell in love with Idaho. My parents also made trips to Missouri, and on occasion was able to go, when our milk cows had dried up. My parents ended up buying a farm in Missouri when I was 12, of which my parents still live there today, and Milk a cow together morning and night.

I have been Electrical Engineer for 26 years, and have done work all over the US as well as countries abroad. I currently work an engineer in Idaho, traveling as an engineer have basically stopped. Being able to work from home in 2006 and fairly close to an airport, I decided to buy this place in Idaho. In 2007 I added 3000 sqft to the home, and 2010 the older part of the house was remodeled, making it a great place for family gatherings. This was my primary residence until 2011, where I accepted a position with a large engineering firm out of state in the Kansas City Area, fairly close to the family farm. Missing the people and the lovely state of Idaho, I decided to move back in 2016. My housing manager and I both live close to this property, which is nice so I can also host reunions of my large family.

This property is an ideal place for large family gatherings. It has two large kitchen / family rooms for entertaining large groups. We do several family reunions and average about 4 weddings/receptions a year.

It's great all year around from skiing and snowmobiling in the winter, hiking in the spring, Lava Hot Springs with natural hot pools open year round, white water tubing in the summer. Excellant hunting in the fall.
