One of the best things about Bear Hug Lodge is its location in Chalet Village, right on the edge of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. You’re surrounded by the beauty of the Smokies, with incredible mountain views, frequent wildlife sightings, and easy access to both the national park and downtown Gatlinburg. Guests also have access to the Chalet Village clubhouse and its amenities. You may even see mama bears and her cubs, and experience the amazing wildlife that makes the Smokies so special. The drive up is a little steep, but once you arrive, the views make it absolutely worth it! It’s called the “Park Line” because this is where Gatlinburg meets the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. There are no mountains beyond us—just miles and miles of protected national park wilderness. That’s why it’s so common to see bears, deer, wild turkeys, squirrels, chipmunks, and so much other wildlife right from the cabin as they naturally travel between the park and the surrounding area. I’m so happy you enjoyed the peaceful mornings, breathtaking sunsets from the hot tub, and the unforgettable experience of being surrounded by nature while still being just minutes from downtown Gatlinburg. Thank you for taking bear safety seriously and for respecting that we are guests in their home. We wish you would have contacted us during your stay with any items you were dissatisfied with, and we would have made our best effort to remedy them. The home undergoes ongoing maintenance, and once a year is taken down, so larger items requiring more time may be addressed. We're continuously working to make improvements to provide our guests with a positive experience."

We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following: - We do not advertise that each bedroom has its own bathroom on the listing, but we apologize that this caught you off guard. - There is a new hot tub cover on order. - The washer/dryer combo unit did have a problem during your weekend stay, and as explained to you, the part could not quickly be obtained over the weekend, but we hope that the measures taken by Evolve help to make up for this inconvenience. - The pool table is scheduled for its annual felt replacement after the busy season. - We apologize that you were not comfortable with the temperature in the house. Guests should be able to set the temperature at any desired level as it is not restricted in any way. - We encourage guests to reach out with any concerns while in residence so we have the opportunity to make things right - the local contact would have been happy to help with the pests.
