Cozy Cabin With A View

This was our second time at this property and we hope to return next summer. The cabin is small but efficient with a complete kitchen and full sized appliances. I love the sunroom where the view of Little Round Lake is stunning.

Grand Pines cabin/boat review

Reviewer Comments: Loved the location and cabin was very cute and comfortable, but dirty. Cobwebs and dust/dirt in corners, a couple stove burners didn't work, some broken window blinds, etc. For the higher cost, we expected clean. Someone was supposed to meet us at the cabin to show us the boat keys and cabin features, but nobody showed up. The pontoon boat was a mess and had a torn bimini top and tears in the cushions. It ran okay for the first 1.5 days then broke...we were able to trade for another eventually. It was a step up, but still had some tears and was dirty.

The only feedback I can give is the chairs in the cabin are really old and you can't fold in the recliner, we even put towels on them as the condition was bad, should maybe be replaced with a couch. 4 day getaway

The refrigerator didn't work to keep things cool but the freezer worked and we had coolers. The reclining chairs seemed to be broken and we couldn't get the TV to work but we spent most of our time outside, on the porch or on the water with the pontoon boat so it was a great, relaxing, quiet 4 day getaway!

The only issue was there wasn't a "love seat" in the "living room", but rather 2 "lazy boy" type chairs which were almost impossible to fold back up once they were opened into a full recline position. I suggest those chairs be replaced with a love seat or 2 lazy boy chairs that operate smoothly.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin is delightful in most ways. It is very cozy with plenty of room for 2. The outside deck space is big with table and benches. An umbrella for the table would have given us an additional option to be outdoors when sun overhead. We were glad we brought some extra beach towels and hand towels as we used them to cover the 2 reclining chairs in the cabin. They are very grungy and in poor working condition. Once in the chairs, we had to climb out over the foot rest when up and then use our feet to put the rest in downward position. Of course being out of the cabin most of the time, the chairs were a minor but uncomfortable part of an otherwise lovely atmosphere. In regards to the fishing in little round lake, it was amazing. Small mouth bass, perch, sun fish, crappies and blue gills galore!! Nature did not disappoint either. Eagles, loons, Canadian geese, ducks and even river otters.

The cabin is so nice and the deck overlooks a small beach and the lake. the kitchen is small but you can cook a meal on the stove and enjoy outside. We also used the grill and fire pit in the evenings. Grand Pines staff is great to work with and our family so enjoyed the stay. I would recommend them.

Little cabin on the lake

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I would say this cabin is in a perfect location, just steps from the lake and beach. This could be a 5 star rental with a little TLC. The things that were broken I had read were broken back in a 2017 review, example, two recliners that would not open and close and had damaged the wood floors underneath, blinds that were tied open because they were broken, screen door latch broken that allowed the door to the screen porch to remain open and let all the bugs in. Also, many of the window screens are coming out of the frames so we could not open those windows, although the windows are very updated and did come with a pontoon boat that tan great and we had fun using it to fish and cruise the lake, however it did not have any workable gauges so it was a guessing game for gas, speed and lake depth.There was a grounds manager named Mike and he was great, he got the boat ready, fixed the door latch when we called and even shipped back a coat we left on a kitchen chair. It was clean and you are required to strip your bedding and put it all in a bag for housekeeping, failure to do so will get you a $50 fine.
