Better then the picures

The house it's located on a quiet dead end street, but still closed to the "touristic" (think 3 cafes and 3 little shops), and walking distance to the park entrance. We enjoyed the beautiful garden, the Jacuzzi and the hammocks.

The house and the garden is on the border of the National Park and still close to the civilization. Good news is that Costa Rica Electricity Company (ICE) is putting up street lamps and improving the infrastructure. Deadline: in one month. Of course for some real nature lovers this might be bad news.

lovely house, great location, felt like home

this house is charming and has everything you could need, the housekeeper and gardener were so sweet and everything including the jacuzzi was clean and sparkling, such a cute town too, and beach spectacular, after being in the Osa it was nice to be in a place with choices of restaurants and shops, and the people everywhere are so kind and friendly, a safe and family kinda town, amazing boat trip into the mangroves, our 3 young boys, loved this place, the town, the beach, the surf, the house, the hot tub, and having a washing machine was so handy.

Incredible Stay in Uvita

Casa Mediterranean exceeded all our expectations with our stay in Uvita. The property is beautiful and the various patios and gardens created an extremely relaxing stay. I read more then I have in a long time because the environment was so conducive to it. The separate upstairs house was great for my wife and I and the kids enjoyed having the downstairs house. Plenty of space for a family of 5. Ned was extremely responsive and a great host when we had questions. Highly recommend if you’re headed to Uvita!

The perfect Uvita stay

Getting to the house and checking in was extremely easy. The location was perfect. Close to town, close to envision, with nature all around. We saw toucans, macaws and parakeets. Many lizards up in the trees as well. The place was stocked with a monocular that helped bird watching. The pool was perfect for cooling off in the day and loved the outdoor areas. Laundry machine with all supplies was available. And, it’s walking distance to the whale tail! Would highly recommend

Great Holidays with my family near the beach with the nature

My wife, my two kids and I have spent the most wonderful week at the house near the beach in Uvita last month. The house was big enough for 4 with all the necessary amenities. Good size kitchen was very useful. Tv with satellite channels kept the kids busy. A/C and the ceiling fans were used from time to time. The rancho in the garden was used for lunch and lots of reading. Washing machine came in handy. Be aware though: the internet speed in Costa Rica is not so great! The house is located near enough to the beach that you could still hear the ocean. Restaurants are within walking distance but a car can be handy to reach further areas. Caretaker Miguel was very helpful. He does not speak English though. You are getting lots of value for the price.

it has been a year that this property was rented to vacationers and we have kept improving every day. We are planning to install a Jacuzzi in the garden so that adults and kids can also enjoy the garden to the full extend. Uvita is quite new to tourism however it is one one the best resorts in Costa Rica. We hope to make our guests happy.

Angenehmes Haus in wunderbarem Garten

Wir haben das sehr schön eingerichtete, gut ausgestattete und saubere Haus sehr genossen. Der sehr schöne und gepflegte Garten hat uns beeindruckt, er eignet sich auch bestens zum Relaxen. Anfahrt, Kommunikation und Schlüsselübergabe war problemlos. Am Ort und in der Umgebung kann man vieles unternehmen, es gibt wunderbare Sandstrände.

Perfect Cabin In a Beautiful Setting

We were very happy staying here as it exceeded our expectations. The location is ideal to access the beach or drive to other points of interest. Tucked away on a private, beautifully landscaped lot the porches were enjoyable early in the morning and later in the evening to relax. The owners decorated the home beautifully with their travel finds from around the world which was a nice touch. We used the kitchen a lot and appreciated how well stocked it was with everything necessary to cook. There was salt, pepper, cooking oil and vinegar to use plus every kitchen utensil. The bedrooms were comfortable and were set up with ac and fans. Both showers had excellent water pressure and were HOT! Having two bathrooms was very convenient. Washer machine was a huge bonus as we had been traveling prior to our stop here. We would definitely stay here again!

AMAZING!!! Great vacation experience.

My wife and I stayed in Costa Rica Holiday Home Casa Mediterranea in March 2018. We were amazed with the great and wonderful garden. With birds and vegetation, it is truly an heavenly nature where you will definitely impressed. While we were in the middle of nature, we had all kinds of luxuries. Kitchen was wonderful and fully functional. Scenery was great. Everything especially the quality bed sheets were very clean. We had a chance to meet with the owner. He was very friendly and helpful. We could tell that he has a good artistic taste just by looking at artifacts and paintings displayed in the house. Great location where everything was very accessible such as Uvita Bay, beaches, restaurants etc. Last but not least, we paid a reasonable price for all this

An amazing house in a gorgeous area

We absolutely loved the rental, which is beatifully decorated and well maintained. Definitely the highlight of our trip. We, me and my two girls enjoyed watching the hummingbirds while we took a soak in the hotub. Breakfast on the deck is another calming experience. During our stay, we took a hike to naucaya waterfall, which was lovely. I would highly recommend this rental to everyone exploring the pacific coastal area.

Beautiful home

Thanks for sharing your home . It is very clean and well layed out with easy drive to to anything . The first morning of our stay we heard noise outside and found a tree with 2 macaw birds . In a short time at least a dozen macaws were playing in the tree , what a sight . Try the bbq in town and the restaurants food was really tasty had the red snapper . Thanks

Un lugar excelente en Uvita!

Desde que llegas a este lugar te transportas a un lugar maravilloso lleno de naturaleza, la cabaña es muy acogedora y confortable, cuenta con todas las comodidades para todo tipo de persona, el lugar es muy limpio y seguro, en el jardín se disfruta mucho con los niños. Un punto importante es que el lugar se encuentra a poca distancia de playas y parques nacionales que son extraordinarios. Una grata experiencia totalmente recomendada.

Excellent Home in an excellent Town

A new, clean and cute wooden house with full amenities. Its garden is like a miniature national park where you can find all kinds of trees, flowers and birds. The deck/porch, outside bar, Jacuzzi, outside tub/showers, and garden canopy are awesome just awesome places to spend times. More importantly it is in a good driving distance to many beautiful national parks and beaches...More importantly, the manager is an easily reachable person via phone/email/facebook/whatsapp, and a great source for things to do in Costa Rica...

Pretty location near beach and amenities

Comfortable, clean house near to small town and beautiful beach. Well equipped for cooking but restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance. Further amenities a 1.5 mile walk along the main road, which is where the town is. Nice, large garden with tub which was useful for cooling down as it was very hot in January. Air conditioning in bedroom worked but made room too cold and we couldn't figure out how to get it to maintain a constant comfortable temperature so had to keep turning it on and off in the night. Lots of pretty birds in the garden and field next door. Loved the sound of the monkeys but didn't see any. Lovely walk to the Whales Tale beach 10 minutes away and great place to watch the sun set. Local people lovely and very helpful.

Place to stay in Uvita!

The house is lovely, spacious and very clean. It is centrally located in Uvita and the garden is just spectacular. The house is easy to find on google maps/Waze for directions. Honestly, the pictures online don't do it justice, the property is much bigger than the pictures give it credit. The house has wifi, AC units in each room, fans and a fully stocked kitchen. We woke up to the sounds of birds in the morning and enjoyed a glass of wine in the Jacuzzi in the afternoon, right around sunset. We were able to spot some monkeys and humming birds right outside of the gate, which was a very pleasant surprise. The owner gave us some tips of places to visit or restaurants to go to in the area and that advice much appreciated. There were even some beach towels in the closet we were able to use, something most rentals do not offer! We were only 2 people but this place could easily fit 4 people as it has 2 bedrooms. Uvita is a lovely town with a nice long beach and the house is just minutes away from all the attractions. This is the place to stay if you ever visit Uvita!

Excelente fin de semana!

Salir de la ciudad y encontrar un espacio para enamorarte de la naturaleza y el silencio, pero a la vez tan cerca de todo... no es fácil! Casa Mediterránea es la mezcla perfecta! Una casa muy bien acondicionada con dos cuartos, uno con dos camas individuales y otro con una cama matrimonial, y todas las comodidades, aire acondicionado, un baño completo, refri, cocina y todos los utencilios para cocinar... si quiere cocinar, sino, muchas opciones de restaurantes sencillos o no para todos los presupuestos en las cercanías. Las ventanas tienen cedazos para evitar los mosquitos, pero disfrutar la brisa. Tiene un estilo de cabaña con detalles en madera y detallitos de decoración que lo hacen un lugar muy acogedor! Los espacios más abiertos tienen ventiladores. Tiene espacio para parquear el vehículo, hasta 3 carros. Es una zona tranquila y segura pero la propiedad cuenta con un portón de acceso que se puede mantener cerrado. Fácil acceso desde la carretera o la calle principal. Con un par de supermercados a menos de 1 km de distancia que tienen lo que pueda necesitar para abastecerse. Igual cuenta con TV con cable e internet en caso de que se requiera conexión con el mundo externo! Fue una refrescante experiencia desde todo punto de vista, sentarse en la terraza a escuchar las olas del mar! Porque aunque no está frente al mar, está a un manglar de distancia y se escucha fuerte su relajante vaivén! O que tal una copa de vino en el delicioso Jacuzzi al aire libre y rodeado de jardines muy bien cuidados, realmente se disfruta se los puedo asegurar! Bellísimas playas muy cerca Uvita, Ventanas, Dominical! Agradezco la limpieza del lugar y los utencilios, ropa de cama y paños muy limpios. Muchas Gracias por un fin de semana que me sacó de mi rutina diaria! Lo amé! Super recomendada!

Cozy quarters

This Uvita home is located in a very quiet Tico community within walking distance to a few places, tho there were no directions left on how to reach anything, the beach being the biggy. We felt relaxed at the home and sat on porch each evening. Tho the structure itself is newer, the interior could stand a few fixes and good cleaning. Kitchen counter by sink is stained, light fixtures filled with bugs, some ceiling fans not operating. Laundry hanging on porch and by front gate when we arrived. Lack of blankets for # of guests and we were even required to pay an additional amount pp/night! Only one small futon for sitting of which one of the back cushions was missing and cover was hanging on clothesline. Hot tub was not ready upon arrival, had to request same. Garden hoses left strewn about in various locations in yard. Think a better management company is needed for this home. The gardener and laundry/key pick up lady were very nice.

Thank you for all the constructive comments. a) Normally people never need blankets since it never gets cool However there are plenty of blankets available upon request. b) My apologies for having laundry still hanging when you arrived. it looks bad. It was a very rainy time and the humidity was at it maximum. The drying process of the laundry is taking days. c) "Stained kitchen counter" - previous guest has bunt the wooden kitchen count by placing a hot pan on it. It will be a major structural change to be done in the near future. My apologies again. d) All fans are working fine. The can be operated by wall switch or by the hanging chain from the fan.The chain is to set the fan speed as well as the light independently. e) The house price is set for double occupancy. I think it is only fair to have a minimal increment for additional persons to up to 6 persons which makes the per person accommodation rate almost like a hostel rate. Thank you again.

Unas vacaciones perfectas

Excelente! Precioso lugar muy bien acondicionado. Cerca de la playa, de fácil acceso. La cocina muy bien equipada. Lo recomiendo!

Entspannung pur!

Als überarbeitete, allein erziehende Mutter, die Stress und Hektik einer norddeutschen Großstadt entfliehen wollte, war ich froh, direkt nach meiner Ankunft in Costa Rica dieses Juwel einer privaten Urlaubsresidenz zu beziehen. Für meinen ebenso begeisterten 9-jährigen Sohn und mich boten sich überwältigende Eindrücke von Natur: Intensive Farben von Himmel, Wasser und Pflanzen, dazu die Geräusche exotischer Vögel und Brüllaffen, und nicht zu vergessen, der weitläufige, manchmal menschenleere Traumstrand kaum 5 Minuten entfernt. Im Haus ist an alles gedacht, von der geschmackvollen, bequemen Einrichtung bis zu allen notwendigen Haushaltsgeräten. Ich kann nur jedem empfehlen, der aus Stress und Hektik unserer europäischen Zivilisation ganz schnell auf Entspannung umschalten möchte, hierher zu kommen. Vielen Dank an Ned, dass wir dieses wunderbare Haus sechs Tage lang genießen durften! Wird werden immer wieder gern hierher kommen. Sehriban und Renas

Beautiful little gem!

We loved the little house! It has almost anything you can possibly need! Great location! The pictures are very accurate! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the internet: "Not reliable" its an understatement! We were there 5 days and it didn't work at all, not even 1 time in any of the devices that the 4 adults carried. As a native costarican I know for a fact that, even though the service in the area might not be great, there are other options that can be use that will be much better that a "Data card", such as the internet from the provider in the area "Claro". Also, it would make a big difference if another air conditioning unit is install at least in the main area, the heat was unbearable and only the people who slept in the master bedroom were able to get some sleep. Other than that the place is lovely!

Thank you for your comments and proposal. I will go to the Claro office and change the internet provider to see if it works better. I know it is important to have a decent internet speed. As for the additional A/C's: The house has open spaces to the air to pass through, in general to stay with the architecture of typical regional houses. In order to add additional A/C's we would need to change a lot of things so that the house is air tight. most guests commented to have the house as it is. Thank you.
