We want to offer some context, as this guest requested a refund multiple times throughout and after their stay, including after Vrbo’s own review confirmed no wrongdoing on our part. The AC was working before check-in. The guest later reported it as “not cooling”; we found the thermostat set to 65°F, a temp no AC unit can reach in Florida summer heat. The next morning we came to inspect it, as checking a reported issue promptly is standard host practice, not an intrusion. The guest said the AC was working and declined to let us look, so the issue was never independently verified. After they checked out, we inspected the unit and found it functioning normally. The claim that the electrical panel is “exposed” is untrue — photos show it’s fully enclosed. The garage-converted room is disclosed as a listing feature, and backyard unavailability is also listed. Pest control was done that day as routine maintenance; no active infestation was found. This property is pet-friendly, as listed. Our records show no cat has been hosted here in over a year, making the cat-allergy claim unfactual too. Our professional cleaning team does a great job cleaning between stays. We put real care into hosting every guest, and it’s disheartening to get a review like this after a strong, 5-star history. Not every hosting goes smoothly, but we wanted to share the full picture.
