Ganarew Cottage
Ganarew, self catering cottage offers flexible accommodation over two floors with magnificent views over the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. The cottage is beautifully decorated and stylishly furnished throughout.

The space
Downstairs Accommodation
On the ground floor, the self catering cottage features a spacious living room with dining area. There is a modern TV, Free Satellite channels, a DVD player and Wifi, perfect for lazy days! The luxurious sofas, exposed stone walls, original stone floors and ceiling beams create a cosy feel around the woodburning fire. The fully equipped kitchen, includes multiple storage units, a cooker, hob, microwave, larger fridge, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and crockery for 10.
Adjoining the kitchen is the garage, which provides space for a games room, bike/kayak storage, laundry room and wet dog room. Equipment includes freezer, washing machine, drier rack and a multi-games table for snooker, table tennis or table-top football. The downstairs accommodation also has a bathroom with basin and WC.
Upstairs Accommodation
Upstairs the accommodation comprises of; The Master bedroom, enjoying fantastic views over the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean and includes an ensuite bathroom with a large bath, hand-held shower, basin and WC. The master bedroom also benefits from an adjoining nursery with cot.
A further 3 bedrooms, share a family bathroom, all bed linen and towels are included. All bedrooms have zip and link beds and can be setup either as twin rooms (with good sized single beds) or superking doubles (once linked up).
The family bathroom is newly installed as of 2015 and boasts a good-sized bath with a high quality overhead shower unit, basin and WC. The self catering cottage is perfect for family and friends, offering truly flexible accommodation in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean.
Guest access
Outside at Ganarew
Ganarew has off road parking for two cars and a small private garden. The cottage garden has a BBQ and picnic bench for outdoor dining as well as a lawn for children and dogs. There is a lockable bike and Kayak store as well as fuel, power and a starter pack for the stove.
If you plan to bring more than two cars, you will need to park the extra vehicles approximately 50meters from the cottage, just down a gentle slope. This is to avoid blocking access for others.

Wye Valley Cycling & Walking Routes
There are too many to mention! Ganarew is situated in a spectacular part of the Wye Valley around the area of the Wye Gorge and falls within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Whitchurch and Ganarew Parish is blessed with the largest number and greatest length of footpaths of any parish in the whole of the United Kingdom!
Immediately behind Ganarew Cottage you can walk up into the woodland and look out over the Wye Valley, River Wye, into Wales and back into England. Alternatively, head over the A40 to Little Doward and King Arthurs Cave.
Coppett Hill is a 240 acre nature reserve just a few miles away and also has great walks up and over it, or all around the base alongside the River Wye. Finally, there is the famous Symonds Yat and the viewpoint, which is only a few minutes drive away. From the viewpoint you will see Peregrine Falcons as well as the beautiful meandering River Wye in the Wye Valley.

Aside from the walking, there are many other activities around the Wye Valley area including kayaking, canoeing, absailing, rock climbing, mountain biking , horse riding, archery, fishing and golf. For full details, please see the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley tourist information site.

A charming local pub with stunning views across the valley and honest food. There are lots of outdoor tables on the riverside terrace and a roaring log fire inside.
