About this space
Located in an exclusive, north county residential neighborhood, this ocean-view home is the perfect coastal getaway. Minutes from Del Mar, with its world-renowned beaches, racetrack and fine restaurants, it is perfect for remote work, with fast WiFi, a computer monitor, printer, fully equipped kitchen, huge deck for al fresco dining, plus a balcony. San Diego is a 20 minute drive. Amenities include a gas grill, washer/dryer, and an enclosed garage. Enjoy ocean views beneath majestic pines.
The space
Located west of Interstate 5 in a safe, residential neighborhood with gorgeous ocean and sunset views. 1,080 square feet of indoor living space.
The master bedroom includes a king-sized bed with a memory foam mattress, en-suite bath, and sliding door that opens onto a huge deck. The room also has a safe for storing valuables and passports.
Working remotely is a pleasure in the living area with a lovely ocean view through the floor-to-ceiling windows. There is plenty of room for two people to spread out and work in this huge, light, bright and airy space. The "snappy" Wifi of 45 mbps can stream 4K for those important meetings, plus a computer monitor, printer, and office supplies are provided.
The open-concept living/dining area has two sliding-glass doors that not only provide great ocean views, but easy access to a balcony with a bistro table and lounging area. The balcony is a great place for enjoying morning coffee, or a sunset salute.
The living area is furnished with a daybed and pop-up trundle. These can be set up as either one or two twin beds, or combined to make a king. This space can be screened off with two six-foot-tall room dividers to create a second private sleeping area. All the windows have light-blocking Levolor blinds.
The kitchen is fully-equipped to enable guests to prepare their own meals. Included are many herbs, spices, oils, and condiments.
We provide a variety of Keurig coffee pods, ground and whole-bean coffee, plus a wide selection of teas. You can also try the milk frother, a fun way to enjoy your morning beverage.
There is a huge, private deck (about 225 feet squared) with a large cantilever umbrella, table, chairs and a gas grill just off the kitchen for ocean-view, al fresco dining.
Grocery and convenience stores, restaurants (including fine dining, casual and take-out) and excellent shopping are all nearby.
Free parking and gear storage is provided in the on-site, enclosed garage. Please note that vehicles longer than 17 feet, or taller than 6 feet, 3 inches will not fit. However, free, nearby, on-street parking is plentiful as an alternative.
A guests-only washer and dryer, plus laundry supplies, are included.
Guests also have access to all the equipment needed for a fantastic beach vacation including chairs, umbrellas, towels, boogie-boards and coolers.
The common area has a 50" Amazon Fire 4K UHD Smart TV and the bedroom has a 43" 4K UHD Smart TV. Plus we provide Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
Guest access
Though we live downstairs, the home is divided into two separate, private units. We are available should you need something, but otherwise we will leave you alone to enjoy your stay.
The neighborhood is very walk-able, with sidewalks on both sides of the street. An enclosed garage is provided for your parking and gear storage. Free, on-street parking is also plentiful.
Other things to note
Please note that do to our mild coastal weather we don't have central air conditioning--nor do most homes so near the ocean. However, there are two portable air conditioning units (one in the bedroom and one in the family room), which work well to cool the space on the rare days that it's overly warm. Also, the architect designed the house to have excellent cross-ventilation, the bedroom has a ceiling fan, and we provide moveable fans too.
It's important to us that our guests have a fun, and safe experience in our Airbnb. Therefore, please note that the space is not suitable for infants or toddlers for a number of reasons, including the fact that we have an interior flight of stairs, uncovered electrical outlets, cleaning supplies within reach, and Levolor blind cords.
