Beautiful trip

We had a a fantastic time staying at the Maschpee getaway. The house was spacious and comfortable. The home was exactly as listed, beautiful sunroom, easy walk to the beach, and a lot of restaurants around. We would absolutely love to book the place again.

Very clean and quiet

Great location, very clean house. Beds were comfortable. Power, water and air conditioners were a little quirky but that seems to be a Cape Cod characteristic.

Awesome home

From our first contact with the owners right up to getting our security deposit back incredibly quickly and without any hassle, my wife and I couldn't be more satisfied. Not only was the house comfortable and with all the amenities we could want, the location in Mashpee was perfect with the lake(it's called a pond but it's a lake) a 3 minute walk right down the street and the beach about 15 minutes away. The owners gave us an extensive and detailed list of all the local restaurants, places to shop and things to do. We had no problems what so ever, had a terrific vacation and highly recommend this home.

Pictures are deceiving

The pictures were very deceiving. It is much smaller than it appears. The first impression was dated, musty and possibly moldy. The outside furniture was moldy and dirty and we didn't use any except the wrought iron set which had peeling paint, The inside is furnished with scrap furniture. The couch had no legs and you sink in when sitting on it. No a/c on the main floor, though you did have 5 floor fans ??? Dated vertical blinds which were filthy and falling off of the track. Upstairs clothes were left in the night stand , alot of personal items left in the bathrooms as in hair brushes, deoderant ect. There are portable a/c units which were very noicey and dirty.. Absolutly NO water pressure. Laundry left in the dryer and food left in the fridge. I can go on and on . Most of us got a reaction to the mold, coughing and chest congestion . The linens were thin and smelled moldy. We actually went to tjmax and bought our own towels. The location was great and the owner very kind.

Hi Deborah, this homeowner works hard to provide an ideal stay for all guests, and they would like to clarify the following: - We were saddened to see your review, and we wish you would have reached out during your stay. We would have been more than happy to help with any issues while you were in residence to make your stay most comfortable. - The listing states the square footage of the home. Guests are encouraged to thoroughly review the listing before booking, to ensure they find the perfect vacation home for their needs. - With the exception of a few items, all the furniture was purchased new. Due to the extremely rainy weather this year, the few cushions on the outside chairs are likely to be affected. We are in the woods and are accustomed to the inclement weather. We buy new cushions every season. - This is our family home, which we use and rent. Yes, we keep a few toiletries in the bathroom and perhaps a few items were left in a nightstand. We apologize if this negatively impacted your stay. - There are fans in every room, as we don't have central air. Our open floor plan makes it difficult to cool the main floor, and we are still looking for an A/C unit strong enough to keep it at a comfortable temperature. Since we have window sliders, we keep standing air conditioners in the main bedrooms and den, which is included in the listing description. The three-season sunroom is the place our guests enjoy the most. It's a cooler room with a ceiling fan and a cross breeze. - Before any guests arrive, we make sure to mention the low water pressure, which is out of our control. - Our family was there the week prior and can attest that there was no food in the fridge. Condiments are left in the door for guests to use as they please. Additionally, we have never experienced problems with bad odors or mold in the home. We keep air purifiers in all the bedrooms. We discovered that the dehumidifier was not functioning properly after your stay. This has since been repaired and will help improve the air quality inside the home. We truly go above and beyond and are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!

Wonderful Stay on the Cape!

My family and I just spent a week at Steven's home in Mashpee. It was a great place for us -- perfectly located less than a 5 minute walk from the magical John's Pond and roughly a 5 minute drive to Mashpee Commons. As far as locations goes . . . it was perfect! The house itself was nice! We spent almost all of our time in the sunroom which allowed us to feel outside even when we weren't. All of us loved the outdoor shower too! Steven was incredibly helpful with his communication prior to our stay and with his recommendations. We are so appreciative to have had such an awesome home base for our Cape Cod family vacation!

The Perfect Getaway!

This was the perfect place for our little getaway! The location was absolutely amazing especially with little kids - the walking distance to the beach made everything stress free! It was honestly beyond our expectations from the rooms to the backyard, all the way to the hosts themselves! Would 1000% book again!

Family Retreat

Our two adult children and their spouses joined us for a fun and relaxing week. The house was centrally located for a short drive to the ocean beaches and a small walk to John’s Pond. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies. It was crazy hot and the upstairs AC’s came in handy. Good time had by all.

The home was cozy and well-stocked with kitchen items, towels, an office on the first floor for a few work calls and a gorgeous 3 season sun room and outdoor spaces. Great location to explore within 30 minutes in all directions and get lobster dinner. We ate at home—used outdoor grill twice. Great vaca home away from home.

John’s Pond Getaway

Very nice camp, lots of room. Nice big front deck and Great screened in family room/porch. Short walk a really nice private beach. Very quiet setting. If you like a camp style wooded lot, with lots of trees, and a freshwater beach, this is your place.

Roomy and Comfy

The Pond was a wonderful unexpected plus to our Cape Cod vacation! We enjoyed many sunsets after relaxing beach days. The house is clean and welcoming. We all loved the three season room and two level deck space. If there’s any problem at all, communication with the host is terrific and the handyman lives across the street, which makes for even greater peace of mind. Its located close to the Mashpee Commons, and all kinds of Cape Cod adventures- we loved the Whale Watching cruise out of nearby Barnstable. A fantastic home base for a lovely relaxing vacation!

Great location on the Cape- coupled with good communication with host. A family friendly home with comfy beds with plenty of room to relax. We enjoyed amazing sunsets on the pond and relaxing fire pit fires at night. A fantastic vacation!

Great House for a Family Vacation

Comfortable house in a beautiful & tranquil setting. The private Association beach cannot be beat for small children. All was as expected except for the AC which we were without for 2 days in a heat wave. That's why the 4 stars. We fixed the problems ourselves. The issues were addressed w/the owner after our stay who appreciated our input so would expect that those problems will not occur again. Otherwise no complaints & the price is fair. Would recommend & stay there again.

Lovely, peaceful home away from home

This is a lovely property, in a quiet neighborhood with a short walk to Johns Pond, which is really more of a lake. If you are looking for a vacation spot to gather your thoughts and hit the reset button, this is it. Shopping and restaurants are close by, and the ocean is a short drive away. My favorite part of the house is the sun room, where you can greet the day with a cup of coffee or tea, and end the day with a glass of wine. Will definitely be back.

Perfect family getaway

My sons and I rented this home last year and it was perfect. The house is clean and bright and has everything comfort we need. It's a great location and John's Pond is beautiful. We love the Cape in September and have already booked our week again for this year!

Great family spot with great location!

We had a great stay at this home- it was spacious, relaxing and only a five minute walk to John’s Pond. Also only a quick 15 minute drive to the MV ferry for a day trip! Only down fall- they require you to do all laundry before you leave (sheets, towels), empty all trash in the house and dishes which took up the majority of our last morning. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay!

A little bit of paradise!

Such a lovely home in Mashpee. Conveniently located down the street from John's Pond, my family thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The beds were comfy and the house couldn't have been more perfect. We used the barbeque almost every evening and the fire pit in the back was a delight. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. Owner response is very quick and willing to please you. Wonderful for entertaining and a nice quick walk to a pond. Beds are very comfortable. Finished basement would be wonderful for children. Lots of extra supplies.

Very nice but need to address issues

Very damp house that smelled . One of double beds springs are bad. Didn't like having to wash sheets and towels took 3 hours out of our holiday weekend.fans were great to have in all the rooms. Loved location and space. Overall liked it but laundry and smell addressed would give better rating. FYI bad ants infestation in bedroom with garden theme. Nice and quite location .

Nice comfortable home. Had great time with family. Furniture and beds are tired and need upgrading. Not “new”.

Terrific Property for Golf Foursome

Hosted three guests from Texas to enjoy a wrap around weekend on the Cape for golf. This property was great! The rooms and on site features including the patio, sun room and basement TV room were spacious and comfortable. Great location too! Would definitely rent again in the future.
