Jane was very accessible. The home was welcoming and unique. Everyone said they would definitely be open to staying again. The pool table and hot tub were the highlights for the crew. Everyone could be together without feeling crowded. Loved the acreage and adventure for the children.

Family get away

Everyone had the best time from the oldest down to the baby. The mustangs and Elk were a huge hit for all to see. We will definitely be coming back again very soon!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin it was spacious and the rooms accommodated everyone. Loved that the jacuzzi was inside. The outdoors was very spacious and the cabin had everything. Spoke with the owner and she was very helpful. We will definitely go again. Thank you!!

Perfect Family Home

Every person in our family loved this house! The family room was the perfect size for our group. We had the littles playing with toys while the older members played pool, watched tv, and played games at the table. Well-stocked kitchen, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, and the kids loved playing in the loft area upstairs. We enjoyed seeing the deer and wild horses coming through the yard each day. The entire house was very clean and well-maintained! We hope to come back and make many more fun memories!

Relaxing and Quiet

If you’re looking for a relaxing place to stay with a quiet atmosphere and no traffic this is it. We took a group here to experience the winter in the mountains of Ruidoso and didn’t have to worry about a thing once we arrived. The drive to the property is short from downtown, the commute to the ski mountain is short as well. The host was fantastic and answered any questions we had. And the plus was the wild horses who came to visit us at the property, the kids (little and big) absolutely loved it! We will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Wonderful property for lage family gathering

What an incredible property! This is a perfect property for a large family gathering. The bedrooms are large and provide plenty of room for your family. We had 12 people on our recent trip, and there was plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen is well stocked and everything is labeled for quick reference. Our kids and grandkids really enjoyed watching the elk and deer as they walked right up into the backyard. The owners and hosts we're very responsive and friendly. This property is easy to access and has plenty of room outside for the kids to run and play.We highly recommend this property for your next visit to the Ruidoso area.

Best house we have ever rented

My husband and I with an additional 4 adults, and 5 kids 7-16 stayed on this property for a few days during the Christmas Break. The kitchen was very clean and stocked with everything we could have possibly needed to use. Bathrooms had plenty of towels and toilet paper. My favorite was that this home didn’t have any stairs which kept us all together. We played pool and enjoyed the hot tub when the weather got very gusty and we couldn’t walk down to the river. We have already looked into rebooking this property.

Amazing yet again

This is our second time staying at this property. The owner/host is amazing and very accommodating. She is very easy to get a hold of if you need anything. We have stayed a few years ago and had to go back. My family absolutely love the openness of everything. We loved how there are big areas to gather and enjoy each others company. The hot tub indoors is amazing to relax in. We were able to see a few deer on the big property and saw elk on the drive into town. On our last day it snowed and with the open land it is such a beautiful thing to see. I would absolutely recommend this property to anybody wanting an amazing get away.

New Year’s family gathering was a success. Everyone enjoyed themselves. The house is spacious and well equipped with all basic necessities. Beds are pleasantly comfortable. Kids enjoyed seeing deer come up very close to the front door. I contacted Jane for an inquiry about an item that appeared to be left behind at the house and she was extremely helpful and responsive. Will definitely stay again.

Relaxing Family Weekend

Our family had a wonderful and relaxing weekend in the Alto House. The house was beautiful and large enough to entertain the whole family, whether they were relaxing on the couches, playing pool or enjoying the beautiful outdoor weather. Great Place To Stay With Friends

We were in town for a wedding, had 4 couples (one with a 1 year old) staying in the house and it was roomy enough for us all to be very comfortable. The property is beautiful and the hot tub in the atrium was perfect to unwind in after our 8 hour drive in. Owners/management were super communicative and helpful.

Thanksgiving Family Gathering

Hello, we have rented cabins in the Ruidoso and Alto area for the last 20 years, always trying new places. This is by far the best place we’ve stayed at. Quiet, peaceful and clean. The home owners have everything you can possibly need. Jane was so helpful, courteous and would answer right away when we had a question. We cannot wait to stay here again. We had family travel from Los Angeles, Phoenix, Amarillo and El Paso. Everyone enjoyed our Thanksgiving Gathering!! Thank you!!!!

Beautiful home, everything we needed, and wildlife everywhere!

What an amazing house! I would give it a 10-star review if I could. The house had everything you could possibly need. We would cook every day, and it had every appliance, utensil, and even spices to use. We had a total of 12 guests with plenty of space for everyone to move around, and plenty of beds to sleep in. The pool table and foosball table were a big hit. There is a very large, big screen TV in the living room with plenty of seating for everyone to gather around and watch a movie. The laundry room has two sets of washing machines and dryers which was very convenient for a large group. The hot tub was a great place to unwind in the evenings. There were even some toys for toddlers up in the loft area. The best part of our stay was the continuous wildlife experiences. We had elk in the yard every day sometimes in the mornings AND in the evenings. We also had deer in the yard almost every day. About a mile from the property, we seen wild horses running. The property is secluded enough to be peaceful, quiet, and sit outside on the patio at night to view the amazing amount of stars. The location was very easy to get to Ruidoso for shopping and restaurants. The homeowner is very responsive and the check in process was very easy. Everything in the house is labeled and easy to find instructions. I would highly recommend staying here it was a wonderful experience.

Peaceful & rejuvenating

This is a beautiful property with all of the luxuries of home, and more. My children enjoyed the indoor hot tub, pool table and watching for elk. My husband and I enjoyed the serenity and comfortable seating. The owners were very pleasant and accommodating. It was a lovely experience.

Magic piece of heaven !

Pictures do not reflect how big this house is, in part for the interesting temperature preservation design that covers most of the house by the hill. Skylights everywhere in the house to bring natural light (clever!). Massive skylight in jacuzzi room with supper high ceiling and open space that connects all bedrooms. The distribution of the inside of the house is great, it felt like staying in a movie mansion. Again, pictures do not resemble how big and comfortable the house really is in the inside, it can easily accommodate 3-4 small families. On top of that the house is super well equipped and you can feel the effort the owners make to ensure you vacation is a memorable one. The reason I stay in owned properties like this one is because I like to feel like I am at home. I see more and more owners renting their vacation properties to account for the mortgage expenses. Some owners don’t like sharing their houses, and some find joy in sharing their houses by making others happy, that is the case here. Spacious Cabin

Everyone in our group loved the cabin, inside and out. Very large and spacious. Cabin has just about everything you could possibly need. It was nice sitting outside and enjoying the fresh air. The huge red lovesac in the living room was a hit, everyone wants to buy one now. Enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. Will definitely recommend and will stay again.

Amazing vacation property

We were scared about booking at first due to all the restrictions but we decided to anyways and let me be the first to say the photos don’t do this house any justice. The owners are amazing and went completely out of their way to ensure our stay was great. The house is very spacious and can accommodate a very large group. Every room had a spare bed so is perfect for people with children. The inside hot tub makes for a great experience. The huge yard is amazing to go exploring and looking at the scenario. We saw many elk on the drive in and had deer walking through the backyard in the evenings and morning. The house had everything you could think of needing for a vacation as for as in the kitchen and restrooms. Hands down a great experience and would recommend to anybody looking for a beautiful place to stay.

Wonderful property for relaxing!!

We love this property. The home is beautiful, very clean and well equipped with pots and pans, Keurig, dishes and utensils, and linens. All 5 bedrooms are spacious and the beds are great. We had lots of fun playing pool, burning wood in the wood burning stove watching the big screen tv and the indoor hot tub is amazing. The outside is also amazing. We saw deer and elk right in the backyard. We love this place and recommend it highly!!!

Captivating Views

This was an amazing vacation spot! When we walked in, the place blew my mind. I thought the interior decorations were brilliant! I enjoyed how every room had a different theme and how everything flowed together... down to the animal shaped towels. The furniture is so comfortable. Surprisingly, I never missed my bed!! My 4 year old enjoyed the open space to run around outside. She screamed when she saw the swing, and the toys that were in the cabin - it made her feel important that there was “a kids touch”. I think my family’s favorite part was the wildlife. At first we thought it was so relaxing to sit under the hummingbirds buzzing around and get lost in the stars at night. But when we woke up to TWO ELKS in the yard, that was the cherry on top! We will definitely be back!!

Wonderful; Just as desired

The house was wonderful, fully stocked, and comfortable. The kids loved exploring the land and creek. The layout of the rooms worked well. We would consider staying here again. Only issue we had was attempting to drop trash off on our last day. All the sites were locked and the cleaning lady got sassy with us after we explained what happened.
