This property was amazing! The cabin was incredibly clean and had all the amenities you could need. The hosts truly have thought of everything. It was a very comfortable and relaxing. The cabin and property are absolutely perfect. If you are looking for quiet solitude, this is the place. The beautiful fire pit area and the front porch will have you wanting to spend all your time outside, but the interior of the cabin is so immaculate and inviting, you’ll love being indoors as well. I initially booked three nights but it was so enjoyable, I extended my stay an additional day. It’s that good. The hosts genuinely care about the enjoyment of your stay and it shows. The proximity to mountain biking in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest and hiking at Copper Falls makes this a great central location for a host of adventures. This will be my first choice of stay on my next trip up north.

Absolutely perfect. The hosts thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. Every detail is well thought out, from kitchen needs, toiletries, phone charging, nightlights, air conditioning, furniture that converts easily for lounging, black out curtains, washer/dryer…they even go above and beyond with a welcome basket and bottled water in the fridge. And this says nothing of the peaceful location tucked in the woods, wonderful porch, and quaint fire pit area with outdoor timed lighting. Thank you for the wonderful stay. We would recommend this place to anybody!

I was born and raised in Wisconsin, while Laurie grew up just across the border in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. In 2018, I purchased a piece of land in this beautiful region—a place we had both long been drawn to for its abundant waterfalls, rich mining history, and endless opportunities for exploration.

When we met, we discovered a shared dream: to one day build a cabin tucked deep in the woods, nestled in the foothills of Mt. Whittlesey.

That dream began to take shape in the summer of 2024, and by the summer of 2025, it became a reality. The cabin was completed—a peaceful retreat and a lasting reflection of our love for this land and the journey that brought us here.

We’re honored to share it with you.

We were drawn to this area of northern Wisconsin for its unmatched natural beauty, peaceful seclusion, and rich sense of history. It’s a place where the forests are thick with pines, the air feels clean and crisp, and waterfalls, trails, and old mining roads seem to wait around every corner.

We especially love how the location offers the best of both worlds—quiet and privacy on our own wooded acreage, yet just a short drive from Mellen and other local gems. Being so close to Copper Falls State Park and countless UTV/ATV trails makes it perfect for outdoor lovers like us.

This region just felt like home from the moment we first set foot here. Building our cabin in the foothills of Mt. Whittlesey was a way to stay connected to that feeling—and now we’re excited to share it with others.
