Flamingo Beach perfect stay

The property is very nicely laid out. Beautiful gardens and a very relaxing and Inviting pool. Igor was a great host, recommended a couple places to eat and they were delicious. The property is close to many restaurants and night life. But up the mountain and out of the way when you want to relax and disconnect.

I am from the United States and booked this property at the last minute. It was peak season, when Western-style hotels were extremely expensive and budget local options weren’t appealing. This property ended up being a great middle ground.The location is very convenient (you’ll still want a car) and felt extremely safe. The views from the property are stunning. Any photos you take on the property will look incredible (trust me!). The host was always responsive and easy to reach. The room had all the basics you’d expect: a new refrigerator, bathroom, closet, etc. I used the pool and had no complaints.There were a few minor drawbacks. I had to deal with hundreds of ants over the course of my stay, likely because of the lush vegetation right outside. The property is also a bit dated. That wasn’t a deal-breaker for me, but the mattresses could really use replacing, and the TV is an old CRT model, so I didn’t end up using it.Overall, your experience will really depend on your expectations. If you’re looking for a modern, hotel-style stay, this may not be it. But if you’re okay with an older property and value safety, location, and great views, this place offers decent value, especially during high season.

True serenity and peace.

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a fantastic time. The property is absolutely gorgeous and we felt like we were in paradise at the pool. Igor has done such an amazing job at creating a welcoming atmosphere. He is very hospitable and friendly, always nearby for any questions. The room was simple and humble- but comfortable enough just to sleep in. We were out most of the time doing activities. There are actually 2 twin beds in the room- which put together are no problem. Right nearby many beaches- easy to take a quick trip to Tamarindo or Playa Danta. I would love to return to this villa and Igor in the future. -Miguel & Alexandra

Horrible Experince

I booked this room as it was around the corner from my daughter’s apartment. At 6pm I didn’t have check-in codes so I messaged the owner. (2x). 20 minutes later I get an irate phone call from the owner telling me he has been waiting at the property all day for us to arrive. And what time would we be there! I told him we would be there in 45 min. Upon arrival, the owner (a very elderly man) had an older lady with him. He seemed calmer but it was very uncomfortable getting the key and shown where he lives and the pool area. I went into the room and looked around. It was absolutely disgusting! Things were broken, really old and the room had not been cleaned. There was a large puddle of water in the bathroom floor, the floors had hair, grass, sand and coffee spills all over, the sink, mirror and shower had not been cleaned, the trash in the bathroom was full and smelled horrible - it was awful. The owner was outside with the lady so I went to speak to them. I explained that room did not appear to have been cleaned and gave a few examples. To my utter shock - the owner screams (and I’m not making this up) Blank you! Get off of my property! I’m sick of waiting on you all day! He said that he cleaned the room himself and there are no maids on Sundays. And walked off. The lady and I were mortified!! She assured me he would not remember this in the morning. I knew I would tho. It was a horrible experience. Not enough space to finish.

Best Pool and Vista in Flamingo

Although our room was basic and small it had adequate and comfortable necessities. We're really enjoyed the lovely hilltop setting, beautiful gardens and refreshing pool. Our host was very knowledgeable and helpful.

The vistas just keep getting better. Christmas/New Year is probably the busiest time of the year for tourism here, but despite it, you both managed to get in some meaningful eco-tourism. The next time you come, please remember that Liberia airport is only one hour by car from us - saving you a grueling trip over the mountains from San Jose. Currently, we are experiencing some truly amazing and colorful sunsets... All the better to compliment your Costa Rican experiences! Today (New Year's Day) a pod of monkeys came to visit and we spotted a couple of whales in the bay in front of your Villa here. Can't think of a better way to start the New Year 2020 !!! Wandering stone pathways through tropical gardens, two lush inviting pools, priceless views, proximity to endless land and water activities, fabulous restaurants. fruit and vegetable vendors, well-stocked supermarkets and amazing wildlife: All within minutes of our quiet tropical oasis. Whether socializing by one of the pools or simply relaxing in one of the many quiet, shady private terraces. These are the moments when great memories are created. Come for the excitement... Beautiful setting, high in the hills overlooking playa Flamingo.

The property is terraced, over several acres. Stucco and stone buildings and two magnificent pools. Our little studio had a wonderful view over the valley to the ocean, but the bed, 2 singles together side by side, was uncomfortable. The amenities in the room, coffee maker, etc, were old. Bathroom was adequate.

So glad that you enjoyed the setting! We are struggling with understanding the problems that you experienced with the amenities of your room: The fridge is only 8 months old, as is the coffee-maker! Your choice of our smallest, most economical accommodation - which included 2 extra-long single beds with orthopedic quality mattresses placed side by side - was apparently not what you had expected. This is the first time that anyone has brought these issues(?) to our attention! Sadly, we had no opportunity to speak with you during your brief stay. You left without a word. Please be assured that we take your comments seriously and will address any issues that need to be addressed. Thank you for your visit.

PARADISE ON EARTH

After many visits to Villas Casa Loma, I continue to love the location and the quiet comfort afforded by hosts Tom and Igor. They are always available with insightful suggestions for great restaurants, arranging sightseeing trips and generally adding that extra "spice" to my holiday experiences! Once again I chose a simple, comfortable private double bedroom with ensuite bath. The views of the morning sun over the marina area and spectacular sunsets are more than justification for choosing this tranquil spot! Add to that the convenience of being able to make my own coffee in the morning and keep a few a few snacks in the bar fridge was an added plus.I love the quiet, the views, the gardens and the pool, too! All told, a "perfect holiday retreat". Thanks to Villas Casa Loma I have met many new friends in the area and will definitely be back again! We will be waiting for you, Anton! As you have discovered, mornings do not get much better than here in Flamingo and sunsets can be magnificent! Wake to the calls of howler monkeys and brilliant sunshine, sparkling ocean with boats bobbing in the bay out front! Fall asleep to the tranquil sounds of the ocean and wake to the prospect of new and fun things to do every day. We - and your many friends here - are looking forward to your next visit! PURA VIDA! After travelling extensively through many countries of the world, we came to Costa Rica for the first time 30 years ago and instantly fell in love with the nature, people, flora and fauna of this gentle country. More than 30 years ago (1989) we purchased a very large natural preserve nestled above the Pacific ocean in a very sleepy, quiet community of Flamingo Beach in the Pacific North-Western province of Guanacaste. We never looked back - never regretted this decision. In fact, we started by building our first house. Then a guest house, followed by a pool. Before we knew it, we had designed and built a unique complex of beautiful Villas with a large tropical pool - all built with the highest regard for their tropical surroundings and natural setting. From every window or terrace, one can appreciate the magic of Nature. It has been very rewarding personally for us to create this unique little corner of Paradise!
