It was very easy to book the trip, pay the bill, and access the unit. We had no reason to contact the owner or anyone for assistance. The only reason I gave a 4 out of 5 stars is that there is no shade anywhere on the property, no umbrellas anywhere. I don't know if you're allowed to bring your own umbrella for the pool, but if you want a reprieve from the sun in the afternoon, there is none. The pools were comfortable, but some tables with umbrellas would have made a huge difference for us. That would have turned the 4, to a 5 out of 5 stars.

Perfect spot for beach stay

This beach condo is absolutely perfect.Very convenient and well equipped for a great stay. The first floor location is perfect.Close to parking, and a short walk to the pool and the beautiful beach.We really enjoyed sitting on the pool side porch. Perfect spot for sitting in the shade for morning coffee and people watching.Everything you want for a relaxing vacation is here at John and Lisa’s beach condo. We will definitely be back . The location of the condo was wonderful… close to the beach and pool. We had a hiccup with the a/c but it was fixed right away. I would definitely stay there again

Our family was excited to stay in this unit as the reviews were positive and appearance looked nice. On the second night of our stay, a cockroach was discovered in the bed of the 2nd bedroom where my husband and toddler were sleeping. We contacted the owner right away in the morning, who was responsive, and contacted pest control. We were advised that pest control would be arriving in the afternoon, but no further updates were ever provided. After conversations with our own exterminator, the likelihood of more cockroaches in the unit and building were high. Getting rid of cockroaches takes months as it doesn’t kill but only prevents future cockroaches from reproducing. We made the decision to vacate this unit and building as we no longer felt it was clean/safe for our young children. We returned the following day to ensure we had all our belongings, and we found the unit as we left it; meaning no further cleaning took place. I notified the owner of our departure and asked for a partial refund as we had to incur additional costs of renting a different unit for the remainder of our stay. He rejected our request as it “appeared” to be an isolated incident. Regardless, an incident none the less. In addition, the “threat” I received after stating I would be leaving an honest review was uncalled for as I’m not the one with cockroaches in my unit and simply asked for a refund: “Also, please remember that we can review our guests. It goes both ways before anything is published.”

Peaceful Paradise

What a beautiful home away from home! Our kids had a blast! We are a family of five, and we had plenty of room… Fully equipped kitchen, games and movies in the room for extra entertainment! Bottom floor room and steps from the beach is an A+++ for our family with small kiddos! The owner was great to deal with and very helpful! We will be back again!

Excellent location!

I wouldn’t change a thing. Away from hustle and bustle, but close enough to go to town easily. We saw dolphins, stingrays, all kinds of birds, even a rat snake. Great shelling! Easy walk to the pools and beach. Laundry on site. I took my daily morning jogs on the trails at Bob Secour just down the road. Super cute little coffee shop on the grounds. We just loved all of it. Our favorite place yet.

Our stay at this condo fit our needs. The kitchen was stocked well for our cooking needs. The beds were comfortable. We were as close to the boardwalk as possible. The grounds were kept very tidy and clean. Our host was responsive when we had any needs. We will rent this condo again in the future.

Family vacation

We had the best time on our week long trip. This was our first time staying in Fort Morgan. It was very nice being away from all the traffic of Gulf Shores but close enough for a quick drive if needed. Our condo was perfect for us. Short walk to the beach. Had all the essentials needed for our stay. We plan on coming back next year!

Cute Condo

Great location for our kids. The first floor with good view of the ocean where the kids hopped the fence and played football on the lawn and the little one found shells in the garden rocks. Super close walk to the boardwalk and beach. The chairs and umbrella reserved was so nice! My friend and myself both brought our teenage kids and a little one and it fit our budget perfectly. The teenage boys loved the freedom to go play basketball at night while the little one swam. I recommend bringing beach towels, paper products (paper plates, ziplock bags, paper towels, toilet paper), your own bath towels-the ones provided are thin and 1-2 per person, and soaps and shampoo. Also learn how to use a Nest thermostat. We never quite got the hang of it. The grounds are beautiful and the service was great. When we had the smoke alarm go off, maintenance was at the door to replace it the next day. We would definitely want to rent this condo again and highly recommend it.

Great location to the beach and pool

My family of 5 (husband, myself, 2 kids and their grandma) stayed at this condo for 5 days. Overall we were satisfied with the condo and it did have a great selection of pots, pans, dishes and cooking utensils to use. The location of the condo to the beach and pool couldn’t have been better. The owners seem very nice but were out of the country when we arrived so there was a bit of delay in communication. This was our first time using VRBO and I wasn’t aware of some minor things like the code to access the condo will not work until 15 min before check-in time. Other than that, we would definitely stay here again when we’re in the area.

Quality at a great price

We stayed here with our family of 5 - two adults and three kids. Great location in the resort. Bright and clean. The unit is very close to pools and beach. Even though unit is on the first floor you can see the gulf from the living room/kitchen area. We made daily use of basketball and pickle ball courts. Host was quick to answer any questions. Only negatives aren’t deal breakers - no laundry in the unit which we knew ahead of time. Wish the entryway dresser was a tall more narrow pantry as not a lot of cupboard space for food. Would stay here again!

Great property where the pool, beach boardwalk and dunes are just steps away. The weather could not have been nicer, mid-70s in mid-April, and communication with John was very timely. We look forward to another visit in the future!

Fall Break 2023

We really enjoyed our stay in this condo - everything was exactly as pictured. We love staying at Fort Morgan, as it is so family friendly. This first-floor condo was great for us - getting everyone (and all of our beach accessories) out the door each day was so easy. The beach really is just steps away from the door. Even if you weren’t venturing out to the beach, you still had a great view of it - and of the pool, too! For groups who prefer to stay in and cook, rather than going out, the kitchen is fully stocked - we had everything we needed. I could definitely see us planning a stay here again.

Amazing

This is such a charming condo. Ground floor and close to the board walk and pool. It was very clean and furnished with everything you need. The decor is updated and very pretty. This particular complex is our favorite vacation spot. Our favorite thing was having coffee on the patio early every morning with a view of the beautiful landscaping and ocean. The owners communicate so well and are very nice. We would love to stay again!

Family Vacay - Returning Visitors

The is the 2nd time we have stayed in this very condo. The location is PRIME for us! The beach is never too crowded, and this condo being on the first floor, and right by the boardwalk and pool - is perfect!! The owners are so kind and quick to respond! This year, we were very disappointed in the “cleaning” that had been done prior to our arrival. We spoke with the owner and he got the cleaners to come back quickly!! Also, the beds are very firm and rather loud when someone rolls over but we tolerate that for the location. The microwave sits very crookedly - probably needs to be reinstalled properly. I fixed the lamp beside the king bed because it was almost falling apart - needed tightened. The visible baseboards and fans need a good cleaning or even just a wipe down. There was also sand along the edges of most of the walls. The towels are very rough and some had hair laundered into them. All of this was manageable compared to the location of this condo!! We will likely book again in the future - we just know ahead of time that our backs will hurt from the bed ahead of time. Haha!

Wonderful stay at the Plantation!

I have stayed at the Plantation several times but this was my first stay in this unit. The property is beautifully updated with great first floor location. I loved being so close to the beach. There's a great view of the ocean and a quick exit out to the walkway. We had everything we needed. I appreciated the parking pass and the beach chair rentals being included in the rate. The beach wagon was also great to have. I would definitely stay in this unit again!

My family has been vacationing at the Gulf Shores Plantation since I was kid. We love it here because the resort has so many amenities, the grounds are impeccably maintained, and the beach is absolutely beautiful. We specifically chose Unit 1134 because it is essentially as close as you can get to the boardwalk to the beach, it is a first floor unit so you don’t have carry your beach supplies up a few flights of stairs, it has a garden view with very easy access to the pool.
