Nestled in western NC mountains, this Craftsman chalet is easily reached on paved roads, minutes from downtown Murphy. Designed for couples, friends or small families. High-speed WiFi, fully loaded kitchen, gas fireplace, outdoor grill, hot tub, fire pit. Walking trails, scenic motorcycle routes, craft breweries, wineries, casino, food and local culture. Trout fishing, tubing, river rafting, zip lining nearby. Andrews, Hayesville, Blairsville, Blue Ridge each 15-20 min drive.

Spacious king loft with large ensuite full bathroom and closet. Queen bedroom on main level has large closet, luggage rack and seating. Living room features lounger style sofa that easily transitions to full-sized bed.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the host or the cabin. it is absolutely the cleanest place i have ever stayed...we have stayed twice and Julie is always quick to respond when we have a question. Its close to Murphy but not so close you feel like you are in the city. I would highly recommend Gentle Bens to anyone staying in the area, no regrets.

We have stayed at many cabins (mostly in Virginia) some of them better than others, this cabin was one of our favorites so far, very close to town but far enough away to feel like you are in the country. We would 100% go back the next time we are in Murphy.

this property is stunning. So comfortable, just right for 2 couples or family. It has all the extras, even games, puzzles, the wrap around porch has the most comfortable rockers. We didn't get to use the fire pit because of the wind, but will DEF stay here again!! There were deer everywhere!! so neat and close enough to town, that it was very convenient!!

My wife and I stayed 5 nights in this lovely and well appointed cabin. Everything was as described: the decoration was beautiful, the furniture and appliances were top notch and the bathrooms were ample and modern. The cabin was clean and spotless. We highly recommend it. We certainly plan to return.

Cozy & Quiet

A cute cabin tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, yet close to shopping. Even better, it was only a 9-minute drive to the John C. Campbell Folk School. Julie was quick to respond to our questions, and the cabin was beautifully equipped with everything we could possibly need.

The cabin is wonderful! Very, very clean, fully stocked kitchen, perfect location, easy to access, close to everything. The layout of the cabin is very cozy and homey feeling. The neighborhood is wonderful, quiet and absolutely loved all the wildlife - deer, baby deer - we saw. The hosts were easily accessed and had immediate responses and resolutions to any questions/issues we had. There wasn't anything we would suggest changing except for a fenced in area for the pups to play in. Regardless, we would definitely stay here again when coming back to Murphy.

We live in the Florida Keys and love the western NC vibe. Murphy and surrounding mountain areas rival the islands with natural beauty, so we are blessed to enjoy both worlds. We enjoy traveling with our dogs so having a pet-friendly cabin to share was important for us.

The people of Murphy cultivate the most kind community; they are friendly, welcoming and generous. Easy access to so many other towns, and being able to reach Murphy from four different airports in the same amount of time is incredible! Activities can range from NC to TN and GA, all within easy reach.

Gentle Ben's is simply elegant. A Craftsman chalet, its interior and exterior are richly designed, and exceptionally functional with airy, uncrowded spaces. Finely crafted, Amish-hewn furnishings throughout include luxurious beds and linens, alongside a kitchen fully stocked with culinary tools and café-worthy coffee bar.

The outdoor areas are just as expansive, with an oversized covered porch with rockers, grill and lighted fans for relaxed and comfortable socializing. Custom-built privacy screens protect a sizable, 5-person hot tub for soaking beneath the stars. Gather around the expansive back yard's river rock-filled fire pit with comfy cedar seating for a fun evening toasting friends and roasting s'mores.
