The Space:

We welcome intimate events at the mansion! Whether you're planning a family gathering, small wedding, or corporate retreat, our property offers a unique and elegant setting. The mansion can accommodate up to 28 overnight guests and up to 40 guests for onsite events.



Please note: All outdoor or evening events require rental of the entire property and the presence of a security officer, coordinated through management. Additional event fees may apply. Contact us in advance to discuss details, schedule a tour, and receive approval for your event.



Guest Access:

Enjoy 24/7 secure access with WiFi-enabled locks on all guest entrance and room doors each set with a private code just for you. We offer contactless check-in for a smooth, flexible arrival experience.



The home is entirely yours during your stay, with no staff interruptions. However, we’re always just a call or message away if you need anything.



The Neighborhood:

The Property is located in the heart of the historic Southmoreland neighborhood. It is situated within steps of the Nelson Atkins Art Museum which is world famous and incredibly picturesque, as well as the Kemper Museum for Contemporary Art, and the Kansas City Art Institute. Have a picnic on the lawn of the Nelson and then walk to the Plaza Shopping district for more fun!



Getting Around:

Being located so close to the Country Club Plaza and downtown, Uber rides will be a minimal expense. You can also walk to the many beautiful sites near the Southmoreland Mansion.

*5-minute walk to the Plaza or 15-minute walk to Westport.

*5 minutes to all major interstates in the Kansas City area.

*5-minute walk to Nelson Atkins Art Museum, Kemper Museum for Contemporary Art, and The Kansas City Art Institute.

*30 minutes to Kansas City International Airport, Arrowhead Stadium, Kauffman Stadium and most anything else in KC.



Coming in 2025: the RideKC Streetcar Main Street extension will be steps from the Southmoreland Mansion! Stay in Southmoreland and you'll be easily accessible to UMKC, Midtown, Crown Center, Downtown, and the River Market!



Other Things to Note:

EXTENDED STAY NOTICE: Reservations exceeding 21 nights are subject to an additional $32 damage protection fee for each additional 21 nights of the reservation. Any applicable fees will be billed separately after booking.



IDENTITY VERIFICATION: To confirm your reservation, the primary guest is required to complete a brief identity verification process, including uploading a valid government-issued photo ID. Verification must be completed prior to check-in.



Parties & Events

All gatherings must be limited to 30 people unless an event package is purchased. Events hosting 30–50 guests require prior approval and are subject to additional fees. Unauthorized events may result in a $700 fine.



No Pets Allowed

We love animals, but pets are not permitted at this property. A $500 fee will apply for unauthorized pets.



No Smoking

This is a smoke-free property. A $250 cleaning fee will be charged if smoking occurs anywhere on-site.



Cancellation Policy

Cancel up to 5 days before check-in for a full refund, minus processing fees (~4%). No refunds for cancellations made within 5 days of check-in.
