Das Penthouse befindet sich in der Wohnanlage Villas Marlin. Der Komplex verfügt über 3 Pools (darunter ein Kinderbecken), einen Whirlpool im Freien und einen Tennisplatz. We booked the apartment for 1 week in the spring break season. The apartment and the host (Gabriel) was perfecto. The beach was very clean in a few steps away. The bus station to downtown or nightclub mile was 1 minute away (to the mile is like 5 minutes). We would book it 100% again. Best regards, Ferhat from Germany.

Great location

Fantastic location and great host. Mayela was quick to respond to any issues that we had. The air conditioner wasn’t working and she had someone there the next day to fix it. The unit is being renovated so it looked different from the original listing but it was still nice. The water was either burning hot or cold and we couldn’t figure out how to control it but it could have been user error.

My family had a wonderful time

Mayela informed us a few days before our vacation that the property was going through a renovation. It was supposed to be done before my arrival however due to weather, it was delayed. Mayela got us into another property closer to the beach. It was very nice and clean. She also helped us get in touch with a guide who helped us with transportation and a boat tour. My family really enjoyed our vacation. It was definitely one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to. It was so much fun watching my 2 year old daughter having so much fun at the beach. Thank you.

Nice apartment but needs renovation

Villas Marlin have a perfect location next to a very nice beach, a mall with a supermarket, bus stops and taxis. And about only 20' away from the airport. The Maya Museum and the Maya ruins of El Rey are only a short bus ride. Outside, I found one of the pools not to be too clean. There was even a property employee taking pictures of it to report it.. The communication with our host was excellent: she responded promptly to our messages, allowed us to check in earlier than was said originally, got us a taxi to the airport the last day, had her mother receive us on the day of our arrival. The kitchen was well equipped, and everything worked well. Our only complaint would be that the furniture was quite old, especially the closets. And the bathroom upstairs. The apartment was a bit run down. The handle in the outside door was broken, for instance. It would to would not harm to do some renovation in the apartment. Because of that, I think it is overprized. But our stay was satisfactory and enjoyable.

Excellent location and property.

The condo is very spacious and all the rooms on the side of the ocean have spectacular ocean views. Felt very safe and there’s several options for food within walking distance. Ocean water is warm and crystal clear. A few days the weather didn’t cooperate, but with the mall across the street, we did our shopping those days. There’s a trick to the hot water, hot is cold and cold is hot, once we figure that out, we had plenty of hot water for the four of us. Taxis from airport try to over charge, but it should not be more than $50USD. You can’t call an Uber to pick you up at the airport, but you can call an Uber to drop you off. We hope to be back soon.

Very poorly maintained, good location.

Do not book this unit, very negative experience overall. In high need of maintenance very poorly maintained. We were two families with young children. On our 6 days stay, we had the visit of 3 repairmen. We had a broken refrigerator, a broken entrance door handle, a broken espresso machine, a broken shower head, cockroaches, and no dryer even if it was advertised when we booked it. Molds on the wall and in the air conditioning. Broken shutters and patio door locks. The unit manager was responsive and trying her best but unable to fix all these issues in a timely manner. The location is good however close to the beach and supermarket, but the unit is overpriced until they fix and clean all these issues.

PROS-Great location, plenty of room, quick response when we needed to get ahold of someone, many resturants and places to go close by. CONS- no one to greet us at the propert to show us the ropes, strange smell in the upstairs bedroom,, if you kept the air on up there it seemed to help. Overall I would come back.

Nice beach property

The condo is right on the beach with a great ocean view. The property is a bit dated but perfect for a beach vacation. The hot water is a little temperamental. It’s an on demand service that was either too hot or not on. We actually preferred the cold showers anyway. The host is very nice and responsive to questions. She brought an extra 5 gallon water jug when the dispenser ran out. Check in was delayed to 4:30 as the room was not ready. The stove top is lit with matches and we could not get the gas oven to light. The property has a nice pool and a convenience store is next to the property and very handy.

Great location. Beautiful beach views

Nice property. It was very windy while there so the windows rattled at night preventing sleep. Even after discovering the wind shutters they rattled badly. I'm sure when the wind isn't so bad this wouldn't be an issue. The beds were clean and somewhat comfortable. We found them to be a little too firm. Shower temperatures varied while using them which was frustrating. We couldn't get their oven to work. The apartment and kitchen were clean, nicely furnished and well stocked. I had incorrectly assumed from the listing that the apartment was at beach level. We were on the seventh floor which meant using the elevator, which could only be taken by climbing up to the second floor to catch it. At check-in I had to sign a form I couldnt read and the guard's English was not good so he couldn't explain it to me. The pool area was very clean and well maintained and felt safe Overall we had a good stay and the apartment and area were nice. The amenities in the area were very good. We would come back here.

Nice place, conveniently located

This is a nice place. It is on the top floor of a 7 floor building with a perfect view of the beach. This is our third visit to Cancun, all with VRBO rentals, and this one was the most clean one we rented. It is conveniently located within walking distance of stores and restaurants. The rental is two floors with three bedrooms.

DON'T DO IT

We left immediately after check-in. The rental that I booked wasn't properly represented on the website. The property does not have 3 Oceanview rooms which was the reason I booked the property. Not-to-mention that the property has a number of appliances that are not functional. And, VRBO rep told me to leave the property that my money was being refunded only for VRBO to notify me 2 weeks later that they were not refunding my money so I have to fight it through an attorney. Everything is old and not in good condition. The pictures on VRBO are not representative of what you get, There are building in from of the main tower, where the unit is located. The hustle and bustle of that area is disruptive to the enjoyment of the view. There were big piles of rock laying around on the porches and that furniture was either in dis-repair or just assembled horribly. As you can see there is nowhere to upload pictures so then theres is that.

Villas Marlin Condo Review

This condo is at a great location in cancun. You have access to playa marlin which is convenient. Supermarket right across the street if you want to cook in the condo or there are various restuarants close by. There is strict security there but cancun as a whole felt very safe i went with my family and had no issues. The views in this condo are breathtaking & owner is very nice.

Cancun Family Vacation 2023

This was our family vacation for 2023 for my mother who is in her 70’s, our twenty year old daughter and two teenage daughters, my wife and myself (in short family). Gabriel is very attentive, respectful and on-point with his property. He met us the day we arrived, and the night before we left, also if we needed something he was on it immediately. We felt safe and like being at home which is important for us (he has EVERYTHING for example enough towels, furniture, plates, I mean like being at home for us). He is above and beyond from all other hosts we have met in other VRBO etc… We have stayed at Villas Marlín before and know that the location is excellent for us, mall, grocery store, hospital, restaurants, cigar shops, convenient stores, fire dept, police station….. great location!!! The staff at Villas Marlín are top notch especially the small food establishment/bar the employees are AMAZING!!! Security is also on their job which for us is priority, did I forget to mention that they have a lifeguard who is excellent at his job, looking out for everyone and at the riptides and letting us know about them and keeping us safe. For us this was a great experience and we LOVE that it’s not a hotel. Thank You Gabriel and Villas Marlín! We look forward to going back soon or next year!! Great Vacation Spot

We loved our stay and the management team was terrific to work with! We had plenty of space for our family of 6, groceries were nearby so we didn't have to eat out every meal, there was dedicated parking for our rental car, and we felt absolutely safe the entire time we were there, both inside and outside the complex.

Spot On, Great Stay!

All recent reviews of interactions with Gabriel and his wife are spot on....outstanding people and residence! This was our 6th VRBO and it didn't disappoint. We had a number of questions and Gabriel was able to answer them, always in a timely manner and with more than adequate details. The details of the residence and location are spot on, super convenient to the beach, supermarket and local restaurants a huge plus when comparing to the many resorts in the area. Hands down, we'd recommend Gabriel's place to friends and family if they ever wanted to visit Cancun!

The unit was well furnished with dishes, pots, pans, towels, toiletries. The view was great. Gabriel, the host, was great. He was quick to respond to any questions or requests. Our only issues were the fact that the washer didn't work all the time and the dryer didn't work at all. There was a clothes rack we used to hang clothes on to dry which worked fine. The elevator went out a few times & we had to walk up & down 7 stories of stairs. But, that was not something Gabriel had control over. The morning we left Gabriel came to the unit with a security team member and carried our suitcases down the stairs. Would definitely stay here again!

Excellent host and location

We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it highly. We were close enough to walk to restaurants and shopping. Pools were great and beach was awesome. Gabriel was a wonderful host, very friendly and accommodating.
