Bring your boats/watercrafts and launch directly from the property! This property has a private 13 feet wide commercial grade concrete boat ramp. No worries about where the closest public boat ramp is and how busy it might be, or who will drive the vehicle and trailer vs. who will captain the boat back to your vacation spot because the closest boat ramp extends from the driveway. The property is a double lot, providing room for trailer parking. If you have friends nearby, they can launch their boats and park their trailers here. There is plenty of space to dock amongst the 300 feet of deep canal waterfront without worrying about water traffic knocking the boat against the dock.
The St. John’s River is a short 600 feet from the boat ramp. Head north to access Lake George with the sandbar and Silver Glen Springs, or to access Blue Creek for an enjoyable sunset cruise. Heading south on the St. Johns River will take you toward Deland with the St. John’s River Grille (dog friendly) and Hontoon Island State Park.
Relax and make yourself at home in the 2 bedroom, 2 bath house with central heat and A/C. This is an ideal rental for 2 or 3 couples. The house consists of a large great room with vaulted ceiling, large kitchen with breakfast bar, 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, laundry area, a covered screened porch, and upper and lower open decks.
The adjacent lot can be utilized for additional parking. The lot could also be used for tent camping and includes an enclosed outdoor shower (on city water) with hot water, a hammock, and a fire pit. You can fish right from the dock or yard. There is also a canoe is available for your use.
The property is located just west of the Astor Bridge, one block north of State Road 40 (the main highway in Astor) and is very easy to find! Drifters Riverfront Bar & Grill (formerly the Blackwater Inn) is practically across the street. The property location provides quick and easy driving access to a bank/ATM, post office, gas station with Subway, Dollar General, Triple Z grocery, Sparky’s Restaurant, and Ace Hardware – all within 5 minutes or less. The Rose Garden, Castaways, and Essex restaurants and an ice cream shop are within 10 minutes. Additional shopping including big named stores and restaurants is available in Deland and Ormond Beach, 30 to 45 minutes away.
Additional information:
We are dog friendly! There are 2 extra large dog doors: one from the house to the screened porch and one from the screened porch to a long ramp (so dogs don't have to navigate stairs) that leads to the fenced yard. Please note: the 4 foot tall fencing contains 4 to 5 inch wide gaps between the posts, so it may not be ideal for small dogs and/or creative escape artists. We are dog lovers and believe that they are family. We do not charge a pet fee or pet deposit and there are no limits on quantity or size; however, if there is extra cleaning required or damage caused by your dog/dogs, the cost will be deducted from the rental deposit. There is a Dyson upright vacuum available for use, as well as a Swiffer Wet Jet, if needed. You know your dog(s) best! Please accommodate them to provide them and you with the most enjoyable, least stressful and least destructive stay possible.
If you are bringing children, please be aware that this house is elevated approximately 4 1/2 feet above the ground. Stairs are needed to access the house and there is a lot of access to water. Also, the house is not "child-proofed".
Smoking is allowed on the SCREENED PORCH and OUTSIDE AREAS ONLY. No smoking inside. Ashtrays are provided on the screened porch. Proper disposal of all litter/waste/garbage (i.e. cigarette butts, etc.) is required on the entire property.

unsupervised children and adults who are not careful, or don’t know how to swim.
• Guest will take appropriate precautions for the safety of all guests on premises, especially
children. Please pay extra attention regarding the steps, porch, boat ramp, and docks that all
children and guests use due caution against accidents.
• Guest agrees to assume the risk of injury from the use of these facilities to him/herself and all
other guests, whether child or adult.
• Only family or friends of Guest shall be permitted on premises- no sublet or assignment of this
agreement is permitted.
• Guest shall be responsible for all guests and any damage caused during the stay, unless caused
by Owner or Owner’s representative or agent.
• Guest agrees to lock house when not on premises for security.
• Guest will consider the neighbors on either side when parking.
• Guest will comply with noise ordinance, keeping noise to a minimum after 10:00 p.m.
• Any problems with the premises shall be reported to owner or designated agent immediately
by Guest.
• Guest shall keep trash and garbage in covered containers provided.
• Guest will comply with any reasonable rules established by Owner and provided to Guest.
