We loved the cottage, it was warm and cosy. We were very impressed that there was sky TV and WiFi. There was everything we needed and the paddock out the back was great for our dog to explore. My husband even got chatting to a neighbour while out walking the dog. The area was central to several beach locations for walks and to top it off the sun shone. We would definitely love to stay again. Thank you from the murray family
So pleased you enjoyed your stay. Thankyou for taking the time to post this lovely review.
A relaxing, beautiful, and classy stay!
This was my favorite location during our visit to Ireland! The cottage is very clean, well-supplied, and thoughtfully decorated. I loved eating breakfast out on the back patio and listening to the birds and sheep every morning!
Thanks for your feedback, Kristi. Glad you enjoyed the things that we love too!
We returned for a second visit to Bridge Cottage. We find the Cottage to be relaxed and comfortable. We like visiting the beaches nearby which are beautiful for walks. Donegal town is not too far away for an evening meal.Mostly we ate in after a day out in the fresh air .It was still chilly so we lit the wood burning stove and relaxed over dinner and a glass of wine.
Beautiful traditional Bridge Cottage Dunkineely
This beautiful traditional cottage is attractively furnished, warm and cosy with everything provided. It was easy to find thanks to Sue's directions and everything was as described, clean and well maintained.
The quiet location is close to all amenities, beautiful scenery, the sea and the mountains.
In spite of the adverse weather, my daughter and I managed to get out and about almost every day visiting all the surrounding beauty spots such as St. John's Point, Slieve League, Errigal and Donegal Town.
As we are exploring Family Reseach, the relatively near records offices in Letterkenny and Lifford proved very helpful. We chose this cottage as a quiet place to continue our studies in the evenings and it was perfect!
I would definitely recommend this property to everyone...and it is very likely that I will go back to it.
Customer service and owner contact was excellent.
Thank you so much for this detailed review, Eileen. Delighted that you and your daughter enjoyed your stay in Donegal. Hope to have you back to stay sometime.
Beautiful size , good location, peaceful , well equipped , Donegal town is fabulous and great location to tour the county . Would recommend
Everything you need and more
The cottage is in a great location for exploring Donegal whlie enoying all the comforts of home. It is both cosy and well-equipped with everything you could possibly need for a great holiday. The information provided in the visitors’ folder was really useful and we thoroughly recommend giving it a good read when you first arrive – we didn’t realise until later in our stay that we could have had fuel delivered to the door. The storage heaters were adequate in June and we didn’t need the fire much although we lit it every night just for ambience. Having explored other parts of Donegal during our stay, we would say that this is one of the best areas to stay in. The local pubs in Dunkineely were really friendly and one has a couple of live Irish music sessions every week. There are decent food shopping options in the local shops (mostly at petrol stations) or a bigger supermarket in Killybegs. We had great food at Nancy’s Bar in Ardara and at Kitty Kelly’s which was on the road from Dunkineely to Killybegs. There are great recommendations for beaches, sights, pubs and music nights in the vistors’ folder and the maps in the cottage were invaluable as the local road signs were not very forthcoming. Would definitely recommend the cottage and don’t miss the stunning cliffs of Slieve League.
DOGS ALLOWED, BUT STRICTLY BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT ONLY PLEASE. There is no extra charge for towels or bed linen. Fuel for the fire is not included in the price, but is readily available locally. We ask each party to leave sufficient fuel behind for in-coming guests to use on their first evening. This system depends on good-will and works well! There is 5 euros charge (council charge) to dispose of each bin-bag of rubbish left at the end of a stay. (Most rubbish can be recycled locally or burnt in the multi-fuel stove.)
