The space
The first impression that you get when driving up to the Ellison House is the quiet, flat and easy going street the house resides on. You should typically be able to park directly in front of the house and walk right up to the door. If you arrive as the sun goes down, the string lights and censored lights should illuminate your welcome. On the porch you will see your insta moment on our swinging bench. Sit, swing, relax, and take a selfie to share with family and friends. Once inside the house you will be greeted with the living room to the left and the dining room to your right. The living room is the perfect room to sit, relax, watch tv, have a drink, and catch up with your friends and family. The dining room is perfect for 6 but you can certainly have a couple more. The french doors can be closed to keep the sounds of happy chatter a bit quieter for people trying to sleep. As you go down the hallway you will see the first bedroom to the left which includes 2 full sized beds. There is a 32 inch TV with Roku. The second bedroom includes 2 twin beds, also with a 32 inch TV with Roku. In between the 2 rooms is a full bathroom. Further down the hallway is the primary bedroom which includes a KING bed, a desk and chair for work, as well as a 32 inch TV and Roku.

Through the dining room you enter the Game Room / Movie Room. This is perfect for the kids and adults of all ages. Go back in time and play Pac-Man on our arcade style game. Play board games if you would like, and with the 60 inch TV, entertainment can go on for hours.

As you go through the Game Room / Movie Room, you will then enter the kitchen and dining area. The dining area nook includes seating for 2 with its french bistro feel. Since this is a southern charmer home, we decorated the cabinets with that inspiration in mind. The kitchen should be a great place to gather and cook. The island provides a great space to cook and the kitchen amenities should allow for different cooking experiences. To the left of the kitchen is the coffee bar....most of us need this in the morning so enjoy the coffee options.

As you go past the kitchen you will see the laundry room which includes a washing machine and dryer. The door past the laundry room is the back door to the deck. The deck is an amazing space to relax, grill on the BBQ, have dinner, chat with friends, and take in the view at night. The steps on the deck will then take you to our backyard. You will see a space for a firepit and chairs. The path takes you around the backyard and to the Hot Tub where you enjoy the warmth of the water while watching the sunset off in the distance.

The Ellison House has 2 levels of living spaces. The upstairs and the downstairs studio. You can get to the downstairs studio 2 ways. You can enter from the driveway and through the gate, or you can enter from the gate in the backyard. With either entrance you will see an outdoor space with a table and chairs. Closer to the picket fence you have 2 Adirondack chairs to relax and take in the view. Follow the sign to "Home Sweet Home" where you will see the front door to the studio. You will be given the code for this door as well. In the lobby you will have another washer and dryer. Once inside you will see the kitchen. It is not a full kitchen however offers great space and amenities to cook more simple meals. There is also a full bathroom. Once you go through the kitchen you will see the open space of the living area. The living area includes a couch and 40 inch TV with Roku. The TV is set on guest mode so you can use your own login information and once your reservation is complete, your information is deleted. There is a table for 2 which can be used for dining or a work space. The living area includes a Queen bed with a 32 inch TV with Roku.

All in all the Ellison House brings the nostalgia of the old south and includes the modern amenities that we all enjoy.

This house is not designed to have parties or gatherings. The house is on a nice quite street with close neighbors with not a lot of parking spots. We want to be respectful to the neighbors. If you plan to have a party, this is not the house for you. If there are more guests than on the reservation and we are told there are large gatherings/parties, your reservation will be immediately canceled. We have a zero tolerance policy for parties.
Guest access
You will have access to the entire home. There are 2 WiFi enabled locks which you will be given codes for. With each turn of guests, there will be new codes.
The front door is directly visible from the the street.

The Ellison House studio is on the lower level. To get to the lower level you need to go down the driveway on the left hand side of the house. Please be careful when going down the driveway. It is rare but if its very cold, ice may make the slope dangerous. Please be careful. We will provide you with the padlock code to get into the backyard space. Once inside you can follow the sign "Home Sweet Home" which will take you to the front door of the studio. You will have a separate code for that door as well.
Other things to note
The Ellison House is on 2 levels. The only access to the downstairs studio is from the driveway on the left side of the house, or from the steps from the deck upstairs. There is no access going from upstairs/downstairs without going outside.

Pet Fees:

The pet fee per pet is $40. For any additional pet there will be an additional $40 per pet.

** If there is excessive pet hair to clean such as dog hair on couches, beds, curtains etc, there will be a $50 additional cleaning fee. ***

This property has special local compliance requirements which include a signed rental agreement, ID verification, and a security hold of $1000 (which is not a traditional security deposit, just a pending transaction). As an optional alternative to the security hold, you may opt in to purchase a non-refundable damage waiver provided by a third-party insurance company. The damage waiver is $39 for stays up to 10 nights, with an additional $2 per day for stays longer than 10 nights.

To make this process easy for you, we use a secure and very simple, app-free platform called Happy Guest. It is not an app, and you do not have to sign up for an account - it’s a safe and secure website. It also gives you a guest portal with all the info about the home and all of my favorite local spots.
