North Myrtle Beach vacation rental home The Shell, located in the Crescent Beach section of North Myrtle Beach, is a 5 bedroom, 3.5 bath oceanfront beach house with lots of charm. This North Myrtle Beach rental home has a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare and serve meals for the family. The living room has plenty of comfortable seating and offers a cozy cottage feeling. The Shell beach house rental feature a large screened in porch where you can feel the breeze come off of the Atlantic while watching the waves crash along the shoreline. Relax as you enjoy your morning coffee or take an afternoon nap and wake up to a breathtaking sunset.

North Myrtle Beach rental home The Shell has 3 bedrooms on the upper level of the home and two bedrooms located on the ground level. The master bedroom and second bedroom each has a queen bed and television. The third bedroom has 2 twins and a television. The fourth bedroom, which is on the ground level with a separate entrance, has a queen bed and a full bathroom. The fifth bedroom, also on the ground level with a separate entrance, has 2 double beds and a television with a half bath. There is a separate enclosed shower and laundry room on the ground level. The entrance to the upper level from the bottom level is from the outside stairs only. The televisions are Smart TVs with streaming. (You have to log in with your own account.) There is no cable TV.

The Shell has covered parking for two vehicles and room in the driveway for four more cars. There is a grilling area with picnic table and charcoal grill on the back patio. This North Myrtle Beach vacation rental has a laundry room on the ground floor level with a full size washer and dryer for your convenience.

We got married!

Our family of 11 including 3 senior citizens, two 20 somethings, 4 teenagers and us two middle agers had a blast at the Shell. We were there for family vacation but also got married on the beach right out front. Although the bedrooms arenā€™t very big the Shell had plenty of room for all of us. Kitchen could use a clean out of dishes and cups to leave some space to put food in the cabinets. Overall, we loved it and would stay here again.

Homey Little Place on the Beach

We loved our stay at the Shell. The house is older, but feels homey. We had 6 people on our stay, and everyone had room to spare. Access to the beach was great, and never super crowded.

The place had the perfect location and parking! It was also big enough for a family and the yard was a great bonus. We had a great time! Now for the not 5 stars... I don't think it was very clear in the description that one of the outside bedrooms only had a half bath. It was a bit of a headache for the family members in that bedroom to get showers. The place wasn't as clean as I would have expected. Some tables had visible dirt/dust on them and the floors left your feet/socks very dirty. A previous review stated this as well...cockroaches. The previous review said they were everywhere (review posted after we booked). Honestly, we didn't experience them everywhere so maybe there have been some mitigation strategies. We were VERY careful about having no food out. We did find two during the week stay. So overall a good find, but just needs a little extra attention.

We head roaches in all the rooms. There were no indoor stairs from the lower level. Location was great. Plenty of parking available. AC didnā€™t work in all the rooms. Showers were only big enough to turn around in. Pressure of water was great but not always cold in each shower.

Great Location-Great Price

First let me say that this is not a luxurious elegant house However it is VERY relaxing, accommodating and the location-price is Excellent. There is 2 bedrooms downstairs that are like separate apartments with their own bathrooms. (Have to go outside to access them, no inside access to them) This is like a cottage on the ocean! There is a shower outside so you dont need to bring on the salt water. A grill for bbqs. Dishes for dinners. A full fridge and a mini fridge for extra drinks. The enclosed patio is great for lounging and watching the water, dolphins in the mornings. The beach is just over the hill. My 90 year old grandmotherade it down there 3 times over the week we were there. Everything you need is 10 minutes or less away! Plenty of parking for cars. I would 100% go back to stay again! My only suggestion is a ceiling fan of some sort on the patio to circulate the air, that would have been amazing while sitting put there. We bought a floor fan while we were there which worked well. And to have the boardwalk go a bit further to the beach would be better, the sand gets VERY hot and it would've made grandma's walk a little easier. Otherwise you've got everything you need at this place!

Wonderful Family Vacation

We loved the ocean front location with direct access to the beach. The house worked well for us 4 adults and 3 children under 7. The lawn area gave the children another place to play. We were very happy with the house and location. There is lots to do in N. Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach. The only drawback for us was the road noise of loud motorcycles and other vehicles right outside the house.

The Shell

The Shell is one of the original beach houses in Myrtle Beach. Itā€™s quaint design and interior are a throw back to the 50s and 60s but it contained all if the amenities of a newer rental property. It sits on the beach and attractions are within close by. With that said, the cleaning crew did a not so good job before we got there. Illegal drugs were found on the property, vomit was found in a bag under one of the bathroom sinks, food was found behind the couch and under a bed. The deck is in desperate need to be cleaned and the living room rug was sandy like it was not vacuumed. One of the shower stalls leaked real badly to the point that we kept towels on the floor to absorb the water that leaked. This is a great place to rent for a family vacation but cleaning crew needs to do better.

Nice beach house. Loved the location and that each room had its own bathroom. Only things that should be addressed is the bathroom with the stand up shower should be looked at. It leaked water out when we showered. It sloped down by the toilet so thatā€™s where the water ran too. The bedrooms down stairs are not connected. We thought they were but the listing doesnā€™t really say much about how the downstairs is and that you have to use the outside stairs to get in the house. Good thing we brought an extra bed so the kids had a place to sleep because they are too young to be separated from the rest of us. We made it work and loved how charming it was in person.

Was a nice house great view everything as advertised the only problem was downstairs large bedroom floor was dirty and had fleas did not make sense for a no pet rental also barbecue grill needs replaced to many parts missing had to buy a part so could use if you are going to have beach equipment (chairs ect) they should work or throw them out otherwise had a great time would rent again but would address issues when renting

Charming Beach House

My family of 8 adults and 4 children had a wonderful vacation week at the Shell the last week of June 2018. Itā€™s an old fashioned charming beach house perfectly locatated oceanfront. We had plenty of room to sit inside and play games or watch TV. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. 2 of the bedrooms are downstairs with outside access. This was not a problem for us, we kept all the kids upstairs and it was a place to escape the madness for a while for me. The best thing about the house is the great porch and outdoor space, with the yard for the kids to play and the easy access to the beach. Also because itā€™s mainly houses in this little stretch of the beach it was not as crowded in front of the house as it is in front of the big hotels. All in all we all had a wonderful vacation and I would recommend this charming beach house for your family beach vacation.

Great Family Vacation home

The Shell House

This was the absolute most terrible place to stay. It was very dirty and we spent the first day buying cleaning supplies trying to clean the filth in the house. It was listed as a five bedroom but the two closets that they called bedrooms in the basement were not accessible to the upstairs. We had to walk outside and up the steps to the main house. There were BUGS galore...to say the least. The house was totally infested with ants. The ants were nesting in all of our food and we were only credited a minimal amount for our groceries. Our vacation was totally ruined to say the least, as we spent all of our time chasing ants and trying to clean and sanitize the place. Our feet stuck to the floor and the furniture was so filthy we had to buy sheets to place over it so we could sit down. The place smelled of urine and it looked as though it had not been cleaned in a year. The manager told us if we didn't like it to get out, but we could not find another place on such short notice.I wouldn't put my dog at this place much less my family. We were credited 10 percent for our trouble, but the place isn't worth two cents. There was the invasion of the pill bugs in the basement bedrooms that we kept having to kill as well. The ants infested the entire house....it was truly an army of ants. The manager sent someone to exterminate but it made things worse after a day, the ants came back in droves. Do not waste your money on this place....it is awful. You will never be happy here. We saved our money for a year to take this trip just to be invaded by ants and pill bugs, and the filth was outrageous. This is THE WORST PLACE EVER!!!!!

Shell Lover

This summer will make our 4th visit to the Shell. We have greatly enjoyed our stay the last 3 years. It is conviently located to many attractions. It has a wonderful view of the ocean. The house is very spacious and easily accomodates our large family. Seaside staff are always friendly and courtious when it comes to making reservations, dealing with any issues that arise, etc. I highly recommend that you look into booking your vacation and reserving this house for a vey enjoyed stay at the beach!
